Another Nerf for Vampirism!

To utilize the best ability (dark stalker) still requires vamp4 and that's means you have to live by the -75% health regen and the +25% fire damage.

Some of the changes are nice, but who is really not going to be Vamp4?

As it is now I try to remain vamp1 for more health regen, now I would have to be vamp4 to use dark stalker...

It's a buff and a nerf.

I guess overall it's about even, with +regen back making is a positive overall.

In my eyes, it is now viable to actually be a vamp in PvE. When you want to go PvP, starve up to 4 to get Dark stalker. When you want to run dungeons or trials, but don't want to get one-shot by fire, feed down to stage 1 (or 2 if dunmer for regen). How many of you viably pvp'd at a stage OTHER than 4? Even if you did, give it an hour and a half of play and you are alreasy at stage 3 or something. Now you actually have options.

I never considered dark stalker to be a "free" buff, and never saw any cries about that vampire ability. Just seems like this change came for no reason. I bet there are going to be a lot of unhappy vampires when this change takes place and they find they can no longer move quickly in stealth. I would say that most console players don't even read the PTS forums.

Ok, your turn. Why was it necessary to limit the dark stalker passive so severely?

But it is a "free" buff. You get an advantage without having to pay for it, if you're stage 1 and incur negligible penalties.

Which is why I asked them to consider making it a stage 2-4 buff. Making it a stage 4 buff treats it like it was some overpowered buff. It simply is not.

And just to add... You always had to pay for it. You always had to feed to avoid the other penalties.

I don't see that as treating it like some overpowered buff, I see that as putting it in line with a direct compromise of advantage/disadvantage proportional to its power.

I think they just tossed it in because they had nothing else to work with.

I don't think that's true for anything in this game. There's clearly intent and deliberate lines of reasoning here. Just because you don't agree with the change doesn't by any means suggest it was just "tossed in because they had nothing else to work with".

Well I would really like to know the reason, because this came out of left field.

I think it's because they realized that buff needed some balance. Whether you think it should be stage 2-4 or just stage 4 isn't the point, you just don't agree to the perceived weight of the balance but you yourself admitted it should be balanced instead of being completely free with no penalties... and btw having to feed isn't paying for it, that's such a trivial non-issue.
