4) Log out character
5) Sit on character select screen for around 1 minute
6) Get "An Error Has Occurred"
One variation is the the AEHO message after step 4 before the character screen appears.

Zyle✭✭✭✭✭That sounds like the inactivity timer, I know it's relatively short on character select versus in game which is around 10min I believe.
