pretty much buffs all round. Everyone relying on prox det is gonna be hurt, i dont/never have run it because its a cheese ability and its quite easy to 1vX without it so its not the end of the world. Gonna be torn now between running heavy or light :/

Surely the removal of the 'Bracing' passive completely removed any incentive to use heavy armour over light amour?

well i have playing without perma blocking since about half way through TGs so that doesnt bother me. What is nice, is the 8% healing (+ factor in a healing sword, another 3%) and 10% more health and the added resistances and i have pretty good tankiness for not blocking. It also lets me take alot of points out of blessed and drop them in increasing my dot damage. The damage difference is smaller aswell so thats another positive. I will test light armour ofc but im liking what i have been able to do in heavy.

Try duelling a stamina build in light armour, never goes well.

Duel them all the time lol

And if they're even reasonably good, you will get dominated.

I seriously doubt that. Dude, watch some of his videos ;)

^^^^ seen your videos @DKsUnite, its what made me play MDK. Im very new to it, and have a light armour build and have found it very comfortable to play with. preferred it over using heavy.

I see this is majorely a PvP discussion which I'll stay out of, but as far as PvE goes mag DKs really didn't take much of a hit.
Sure, we lost some burst in Proxy, but overall the class will fare the same. Our DPS is still the best sustainable DPS and we'll still be just as useful in any trial come DB.
Stam DKs and Magplars are giving us a run for our money, but overall the class hasn't been nerfed really.

You know youre gonna be in Heavy, Leo.

I mean, how serious can you take a DK in a skirt?

(I will be honest... the changes to Annulment make shield-stacking for mDK totally viable. Resto/Destro DK w/ shields....)

Being able to block more than before with a full light armor is a buff IMO. But now, HA have more damage than LA… so I don't know.
When we looking for sets, Varen's legacy seem really powerful for a magDK (10% chance to do 3000 more damage with the next aoe when blocking an attack) and it's craftable and Harbinger can be really powerful with a lot of life (deal 4% of your max life in damage each time you block a direct hit).

I think magDK will be the king of 1vX, but in 1v1 they haven't got anything.

Actually IMO, stam dk will the king of 1vX while Stamblade will rule 1v1

Other way around the stam dk with be good 1v1 because of it's dots, 1vX will be stam nb.

But, think of the things Stamblades can do in a duel. Ambush with Stamina reduction poison equipped leave mag builds with very little stamina. Use Inc.Strike for the stun and damage. Killer's Blade finish. Plus assassin's scourge can potentially one shot most DPS builds.

They could probably go dual wield for even more dmg now, i'm pretty sure killers blade has the same dmg as executioner but is cheaper (at least the same dmg as unmorphed executioner) So stamina dps skill/gap closer/execute they could easily go dual wield.

Killers blade does magic damage, so not as viable as mighty does not affect it.
    Combat & Gameplay
[*]Killer’s Blade (Assassin’s Blade morph): This morph now deals Disease Damage instead of Magic Damage.

It's being changed to Disease Damage so Mighty will affect it.
