They've said that they won't be doing that. No high level gear with low level design.
They -have- done it themselves. Just look at the dropped weapons... I have several high-end weapons of agility and so on with nice iron/steel looks...

All I want is the same for crafted weapons. Nothing more. No pink swords, just the option of choosing to make them look good and match the rest of the outfit. Either by choosing crafting material visuals, or by "metallic colors" dye options...

What i dont understand why VR 15 and VR 16 weapon get red color why could ZoS just made all have same steel color as low lvl weapon have i think red is worst color on weapon.

Other ZoS change color so all weapon no matter what lvl the have "normal" color aka look like steel or gave us alternative change color ourself.

I don't understand this great fear of pink weapons that people have. Are glowing red weapons really that much better than those horrible pink fantasy greatswords that haunts everyone's nightmares?
If people want to run around in pink, they can already do so with full pink armor and shields. So why would a pink weapon be such a big deal?

My own personal opinion is that the end game red weapons are narrowing the options for visual customization. Not everyone wants to dye their armor red. My main character's armor, for example, is dyed black and grey and that makes the bright red weapons more protruding than I would like.
The only option for a more neutral looking weapon is the glass style, but the design of that weapon doesn't look good with the xivkyn armor style...

A lot of people have already requested it. The biggest issue is weapon dye's looking unrealistic and stupid. However Zos can filter that out by making only realistic colors available. Also only metallic based looking colors.

We have jacked orcs running around in snow white wedding dresses for pity's sake.. how immersion breaking a pink sword can be while the rest of the armor can be colored?

Im guessing its on the list but theyre too busy with other more important things right now

Agreed. In fact, I'm hoping they improve character customization further - like give us a new UI to keep customizing our characters' looks intuitive.

Prefer Red as opposed to someone going around with a rainbow as a weapon.
People would have the biggest 2h Axe available on their backs with every color under the sun on it just to blind people with the vomit they made.

But they can already do this with their armor...so why is it more painful if they do it with their weapon too?

I'm not opposed to what you're saying, I agree that people can come up with some completely awful color combinations. And not always on purpose. But they're already doing this with armor, so I don't see how allowing it for weapons would make it any more irritating, as most weapons are going to be less obtrusive than the armor.

Admittedly, I'm against being able to customize the color of your weapon's "aura." If it has an "aura" due to an enchantment or unique effect, that should correspond to that enchantment or effect.

Because they said dyeing weapons is immersion breaking or something like that, yet we can already dye armor pink and are forced to use bright red swords.

How is dyeing them silver, like normal blades, not an option?

It is that color because of the material used. Therefore, the red colors on swords are natural. To dye them silver would in fact be immersion breaking. ☺

i would love to see weapon dying, though it would need a restraint or two

    such as

you are only allowed to dye the metal parts of the weapon the color of the avaible material metal, example:
    rubedite can be colored orihalcum

i do not want to see pink or neon colors on metal weapons

Wood is whatever, its paint, go nuts

I'd love to be able to dye my weapons. I would hope this is coming in the future, since they implemented shield dying already.

Weapon dying. It's the last piece of dye we need, and I think it will be a good thing for the game. Not everyone likes the default colors since they don't look good usually. People who have worked hard and spent so much time to get their colors would probably make something cool looking rather than something silly. I'm all in for it, and I really hope it will be added sometime.

Will this even happen? Right now I'm wearing an all black Assassin's League outfit and my bow is like a bright tan color. Totally ruins the aesthetic of what I'm going for. the Style of the bow fits, but that color is horrendously wrong and off putting to see on my back

Seriously. ZOS, we are overdue in this. You're already making us run around with bright ruby red weapons, so don't give us any more crap about bright pink or whatever. All I want to do is make my weapons look like regular iron or steel! GIVE US THE OPTION, we already can dye our shields which you said you didn't want us to do! Just make the full plunge! C'mon! I'll bribe you with moon sugar cookies if I have to!

I'm trying to understand your logic here because the color of Rubedite is red, and we craft HEAVY armor from Rubedite... but we CAN dye Rubedite heavy armor... but we cannot dye Rubedite weapons... this does not make any type of logical sense. If you can dye the same material that makes heavy armor, logically, why can't you dye a weapon made from the same material?!?

Last word from ZOS on this was that they were having 'heated discussion' internally about this, with no decision being made. I personally think this is yet another one of their decisions that does fits in the category of 'poor'... players should have more options, not less... and if pink heavy armor isn't 'immersion breaking' then why would pink weapons? Also, I guarantee there wouldn't be a huge population of people running around with pink weapons, just like you don't see a lot of pink armor.

Is weapon dyeing coming into the game at all?

Recently made a pair of V16 faction swords and they look like plastic swords with that red blade, at least with voidstone the blade was black and not so garish.

I know some people like the colour, but at least give us the choice, please add weapons in the Armour/Shield dyeing menus.

I could see the three options you can dye being, Blade/Head of Staff, Shaft, and Wrap/Grip

    Thank you.

They have stated in an eso live like a year ago that they don't want to add dyes to swords because it can be immersion breakung. I.e. people running around with pink weapons. Also, I wonder if it was even possible to dye a steel sword. That may be another consideration they made. Although, I think at least dyeing some aspects of weapons makes sense such as the grip or the qu8vers.

Thats so stupid of them to say.
Like The game doesnt have silly red almost Pink weapons (rubidite). Let us be able to improve them with weapon dyes please..

I think their immersion breaking excuse that they say too often is holding them back from adding alot of Great stuff that this game is lacking, i never found The game to be immersive anyway.
Sure it is more immersive than other mmos but it is not The reason i play eso for

I want dye for weapons sure, but i would really like something like the costumes for weapons and shields. I would love to have a set glamour of say the Imperial soldiers from the opening cinema that would work even on sets that I cant just change with my Imperial edition.

Who cares? You would choose to not implement an amazing customization feature (a feature we've wanted since the game launched) because "some" players may inconvenience your eyes? They already are doing that with armor and shields. You actually think adding weapons would make a huge difference?

I don't know about you but I spend most of my time playing the game and looking at my own character, not looking at everyone who runs by.
