Players cheating and spying for other factions

Does spying really even matter in this game? It's not like we have assets that we will lose in Cyrodiil like a house or something. This game doesn't have any risk factors so what is really the point?

Spies not so much, though people complained about them in zone a lot. Troll campers were an actual problem/thing though. New thread every day it seemed.

The spies man they are everywhere EVERYWHERE.

I don't mind if people spy (and report back to their team), but they should do it on the loyalty faction character, or ESO should give us an ability to oust the spy or pummel the spy or give some negative effect to the spy so the affected faction can deal with the spy running on a character of the same faction? No?

What my original post was mean to convey, as many have alluded to above, it is the interruption of the game-intended by porting people into a protected keep or handing off scrolls by using a same-faction character to give the opposite alliances an advantage. That is not the intent of the game (in my opinion). I also understand others have differing opinions, which is okay. I would like to see some accountability for doing so, or some consequence.

You know how I spy? Open up my friend list and ask the opposing guild leads if they're running a raid atm and where so we can get some good fights.

You are using skills and abilities and capaibilities not offered to you as your own favoured faction.
If you didnt have the ability to swap factions on the same account(s) this exploit would be impossible.
I call it an exploit, as that is its exact dictionary definition:

I am so tired of people making exploitation seem more and more 'acceptable'.
Trying to make the grey area ever larger until it encompasses everything.
A push here, a shove there, until we end up in the total mess we have now where people openly exploit anything and everything they can all the time.

There should be rules governed by decency. For instance just because you can exploit a guild bank and remove everything from it doean't make it right or okay even though it is possible in-game. Call it an exploit, whatever goes, if you weren't intened to exploit it, it wouldn't be there, arguments etc. are B.S.

Common decency dictates certain actions shouldn't be taken. We as a community in game make the game and environment what it is and we should rise above these "exploits" call them what they are and not accept them! Then we can be proud of the community we create and shape.

Literally 99% of the console playerbase that uses the forums are either zergbads or streamer fanboys. Idk why but the better players\guilds on console have never really had a forum presence like you see from PC.

I wish I had the time and mental energy to play the other factions and go perform some political machinations in their zones. Would be a lot easier than trying to /w individual people to work with the other guilds politically and strategically.

Nothing can or will be done about spying or collusion between alliances. It was just made easier by allowing alts to all be in the same campaign. It's disgusting, but some players are pathetic enough to do anything for an edge. Like the dude said, note their name and kill them as often as possible.

Let me remind you all, this is the alliance WAR, spies exist in war, if there are any they are welcome to do whatever to hurt their faction, thats what a spy is, thats what a war is, this ridiculous notion that just cause you have a certain way of fighting the other team should fight that way too is crazy, spies, WB, shield stacking, zerging, its all fair

No, @zuto40. You miss the point. If you are a spy in a war and get caught there are consequences. Here there are no consequences. So, it is unfair to this war. A same-faction member escorted by opposing faction taking scroll deeper into opposing faction away from their same color faction is a misuse of same-faction player and resource.

So, since there is no mechanic limiting Guild Members to removing everything from its bank (to the detriment of all other Guild Members), it is fair? I think not. Similarly, using one-faction member against all other same-faction members isn't right.

There may be no consequence for these 'fair' tactics, but are they right?

End of discussion. Stop trying to project your values and honor code onto others in a game that clearly does not match those ideals.
