Dual swords for healing setup

I use a set up now of 5 julianos and 4 Magnus for healing. Works great, im getting close to 37k magic and around 2400 recovery.

My crit is 65.5 percent on the dual bar, and 55.5 percent on my staff bar. Likely due to having inner light equipped.

I never use my swords, they're just there for the extra bonus from my sets. They are precise. My question is, if I were to switch to nirnhoned swords, I would lose some crit %, but would gain some spell damage to make my heals harder. If I were to switch to nirnhoned daggers, would I retain the crit chance (dual wield is maxed) and also gain the spell damage from nirnhoned daggers?

Even if it's minimal I would consider switching for better results.

Thanks for any advice.

I think the passive for crit chance on daggers is only weapon critical, which may not help with magicka heals.

Dual daggers only gives weapon crit, not spell crit. Only swords are useful to magicka builds. And in the next patch, yes, Nirnhoned would increase your healing, but powered would do so directly for cheaper and would lead to stronger heals. Precise would be a good compromise, because you can crit for damage and heals.

Also...wow, your recovery is tremendous...too tremendous. Drop that baby down and pump that max magicka a little higher. 40k shouldn't be too hard if you give up some recovery. Or swap it out to cost reduction.

My understanding is that the dual wield passive for daggers increases your weapon crit, not spell crit. You would also lose the dual wield passive bonus to your spell damage (total of 5%).

There are several other sets that you can try to get instead eventually, as a healer, e.g. Spell Power Cure (from farming vWGT), Worm cult (vr16 from Maw of Lorkhaj), vet Maelstrom (or even Master's) Resto staff, Molag Kena shoulders or Bogdan 2-piece, etc.

Templar healers able to DW, makes me jelly. :( one of the perks of having a healing tree.

You have to be battleleved with those stats.

So dont worry to much about it untill you are at end game.

Don't use dual wield. Destro/resto ftw.

Tamriel Unlimited was a mistake. One Tamriel was a bigger mistake

Perhaps they are using recovery enchantments instead of spell damage.

No battle level. I have two willpower sets, one with Magic regen and one with spell power. I use two regen and one spell power, plus regen Mundas stone and divines.

My max magic is from undaunted and glyphs.

    Thanks for all the answers!

I suggest you drop precise and get powered, which is getting a huge flat healing increase in the DB patch.

Daggers are bad for healers, they increase weapon critical chance, not spell critical chance. Get instead 1-handed swords.

Precise = more crit chance for healing and damage.
Nirnhoned = more spell penetration for damage and spell resistance protection.
    • if you are a heal/dd and you deal damage half the time, then nirnhoned might be better.
    • if you are a dedicated healer, and you spend your time buffing and healing mainly, only dealing a little damage, then precise is better.

@Valrien if the tank and the 2 DD's on the healers team are stamina users, then the healer is better off with resto/dual-wield than resto/destro.

Nirn change is a huge nerf. It will soon only affect your weapon's damage (not weapon damage) not your spells. Don't change any thing: spell damage, crit, and max magic for healing. Not weapon damage. Spell pen is not spell damage or power it is the bypassing of armor and its resistance. Powered in the new update is good but precise will still be better, by far. You guys have got to test stuff on The PTS not theory craft. Also 2800 k plus hours on a Templar. Build is solid... There are no better sets coming in db... Enjoy. With your high crit chance I would go shadow over thief for Mundas. But there is no reason to have 25 k heals when ppl have 18 k health in pve. Don't over heal. I would get my undaunted leveled quick and I like to be close to 40 k magic with a 5 1 1 set up (heavy infused chest and med infused legs. Magic glyphs of course. Julianos is the best but have a kags set too for the Rez speed and extra health. Better in pvp... imo. Bye bye nirn swords but not deconning them due to well you know future nerfs and buffs.
Sorcerna, proud beta sorc. RIP April 2014 to May 31 2016 DArk Brotherhood. Out of retirement for negates and encases. Sorcerna will be going back into retirement to be my main crafter Fall 2018. Because an 8 k shield is f ing useless. Died because of baddies on the forum. Too much qq too little pew pew. 16 AD 2 DC. 0 EP cause they bad, CP 2300 plus 18 level 50 toons. NA, PC, Grey Host#SORCLIVESMATTER actually they don’t or they wouldn’t keep getting nerfed constantly.

I wouldn't make new stuff til DB goes live. Also imo all of your healing abilities are best used on your resto staff bar due to the resto staff passive that increases all healing done while resto staff is equipped.
