guild bank question.

Hi.
My little guild is growing slowly. 14 members woo! I put out a message to my guild that if they wanted anything from the guild bank to message me and I will get it for them and email it to them. I worried by giving everyone access as my guild grows one day someone might just loot the whole bank!!

But it turns out that if you don't have access to withdraw from the bank you can't actually see what is in the bank?

Is there anyway around this without giving everyone access to the bank?

I have said that people will get promoted as time goes and I trust them but I have put alot of good crafting items in my bank to help newer players out.

The only way of them viewing what's in there without access to check the deposits (and withdrawals to get a better idea) on the guild's history page.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Is this possible on console?

You can make different ranks have different permissions so the top ones can withdraw for example and the lower can't. But everyone can view the bank even if they can't withdraw, it's just trust =] only promote people u trust. We've never had any bank robbers in any guild I've been in so far ^^

I tested it with an officer in our guild. I took away his permission to withdraw from the bank and he confirmed that he couldn't view what was in the bank?

Yes, iirc.. Social > Guilds > select which one > History > select either All, Deposits or Withdrawals.

Unfortunately it doesn't give a total amount of each item in the bank but they will be able to see ~30 days of deposits and withdrawals and get a good idea of what's in there.

As managing a successful guild bank is all about keeping stocks, I'd advise trying to get them to deposit stuff in there as well as depending on their demand, your deposits alone may not be sustainable. Those that regularly deposit could then be given access, I guess.

If you give them DEPOSIT only access, then they CAN see what is in the bank. I give that to ALL guild members, but tightly control withdraw access. 2 years and no significant thievery!

Everyone in your guild can see deposits, withdrawals and what's actually in the guildbank and browse through it. But they can not deposit or withdraw if they don't have permission to do it. Notice that there both things require a permission, so you can allow some guildies to deposit only, and others to withdraw only, or do both.

This is how I deal with this issue:
    1. Me - guildmaster.
    2. advisors (access and permission to everything) - they are my personal guarde, their loyalty is only to me and their job is to advice me. I need these to call me out on my own BS sometimes.
    3. officers (access to withdraw/deposit in guildbank) - they take care of the guildies, help out where it is needed, recruit and chit chat. Their loyalty is toward the guild.
    4. senior members (access to withdraw/deposit in guildbank) - these guildies are trustworthy, so they get access to the guildbank. But they don't have any specific job to do other than being members.
    5. members - these guildies are still being tested, and will be promoted to "senior members" if they spend time with me, my officers or advisors and we judge them as trustworthy.
    6. new commers - I created this rank, just so I can uprank new guildies to "members rank" without them complaining about having "noob rank". I used to just have the above mentioned ranks before, but it turned out that many "members rank" didn't feel they were accepted as part of the guild yet..

This way I can let everyone in my guild invite anyone they want, and we have avoided any trouble with the guildbank. We have everything from writ materials to purple upgrades and green, blue & purple buff food for various levels in there. If the guildbank gets too full of armor junk nobody uses, I either send it to lowbies to deconstruct and level up crafting or my officers and advisors just clear it and vendor the poop.

Wow!!! Cheers for the in depth advice. I appreciate it. This is the first game I have ever been a guild master so I'm new to it ☺

    *cheers with coffee*

Also one last thing ...some trustworthy players who are utter noobs might mess up the guildbank, because they don't know the worth of items, so make clear lines for them like "do not use the guildbank to level up crafting, or take items to sell for profit".

...I used to take common sense for granted untill I saw a noob had taken 300 trial and pvp set gear out of the guildbank of a guild I was in, to deconstruct and level up crafting!
He honestly had no intent of doing any harm, he just had no idea the worth of those items (back then that gear was worth a lot). We all thought he had robbed it though, untill the guildmaster had a long talk with him and we found out why... lol our guildmaster took his time to explain the worth of items for him, and after that he didn't cause any more problems and even tried to compensate for the loss....
