Tips on gold making ?

Zyrenia
Zyrenia
Im currently lvl 9 and trying to make some money...

I've so far realised i dont really need to repair my gear since i change them before they break, saving some gold.
I lvl all professions that we have acces to by the materials i find, not sure if its a profit or a money sink, but i want to be able to make them all byt the end.
I try to do all quests i can find.
Green / blue items i find i sell to players.

Any more tips you can give ?

If you're in Ebonheart: Bal Foyen's crafting area has lots of safeboxes which should net you some decent stuff and improve your lock picking under pressure as some are tightly guarded. However, these are available for every player and have a reset time so it could be slow.

In Daggerfall or Aldmeri, the starting banks are great. Just loot everything, log out and back in to reset them as these are instanced to per player (unlike safeboxes which are the opposite).

When your inventory is full, just go to the outlaw refuge and fence all the most valuable items first. There is a limit on this which can be increased (~+50%) when you unlock the relevant passive but after the first one you only get an increase of like 10 more so it's not really worthwhile going above one skill point invested.

Main thing: don't get caught by the guards (white health bar) as they will take all of your stuff if you pay the ransom or they kill you (should you decide to flee).

Regarding crafting and professions: it is possible for you to learn everything although it may leave you short of skill points. The best advice I can give if you're playing with friends is to split these out:
    - Clothing, Blacksmithing and Woodworking fit nicely together due to learning motifs however Woodworking can be split apart.
    - Alchemy (in my opinion this is the most important come max level) and Provisioning also do but these can be split out depending on your number of friends
    - Enchanting should be done by two people because it's hard to level and in this case, crafting and getting the other to deconstruct is useful.

Legerdemain is one of the best money making skills. Only you can sell them 60 items a day. (I think)
Just steal everything and sell the green and above items to the fence merchants in any of the outlaw refugees.
The safe boxes at merchants contain green and above items and gold. So these boxes are a good farming option

    Hope this helps.

Farming motif pages is also a good way to make money.
Wrothgar daily dungeon quests rewards can drop Trinimac motif pages.
Wrothgar group boss quests rewards can drop Malacath motif pages.
Bosses in Wrothgar public dungeons can drop Ancient Orc motif pages.
Ad chests in Cyrodiil can drop Alliance motif pages.

You can increase this to 140 items with the Legerdemain passives.

PVP rewards are also nice to make a profit, I make little over 540k gold last week.

Do all the quests in Hew's Bane. There are the ones for the Thieve's Guild, and side ones as well. Some are repeatable, every day. It's kinda like a not so boring grind once you have done them all once. They're a lot of fun,in my opinion. :)

You'll never make much gold crafting equipment for others, because it's so easy to level and there are many, many, many crafters out there. Making food, potions, and glyphs can be a reliable income, but it won't make you rich. Join a trade guild, look at what items sell for good prices and plan accordingly. Farming resources can be very profitable. Some of the things that sell well include popular potion ingredients, raw and refined crafting mats, some enchanting runes, tempers from refining mats. As mentioned, motifs sell for high prices, but mostly for newly released styles. One thing easy for anyone is fishing. Filleting fish can yield Perfect Roe, which sells quickly around 8k. Many other items are good for trading. Like I said, check the trading history for a trade guild to get some ideas.

I find leveling crafting to be quite profitable and worthwhile as a means of both generating income and saving cash as well by making your own.

Once you are 10/10 in a craft (been too long since I was lower to really recall) the writs net you about 700gold plus a few items which can often be a gold temper or aspect rune which sells great!

While these writs do take up resources it seems to generally be a net gain in resources from the consumable surveys you occasionally get and with the straight gold plus maybe a gold item every 3-4 days can get you a VERY easy 20-30k gold a week per craft.

Even Provisioning which may not be nearly as profitable per day has the rare chance you get a fragment of psijic ambrosia which can sell for 15-35k (granted its been awhile since I've really looked) as well.

Wrothgar daily world bosses and the daily delve are nice for motifs. You can make a few alts to farm them, and even at lvl 3 you can get in a group for them. Of course that's if you have the dlc.

Honestly just ask around for a veteran trading guild, whisper the guildmaster and tell him you intend to sell flowers and raw materials. You will most likely get an invitation, despite the veteran requirement for the guild.

Farm raw materials and flowers - check the prices in the stores for how much they are generally sold for. Fill up your 30 guildstore spots with the raw materials and flowers.

    Profit.

Btw. since you are level 9, stay away from battlescaled areas. You will end up dying many times over, and you probably don't have grand soul gems to ressurrect with.

    Battlescaled locations:
    • Cyrodiil
    • Imperial City
    • Wrothgar
    • Hews Bane

and here is why you will most likely die many times over :p
All enemies in battlescaled locations are v16, you will be scaled to v15.
Your scaling will heavily depend on what gear you wear and the quality of it.

You said you don't bother repairing armor, because you change it for new loot - well if you are wearing random looted gear, then already there you will miss huge buffs from battlescaling, and specially if you don't put on the right enchantments. Wait with these locations till you have levelled up a bit, gained some experience and skillpoints.

Raw mats and flowers and runes.

Runes won't fetch high prices (expect the higher level aspect runes), but they sell like hotcakes at high traffic traders because hardly anyone stocks them.

Plus, loot the containers for motifs and recipes. Some of us have a skooma-like addiction to getting them all.

The issue is in your crafting strategy OP. At low levels I was only leveling up blacksmithing for armor and provisioning and I was selling everything else. When you break everything down or research it you lose a lot of potential income. Not that selling the stuff to vendors gives you much but over time especially at early levels that's your primary source of gold.
I don't always drink Skooma, but when I do I go to the Southwall Corner Club. May you walk on warm sands my friends.

He means four times the items created, also multiplying your profit (I'd assume). Idk off the top of my head but it is the one that says "Increases servings of any food made by x" with a cap of 4 items per function.
