yeah i think the devs might be lowering the drop rates little by little till it is almost impossible to get them. Then they will implement some loot crates RNG bs for 100 crowns each that contain materials. Call it a tinfoil hat theory but with the rise of games with RNG micro transactions i do not doubt it.disintegr8 wrote: »I don't know about the refining as I don't do a lot, but the drop rate for perfect roe has dropped immensely since TG patch. I try and fish any time I come to a fishing hole and have not had one drop since the patch (PS4). Still getting reasonable drops of gold material from crafting daily writs but that may only be because I have several characters doing them every day.

No way i can afford to make all my items to gold again.
Uh no ZOS is actually removing vet ranks with U10 the dark brotherhood update or so they are saying.
Really in the last three weeks between writs and gathering I have got tempering alloy.
I can't get a dreugh wax to save my life.
Some people play this game as traders. Most of their stock are resales. When i as crafter put tempers on sale, these people often buy it all away from market to maintain their price levels. But i believe they are not really destroying market because there is no single AH and they operate on relatively thin profit and with future risk. Rising prices after each new DLC attract more people to farm and to do writs, increasing supply.but yet there is a guy selling over a 1000 of them in the store, others have 100's to sell. Couple people are single handedly destroying the market and my guess is the Zos is seeing how many are in the market and adjusting RNG to compensate.

No, there has not been any stealth nerfs in IC, Wrothgar nor TG. Refinery drop rate has not changed during past year. It is 5%, that is one golden temper from stack of 200, retested after every major patch with at least 10 000 mats. My total statistics are from way over 100 000 mats. Ores, cloths, leathers and plants all have same drop rate.

If you get more than 1 drop per 200 raw material, you are lucky, if you get less than 1 per 200 raw materials you are unlucky.
It IS random, so sometimes it takes 6-700 mats to get a drop, and sometimes you get 12 drops out of that amount.
We humans are fundamentally unable to understand randomness and try to apply patterns to it in order to make it predictable which cause us in this game to come up with all kind of conspiracy theories about drop rates.
A standing joke in my clan is that if someone is unucky with the drops, then it is because they haven't killed enough goats and dedicated them as sacrifice to the RNG.
Lately for me it's been about 1:500-ish for Tempering Allow, 1:1000 for Dreugh Wax, 1:350 for Rosin, and about 1:300 for Perfect Roe. Lately I've been having a ridiculously hard time getting Dreugh Wax and I blame the sorc mudcrab farming bots.
