When Vet Ranks are Removed, What will be the Max Level?

  • ng2084b14_ESO
if it is 160 CP for vr 16, currently all the characters have same number of champion points does it mean all characters will go to vr 16 or will they remove cp shared across by characters?

Can't wait to see people's reaction when they make cp per character, so they have to regrind 501 cp again on every single character.

Has there been word that they will do this? If they keep it the way it is then my alts will get much tougher because of the 1 sp/10 cp, but if they take away my alts cp then it will suck.
It would be too easy if they kept CP account wide, they are going to make it per character so you still have to level up to get end game gear.

Would you quit spreading this lie?
Has ZOS confirmed anything at all with removal of VR?

They even said themselves nothing is locked/confirmed.

They have never once even hinted at the possibility that CP will be anything other than account wide. Your comments to that effect are as useful as saying that they are going to be giving out pink unicorn mounts as a reward for hitting the CP cap.

We don't really know...we are all just speculating based on ZOS' comments weeks/months ago but it does seem that CP's will remain account wide. At least intially

You have been presenting something that you completely made up like it is fact, probably just to upset people on the forums. It is highly unlikely they would kill alts by doing this, and they have never even mentioned it.

There may not be confirmation but based on how they support people being able to get to max level quickly or go places without having to level it is easy to say they favor leaving cp account-wide for the simple fact that:

    1. They would have to remove all CPs from all alts not Lv50+
    2. People would complain off the wazoo alts take far too long to raise.
    3. They have no reason to at this point.

People seem to be forgetting that one of the major reasons for removing VR Ranks and basing it on account-wide CP is to make the game more alt friendly. ZOS has received tons of complaints about how unfriendly ESO is currently to people who want to have several alts, so having everything based on account-wide CP makes the game extremely alt friendly.

However, last I heard they were also planning to make CP inaccessible until a character reaches Level 50, and at that point the character would have access to all account-wide CP. As it is now, a brand new character has immediate access to all CP upon creation. So there may well be some changes as far as account wide CP access is concerned.

Is it just me or does this whole thing seem really risky on the part of ZOS? If this goes as wrong as it looks like it will, there will be a lot of pissed off players and it could kill the game. I have subscribed to this game since day 1 and have always had a positive outlook on decisions ZOS made. I'm not one of these guys who gets on the forums and whines daily or predicts the end of ESO. I have to say though this look to be a total cluster f*@#!

If this all goes to crap it will be all the whine bag, squall bags fault for crying about VR levels so much!

I still think 50 is too low though. Most every other MMORPG has had far higher level caps but they were also harder to hit. They could at least take a cue from the original edition of Skyrim and make it 80...

look at Gids idea or even mine....I think people want progression but just not with VRs and not gear restrictions based on CPs cause 501 is kinda a big number.....and to think its only going to grow.

With my idea, ZOS can raise the required level within the skill lines without drastically messing with any other parts of the game.

Same skills...at level 50, 60, 70 or even 80 as you suggest. Progression of mats and such arent lost and any change has a clear incremental progression. Now ppl aren't vr1 and then vr16 BUT for anyone who stopped leveling they aren't shafted cause lets say VR14 is level 48, VR15 is 49 and VR16 is 50....so it allows the prior to follow the same progression we already have.

I've always been in favor of a higher level cap since the removal of VRs was even discussed because I feel it is too easy to hit the cap in this game and thus makes for less accomplishment. Given the rate of growth for leveling up before hitting Vet Ranks it still wouldn't be hard to hit a higher cap but it would take longer, and considering all of the non-alliance zones and zones that aren't Craglorn scale you anyway I doubt raising the cap to even 150 would inconvenience anyone. It would, however, offer a crapton of Stat and Skill Points, the latter of which would support your idea.

With my concept of replacing VR 1-16 with levels 51-80 and THEN raise the level by 1 every month would give us the following

    Level 116 by year 5
    level 152 by year 8
    level 200 by year 12

I don't think that's unreasonable at all... especially considering things like battle leveling.

It's extremely unreasonable because the quests, character sheet, skills, skill lines are crafting are all based on levels 1-50.
To pull off your idea, silver, gold, crag, and all DLC would have to be segmented by levels this going against th whole point of removing Vr levels which is to bring us all together and for DLC and progression not to segment players from content but give a feeling of growth for effectiveness.

That's asking ZOS to redo 3/4 this of the existing game and all new content.

LOL. Oh.. yea. I agree it's unreasonable to expect, which is why I don't expect it. Especially this late in the game. We're going with CPs... that's the plan.

I meant that level 200 at 12 years wouldn't have been an unreasonable level increase, if that were the route they were going.

If they were going to convert VR to Levels from the get go, I think the conversion would have been easier than just completely removing Vet Ranks but that ship has long left the harbor.

I don't think that's unreasonable at all... especially considering things like battle leveling.

I used to play a game ran by a company called OGPlanet called Redstone. They dropped it though and the original makers of it are picking it back up but I left that game anyway. Anywho the game had a level cap of 999 but it took SO MUCH XP to gain even 1 level at a far lower level that it was quite difficult, not to mention far and few in between, to gain a level. Also xp was scaled so if you killed something too low or too high leveled you got less xp. Needless to say no one ever hit Lv999 because mobs in the game never quite got up to even Lv800.

Runescape had it much easier than that game ever did, but it wasn't easy. Took a LOT of dedicated grinding/harvesting/crafting to get anything to 99. Before I left Jagex my main was up in the 70s or so as a best stat and quite a few were in the 70s but he never quite got to the max... Still much easier than Redstone though lol

ESO on the other hand is so easy a caveman can do it... And by it I mean hit the cap. This leaves for quite the empty feeling when you do hit it. VR16 has some feels but Lv50? Hellz naw! Ranking up multiple morphs to Rank 4 however has some feels :p

CPs can only do so much. I hope Zenimax heeds our calls and notes our concepts so we someday see something... anything to get the cap over 50! Hopefully it gets better feedback than Vet Ranks lol
