REQUEST: Zenimax, Please can you add an option to 'Social' to turn off PvP Notifications in PvE:

In the past there have been quite a few posts on the forums asking about how to turn off PvP Notifications from PvE. From reading these posts, making one myself, and speaking to many players in game, I have become aware that many players are equally as surprised as I had been to learn there is currently no way to turn off notifications from PvP when you are in PvE.

Currently, even when you are NOT in PvP, very large text will appear across the entire screen notifying of who has the scroll in the campaign you are in. When the scroll is being picked up and dropped continually in a big battle, this can become very annoying to anyone who is NOT in PvP at the time; as streams of very large text will continually scroll across the screen.

Some of us players like to Video Capture moments from the game; whether it be via a video card or via the PS4 game capture option. Quite often such a capture can be ruined by these text notifications continually popping up across the screen, ruining an otherwise great moment.

On PC, there is apparently an add-on that fixes this problem, however, on console we cannot use add-ons, and there is no feature that offers this option.

In a past update we received an option in the 'Social' options that now allows us to switch off notifications from Leaderboards. This was a simple and good addition to the options that benefits the game. Adding another option to switch off PvP notifications would also benefit the game.

This is a request to add a simple switch in the ‘Social’ Options panel that would allow us to choose whether we wish to see these PvP Notifications while we are NOT in the campaign, but gaming in PvE.

If you care about this, or have something constructive to add, please sign the request and/or comment.

If we are lucky, perhaps Zenimax can squeeze this simple option into the busy schedule for other additions to the game.

Lol... It was a petition rather than a poll. I couldn't see the option to create it any other way. ...so Neo, are you going to take the Red pill or the Blue Pill... given they do the exact same thing haha

I agree that adding this option makes a lot of sense. No offence, but when I'm working on some quest enjoying a story - I really do not care who is emperor. (...I do use that addon though)

Nothing wrong with adding toggle options to suit different play styles at all . A toggle would be fine .

Please make these notifications optional. I really do not care what is happening in PvP and it gets annoying to have my view blocked by these unwanted announcements.

I think the intention for the notifications was to encourage people to hop into pvp. As in, seeing that a lot of scrolls and such being capped might convince a player that there was a lot of action going on and that they should jump in too.

But I think people could make a reasonable assumption of how much activity is going on in pvp simply by looking at the population levels in each campaign. These notifications are an annoyance to pure pve'rs at best and those who enjoy pvp would go to cyrodiil without a notification anyway. Of course, Im not saying to straight take it out of the game, but toggles are always nice.

I think this Thread should be closed due to the Poll related to it having teh same answer on both options; which means this should not be a poll at all, only a normal discussion.

I'd also love to see a toggle to disable the PVE notifications (A guild member has completed XYZ dungeon with a score of X).

If you are in any active trading guild, you will see dozens of these every day

Exactly. More obvious than most polls that there is an intended bias.

Zos, can I find a better example as to why the ability to create pointless polls should be removed from the forums. Probably a higher priority than the ability to turn off AvA notifications.

I honestly have no idea when it was added. I play on console so am assuming PC has the same option.
