PS4 Scourge Cheating

Last night between 10:30-11:30 PM PT I watched as DC used an AD alt to take scrolls from both Blackboot and Bloodmayne. The castles were never under siege and I watched as a level 10 AD character carried the scrolls one at a time across the map, with a DC group riding escort. I assume the alt allowed a DC player to chain up into the keep without placing it under siege, DC picks up the scroll and allows the Alt to kill him. Then the Alt just walks away with the scroll and there is nothing anyone can do about it since you can't kill, stun, stop, freeze, or in any way slow down your own "alliance" members. It's just so frustrating when the only way to get ahead is to cheat. The real tragedy in this is that I have the person's screen name but if I post it here, then I am the one breaking the rules and will get reprimanded.

Also, to forestall the whole "spies are a part of war" discussion let me say that you are right. But when spies are caught in war, they can be killed. However, you cannot kill spies in this game as you cannot attack your own alliance members. It's just so frustrating to try and play a game and lose to cheaters. Spin it any you want but at the end of the day DC is cheating on PS4 Scourge.

If anyone wants to know the name of the Alt I'm happy to provide it.

Wow, that sucks when it happens and I wish I could say that it happened just this once. Or just that faction. But it happens quite a bit for every faction on every server. Wonder if it was revenge for when AD did it.

Would be nice if there was a way to kill spies. Unfortunately, the only methods I can think of would be exploited to troll players or just make matters worse.

I didn't think you could pick up the scroll unless the keep showed it as under attack.

I'm not sure on the exact method of getting the scroll out of the castle. I don't study up on how to cheat. However, it was clearly a level 10 Alt of a DC player running with a DC group.

It was like a baseball game where your shortstop just throws the ball into the stands every play and there is nothing you can do about it because you can't cut him from the team.

Last time I checked, DC is up by about 8 to 9k points... with a week or two left. Scrolls propriety will not make a relevant dent on the scoreboard anymore... unless you want that 10% buff to become Super Saiyan.

First came complaints about holding Emperor-ship for days on end (from the #1 Yellow on your leader boards). Then that Yellow got Emp by zerging the whole map endlessly, holding it for almost 2 days straight... the thread where that particular Yellow Emperor was complaining about Blue Emp-hogging went completely mute while his reign lasted. It seems to me that bananas can dish it but cannot take it. Now here you come trying to blame the 007s ... what is going to be next? You are going to blame the loss to Zeni for not putting the Molag Kena helmet impen or infused on the tigress vendor?

It sucks to get rekt by an alliance that bad, I bet.

I was praising this campaign, you are right. I don't mind when DC holds emperor for days. Good for them. I'm also not that concerned about score diffrential but if DC is cheating than the final score isn't really a win for them. What bothers me is cheating. Ruining the fun of the game by abusing the system. That is what DC was doing last night.

Don't put words in my mouth as if I, personally, am complaining about everything. What this thread is about is that DC cheated last night. They cheated. That's it. I've been wrecked by the Wendy's sandwich and I've been wrecked by wrecking blow spammers but that's the game. What happened last night was straight cheating and it ruins the game. Just like I said above with my example of having a short stop who throws the ball into the stands. Even if my team is losing 10-0 in the bottom of the 9th inning, that is still cheating and ruins the game.

You also write DC is up by 8-9K points. That's true. For a while I had thought that was due to some good tactics and strategy but now I see it's just due to cheating.

This was a sad and diverted response. First of all, who is "whining" about everything? The complaint/observation Ballcap made was a specific, targeted observation about a form of cheap advancement on DC's part (at least the group who chose to do this, anyway). I.e, cheating, which I do agree with. If one of our guys did that, I'd lose complete respect for him all the same. I am a very objective person, and play no favoritism at all. (I have already had it out with someone on area chat a few months back, and almost reported him...and he was AD. A jerk is a jerk; it matters not to me.)

As for an emperor reigning for days, who cares? It only shows that it's truly a numbers game and not "that alliance is better than us." Emps--in a BALANCED map/campaign--reign for maybe a few hours...a day, if he's lucky. Anyone who plays as much PvP as I do, knows this. But when someone reigns for days and days, it's simply a sign that they have a 5:1 ratio of people jammed into the same campaign--that's it. So, let's relax the unearned ego here, buddy...

