Real Money for ESO gold?

A friend of mine told me the other day, while in-game, that the next patch you can trade in your ESO gold for real money. He never told me the ratio but insisted it would be a 1:1 trade off. If this is true, then thank you ZOS. I'm honestly elated that I can now quit my job and live off the money I've collected on various characters. I truly never thought a game would allow me to retire.

On a side note, I quit my job today! Now the waiting game begins....

No. Not tomorrow, not in a week, not in a month, not in 5 years. Never.

Hmm, this would be a good topic on April 1. But that was 19 days ago. A bit late. Nice try, though. :D

I'm not smoking anything. My best friend told me this in an attempt to uplift my spirits, and guaranteed it was 100% true. I don't normally divulge my personal life, but this is why I believe it's true.

6 months ago I went through a divorce, and I'm currently battling my ex-wife for custody of our kids. The judge said that if I was more financially stable, I'd have a good shot at getting my kids considering my ex is a stripper. Now here is the real kicker, my best friend who told me this is living with my ex-wife to keep an eye on her, in an attempt to communicate any developments. I always had a suspicion that she was cheating on me, but my friend that frequented her work place, "The Frugal Pony," insisted that she wasn't because he always sat at her booth. Now why would he lie about this? He has always been a true friend to me, and this news about the real money for gold is my ticket to winning my kids and getting back at her finally......

Are you sure it's not the other way around where we pay ZoS like $20.00 and get say 5000 gold added to your account?

    wat

If you're being ironic then good on you, nice meme.

If you're not, then I'd suggest you stop playing this game and focus on trying to get your kids because frankly you wont find anything here, just a waste of time you could be using to get your kids back.

I see why not, that should keep players motivated when selling and buying stuff, or go figure, 50 euros you get tons of Crowns and thats nothing. I'd rather see them giving some cool stuff for those with lots of gold and sell gold via Shop though.

I'm used to people making jokes on forums and I'm sure we're all used to a few daft troll attempts, but this is the most dumbest thread I think I've ever read on this forum, it's just plain stupid.

I'm not one to get easily offended, but I know people close to me who have lost wives, kids and jobs and use gaming as an escape from life's real problems. Joking about this stuff (which clearly you are) is just ignorant, especially on a community based forum for the world to see.

The first post you put was just a dumb troll attempt, the second just solidified your stupidity. Well done sir. You really need to have a good think about just how much of a funny guy you are, which clearly you aren't... :|

But the post arent actually suppose to be funny. The object in this game, the steps to this dance if you will, is to see how stupid and ridiculous you can make you claim/post and then laugh at the people who think you are telling the truth.

It is the basis of a famous insurance commercial. He is a french model! You didnt see an army of angry backlash on that! I know people who have been lied to on the internet, oh the humanity!

Isn't that defeating the object though? When everyone KNOWS you aren't telling the truth in the first place, therefore he can't laugh because no one believed him from the start? ;)

But that is the trick. Real enough to be true but dumb enough that if you pay attention you feel good and go on your merry way. Knowing you are super smrat!

Someone whispered to me and asked if I wanted some gold, assumed he was a gold seller, although if he was, it is my first experience with that in this game, which is amazing. I downloaded some other MMO and in the first 5 minutes I got about 15 tells from gold spammers.

All that said, any kind of in-game currency that can be bought with real money and traded in game creates a pay to win environment, which is something ZOS has been adamant on avoiding, so I highly doubt it.

The line between joking and trolling can sometimes be vague, but regardless it looks like this has run its course so we are locking it.
