New look of Breton Light Armor Hoods.

So, I logged into the PTS yesterday, and I was not happy to see the Breton Light Armor Hood on my character changed. The hood used to hang over her eyes a little, but now it is retreating up her forehead. I'll have to post some screenshots when I have time, but in all honesty, this new hood style is not appealing to me.

Is there any chance we can have a toggle, or style of hood that is not affected by this change?

There are a lot of new gear items that look rushed and just don't have the same quality of art as past motifs . It would be nice if who ever was in this part of the art department would consider making some changes to improve the looks on this new gear .

Current live Breton light armor hoods look amazing.

Honestly, having crafted them on PTS... I don't see much of a change, if any. Maybe I'm missing something because I haven't used one in ages, but it seems to be the same hoods as before.

There isn't that much of a difference although it is more noticeable in game. On a khajiit character the ears now prop up the back of the hood which you can see in the pics on the right whereas before they were unnoticeable, and the hood is shorter at the front which you can see in the middle pictures.

Why the devs had to touch it at all when there was nothing wrong with it in the first place seems like a waste of time when they could be bug fixing instead.

Like the OP I'm not keen on the change to be honest. Its not so bad that It'll bother me too much as I often don't have my hood showing anyway. I just wish the devs would concentrate on stuff that actually needs fixing instead of messing about with stuff that's already fine.

You should check to see if this is a khajiit-only issue, since they are endeavoring to make armor look better on khajiit with nearly every patch.

Pretty sure it's Khajiit only. Based on what I saw when I looked at the hoods on a Breton.

It is not only breton. All hoods and similar covering head pieces has been changed.

There are many graphical changes in this dlc. For example trinimac light armor now follow a female shape ok female toons instead of just being a port of the male armor. But you wont find that in the patch notes.

You mean the ear bumps? Its a new feature for khajiits and i personally found it adorable.

The changes may be inspired by this thread. ZOS wants to fix some armors now, or so they said. They may also be trying to work in Khajiit wear so they look different in it.

The hood now looks like its receding up your forehead, and not hanging over the eyes a bit. I don't like it. Its a minor change, and not at all something that many will care about, but I do. I don't play a Khajiit, but even on my Argonian the hood looks worse off in my opinion than it did previously.

TLDR: Its not the Khajiit ear bumps that bother me (I don't play one), its the hood not going over the eyes like it currently does on Live. I do not like the "Short" hood look.

Personally the ear bumps look goofy, good idea on paper but executed poorly.

Agreed, it looks better with the hang. Seems more like a proper hood.

I only use Breton hoods for light, it's by far the best vanilla motif for assassins, why in the world would they change it?

You answered your own question. They are putting out a new 'assassin/thief' motifs every patch, hidden behind dumb DLC grinds. They need to nerf the easy to get vanilla ones to be undesirable. Seems cynical of me, but I would not be surprised to learn that it is true.

Outlaw hoods of all armor weights are a suitable replacement.

I think the idea is that they shouldn't change existing motifs. If I recall correctly, they've said in the past that they'll no longer be revisiting old motifs like they did with Orc and Redguard.

I just want to clarify because some people are still bringing it up:

This is not about Ear Bumps. I don't care about those. Its about the over hang over the eyes! Why shorten it!? Leave it alone. My assassin looked so much better with the overhang, now it looks terrible .

I just want to keep this post visible. I really dislike the new hoods, and many of my friends do as well. Please reconsider changing the old hoods please!

All the old hoods have the same change done to them. So unless they change it back, or add in new sets with the old look, there are no alternatives.