Regarding the CHEATING, which I do also consider it as such (at minimum, it's tacky and desperate), I was there last night when it occurred. For my area, it was around 1:30-2 am, and I saw the person come up on the screen taking it. I found it funny that, when I easily teleported to Black Boot, there was no damage to the walls, no guards reacting, no enemies around, nothing. I had a suspicion about this said person Ballcap is referring to, and it was unfolding right there.

The scroll moved NW, and I followed them almost all the way up to the back gate which leads to the lava-filled ditches and town, en route to the Alma Ruma temple. At one point they spotted me and killed me, but not w/o getting a verification that yes, this fake yellow was toting the scroll for his true comrades. It was nauseating and sad. The fake AD conveniently "dropped" the scroll right past the gate when the "coast was clear," and DC quickly picked it up within a nanosecond and took it home.

To me, the work involved to get a scroll is what makes it fun, exhaustive and true PvP, the true grit of working together as a team of loyal comrades you develop a liking working with. What these guys did was cheap, lazy and desperate-appearing. If--as you say, Carlomagno--it sucks to get wrecked by an alliance that bad is true--which it is--then why the desperate move on DC's part to obtain the scroll back? That is an oxymoron. It makes zero sense.

If you don't need the points--which DC does not in this campaign--then taking the lazy, sneaky route only shows desperation and zero tact. I am a principle over profit person--always have been. Yes, even in games I am about principle...because behind the pixels and controller, I am a real person, and I won't use the excuse that I am simply playing a game, to behave like a jack*ss.

That's just an excuse, and clearly what you are using to cover this group's behinds with. If this is being taken too seriously, so be it...but at least I don't have a profile "About Me" description of "Daggerfall is Life," like the scroll-snatching fake AD runner does. Sounds like HE needs a reality check--not us.

It's not cheating and ZOS has commented on it repeadetly. Also it has been happening since PC launch. Nothing has or will happen, ever. Move on and you will keep your sanity otherwise it just makes you angry.

People like me who are loyal to PvP will just route around it and continue to play...so yes, although it's annoying, it won't stop us from playing. It just becomes a big turn-off and we lose respect for the parties involved.

That aside, I wonder if a decent idea would be if they put a restriction/limit on the radius of where the scroll can be passively picked up from an alliance member in his own keep, and moved to. And then, possibly have a waiting period before it can be picked up again and moved further? This way it suppresses that attraction and temptation from other alliances to send in someone to grab it for them. It will give the alliance time to process and track the pattern going on, and realize that one of "our own" is moving it in the wrong direction.

Just an in-the-moment thought...

I also think the "spy" crap is ridiculous. I play in scourge with a DC and an AD, but more on my DC. People have accused me in area chat of being a spy for EP, which is stupid. I can't understand the obsession over spies, especially when aren't you in pvp to fight other alliances? Why would you be butthurt over opposition showing up at the keep you are trying to take, then accuse people of being spies? Grow up and respect how others want to play their game.

I mean we have all told the blues to chill their nuts with their over zerging. But in the end if they want to shoo away competition by aggravating them, then that is a lesson they will learn in due time. Whilst they troll up Scourge, I will go where the good fights are.

@Ballcap there are EP players on low level characters in DC doing this the last week they have picked up 6 scrolls they are also allowing them in Glademist and EP is trying to farm the keep by going upstairs and destroying them so ppl can't get up there.

I have almost completely left Scourge (PS4 NA). There is so much lag, huge zergy fights causing the lag, and almost no 2-4 man groups for me to fight. Solo players like myself are absolutely nonexistent.

Hearing that there is now cheating or cheap gameplay doesn't surprise me.

Mhm, the blue zerg is ridiculous, since TG I've been leveling/playing a DC alt, at first it was fun now I can barely log on and play for an hour. Mostly because it takes a whole freaking hour to get into Scourge lmao.

I'll stick out Scourge until the bitter end but there's no way in hell it'll be my home campaign next time. There's a chance that DC will hit 50,000 points. Probably not, but you never know.

Honestly, they[blue] should be worried. Because once EP finally gets its *** together and AD has had enough, they will get pushed to their gates daily by both alliances together. Seen it happen on PC, it will most certainly happen again now that DC has pushed their luck. I certainly won't be apart of it, however, the masses DC is annoying by overly zerging will be remembered by those getting farmed the most. And then they will know the true meaning of the word Orange Alliance.

