I get that the only differences are the torn up cape and the covered thighs but to me, the Altmer hero costume was an iconic piece of armour. Its on the damned launcher for goodness sake. I was so dead set on buying this and would have, if they had at least attempted to make the cloak and keep the skirt the way it was.

They did make an effort to make it similar but it seems to me they couldnt be bothered to add in capes. Yeah this game dosent have capes but I dont see why not except that they thought that "it would be too much work". Well, in response imma have to say, I aint paying you guys for half-f costumes. The male version of this looks lame as balls too. I would literally be paying 2k crowns for something that only my sorc can wear and what's worse is that its a cheap low grade copy of the actual Altmer hero costume.

Maybe by the time they get to the Breton costume they would have learnt their lesson. One can only hope. Its like I WANT to give them my crowns. But they keep pushing out weird stuff like neutered bankers that cost 5k and costumes that look about as good as crafted gear. Hell, crafted gear is even better cos we can DYE THEM.....

Today I started wondering - how come ZOS left the boob window on this one if they thought the thighs required censoring? Which brings another thought - what if 2 weeks down the road they decide to cover up the cleavage too?

Ahh. That explains it. The in-game model is made to match the Bethesda Store item. It also says they are not going to change it, since changing the collectable would be unlikely.

Hey, just warning that this costume is being offered fot a limited time only, and it can be a long time until they put it up for sale again if ever. The corseted outfit and all mounts currently on the Crown Store are permanent additions.

It's probably an issue of exposure (no pun intended). Few players will own or even see the figure, but all players will likely have seen the cinematic at least once, if not more often, as it is available at the push of a button to anyone who owns the game (and available online for anyone who doesn't). So it is reasonable to conclude that the vast majority of those who might purchase this costume will be familiar with the version shown in the opening cinematic.

Well,I just bought it and came here to say that it looks very nice,..but for the hood.While I am glad it doesnt have the mask,it still looks quite odd,like its made of wool,while the rest is made of leather.
It looks just fine on either male or female bodies too.I dont get any bloating,but my male character did get his hips shrunk a bit.Like he's rather slender from the waist down. Not too much though.
I dont regret the purchase.

Funny because after saying that I wouldn't buy it because of posted images, but then I actually previewed it in the Crown Store and bought it because it actually looks awesome on my main character.

I hope their lack of sales reflects on this decision and whoever decided to add pants to the females gets called out

No they didn't. What they did was put tights on her. She still wears the skirt, she still wears the boots.

I absolutely hate it. First, it makes my characters' breasts looks abnormally large. I understand the hero herself has larger breasts, but my characters do not, so why, when I put this costume on, should their breasts just automatically grow way larger. I could have overlooked that, but when I saw what it looked like with the hood on, that was the final "no" for me. My female toons look BALD under the hood. No thanks.

It actually looks pretty decent. It even has that slight armor vibe to it that I really like. But unfortunately, I always viewed the scarf in the cinematic as the centerpiece of the costume. It added just enough of a rogue-ish factor to make it an insta-buy item for me. There's just something about it.....

Of course, I don't trust ZOS with scarf/cape physics so I understand why it was cut (they barely have their long hair under control let alone clothing physics), but couldn't they at least leave the part that was around the neck? Maybe not even as a scarf bit, but as a really cool looking undershirt that gives a similar effect (think of it like a taken down cloth face mask).
