It's essentially a cross between 1st and 3rd person- being able to look down and see your body.
Personally, I don't think it was done well.1 -

Part of that is that the First Person camera feels off.
Part of that is the slightly different situational awareness in an MMORPG setup.
Not sure the method of attaching the camera to the Third Person model's head that mods use would work here.
At the very least, skill animations would likely be a mess.

Well, it's true, some of the particle effects limit view drastically in 1st person, but i still like to play in 1st person most of the time. Guess that is due to that I like using a bow and it feels better to actually see it been drawn from the 1st person perspective.1 -