EP day capped Chillrend yesterday, it kinda sucked . Ya'll should seriously consider at least guesting Chill I know Baconator was on Chill saturday. Saturday was amazing as far as fights went. Bacons group and another pretty good yellow group duked it at at Roe a couple of times. It was awesome.


Ninja edit: One thing to keep in mind about Chillrend, is there is a dueling community that has established themselves here and often you see fights break out in the middle of no where. That is usually them. So FYI to anyone thinking of going into Chill to be mindful that not everyone there is there to push objectives.

EP hasn't had its *** together in a long time, and even then it was a couple key players that held it together. Hope they do though. If it gets any worse you may see some well known blues swap red.

A bunch of us did, at least on alts. Lots of fun. Blows my mind how fast reds repair walls, and that suicide siege burning... Most laughing i've heard in guild chat in a while.

Could care less about the day capping, so long as the big blue zerg stays on scourge.

I have faith the reds will get their ducks together. Apparently they have the guilds, and they obviously have the strength they just need to agree with each other.

I want the blue super zerg to stay on Scourge as much as the next guy trust me. These reds do repair like lil worker fire ants. Need to really get a big stomp'n boot in order to keep them pinned down

A small caveat..

For 8 months I've played the game and regardless of what DLC dropped or alteration occurred to the campaigns themselves (non-CP or removal) a trend has remained -- "Buff Campaigns"

Before the update I noticed the following:

-Red had at the very least 3 Buff servers.
-Yellow seems to spread out nicely, yet exert dominance in Haderus. Aka 1 buff server.
-Blue had as their buff server Skull of Corruption. Aka 1 buff server.

*Triple Lock in Azura's Star... we all experienced the powerpoint presentations of the best pvpers clashing there.

After DLC dropped I got my key to the forums & decided to start learning more from dedicated players.. and one of the first PS4 posts I came across was from a lovely Red claiming to be wrecking everyone in Skull of Corruption.

Taunting Blu blus, extorting in Gank Wood Cave, ridiculing Covenant PVE guilds homed there. Also, claiming that the Red zerg was unstoppable. I believe the thread was closed (spent some minutes looking for it) because of some flaming comments..

Long story short, what I am trying to get at is .. perhaps Blue decided to find a different Buff server? They saw Scourge as an opportunity to get back at red after seeing that it was one of their Buff campaigns...I think the map was all red at first? 22k points ahead of Blue and Yellow... Blue in 10 days reduced that gap substantially & so did Yellow.. so maybe they thought once the score gets wiped they will restart that vicious cycle.

Personally I agree with most of you here asking the PS4 NA community to wake up a bit & to chill their piece.. the lag is not going to be fixed at all from Zenimax/ZOS. The changes need to come directly from us, the players.

If you hate the stutters, the blue screens, the "check to see if your internet connection works" message at the login screen, the glitches, the lag, the freezes (new to me after TG update) the lag... did I say lag already? Then the solution is to take yourself to a place that might be empty ...with no que time...and make it a bit more balanced. Little by little, establish that chain of love... take a few keeps and see if people start showing up. If they do, engage, and if you win?... stop teabagging & bow instead. Do things differently, you see 10 proxi dets going off... from your own alliance ... don't be the 11th... please...whoever is going against those 10 proxis is going to die...yours won't make a difference, the 8ap you'll gain is not worth freezing the map for 5 secs more. The night caps.. oh man... it is 5 o'clock somewhere in the world, I know... but if you're gonna contribute to that at least leave the home keeps for the other 2 alliances that way they don't just zone in & then hit the wayshrine out.

Those are a few examples on how to stop being a potato. It is really tough to get through to people, especially in video games, but I do believe that their is great minds still playing this game that could hit area chat to give some direction.

It is an MMO brought into the console... that in itself is such a rare gem... when the game works, it is *** awesome. THAT is the reason I still play after almost 9 months of purchase... there is hope, there is light... so open your eyes ... help us help you in restoring Cyrodiil. I will practice what I preach because I don't want more of my matrix friends to rage quit, believe that!

Preach! I've said this to many people on both AD and DC that non stop qq about lag but refuse to go to another campaign. They ignore what I say and say "ZOS needs to fix the server" and they will argue with me and continue qqing about the lag...its a viscous cycle...
