Weighted trait, increased weapon attack speed, doesn't seem to effect speed of staff heavy attacks..

There doesn't seem to be an increase in the speed of my flame staff heavy attack with the weighted trait. Can anyone confirm this and is this working as intended? If it isn't supposed to effect my staff heavy attacks then what is it supposed to do? My staff heavy attack is considered a weapon attack is it not? Or because it's a magic weapon it won't be effected?

I think the trait is broken but just no-body cares about it to ask ZOS to fix it :/

If broken and no plans to fix it to do what it was intended to do, then why not change it to something that players will use?

Because, like everything else going wrong with this game, ZOS hasnt come up with a way to market it for crowns yet. Nothing gets fixed unless it directly results in revenue.

More like ZoS knows that no one uses light or heavy attacks back to back, but instead animation cancels them, making the trait completely useless even if it worked perfectly.

So this is very low down on the priority list.

So it should be changed. Weighted could just as easily reduce stamina and magicka costs instead

At one point, I really wanted to use Weighted so that I could proc Merciless Resolve quicker.
Real shame it doesn't work though but honestly if it doesn't work, the least they could do is change it to the Stamina equivalent of Nirnhoned and give Physical Pen and Resist

But instead of reducing the animation by some small %, you can clip the whole animation by using animation cancelling. Waiting on the full animation to finish, even with the (working) trait would most definitely end up being a DPS loss in any scenario.

So yes, they need to rework this.

Well how you are putting it only way I can see weighted being any good is if ZOS got rid of animation cancellation completely which me personally am not apposed too.

Like weighted does kinda prove that ZOS never intended animation cancellation but after all the post and this and that about it and probably not knowing how to remove it or to lazy too then decided that it be easier and "make them look better" when they said "oh we put it in on purpose and don't plan on removing it".

Like why even have weighted if they "intended" players just to scrap the animation of attacks going even faster than the weighted trait gives.

Animation cancelling was a bug at first, and ZOS decided it was going to be too difficult to 'fix' so they just made it an 'intended feature'.

Like I keep saying, they need to completely change the weighted trait, it doesnt work with this system. Having weighted reduce ability stamina/magicka costs would be a good solution.

How so? I gave no hard numbers. You can already get cost reduction via jewelry enchants, champion points, and armor passives.

    just as a possibility:
Common weighted trait: 1% stamina/magicka cost reduction
    Uncommon: 2%
    Rare: 3%
    Epic: 4%
    Legendary: 5%

Whatever it is, if anyone is going to use the trait it has to be made competitive with other options. You have to look at a trait and go "hey, that might actually be worth giving up 3% crit chance, or 5% damage reduction.

Ok, from an animation canceling perspective, Weighted is useless.
What about the chance to restore resources though? A medium attack doesn't give me anything.
    It has its uses.

Btw I didn't know it was broken. And from launch.

I've read somewhere that it reduces the time you have to wait between actual skills, but I never tested it.

It doesn't do that, unfortunately. The only thing Weighted trait does that is useful is that it allows you to make a series of back-to-back light attacks a little quicker. This could be useful for someone using the Shield Breaker set with a bow, for example. In my tests, Weighted trait does NOTHING to make heavy attacks or abilities fire quicker.

Actually i don't believe you can animation cancel resto heavy (i think the animation goes away but you're still locked until the duration is over)

However, I remember someone pointing out that weighted works, just it removes something like .2 seconds from the heavy attack time. Which I doubt would be noticed. I could be wrong, im not one PC so I can only guess at some times.

I too have noticed something off with Weighted.
It works well with regular light att spamming
BUT it does not work whe your tryna wind up a heavy att. It doesnt get the speed increased at all.

ZOS really needs to think about redesigning all the useless traits to be actually useful for something.
I mean, Charged, Powered and Weighted are completely useless, just like Well-Fitted and Sturdy are for Armor

Charged should restore some of the enchantment charge on your weapon when you kill something, with a cooldown effect of course so that you can't just have infinite charge on your weapon enchantment
Powered should be the Stamina version of Nirncrux
Weighted should increase damage of light/heavy attacks

Well-Fitted should offer a speed boost or reduce the cost of sneaking as well as sprinting.
Sturdy should increase the effectiveness of healing effects on you.

    Just my thoughts.

Weighted seems to me like it should increase the damage of light and heavy attacks by a % not make them faster...

Either way I had a weapon with it once and it did not seem to have any effect on my weaving so I never used it again.
