I wanted to know how much the decay rate on Bounty was when you got high enough up there, so I turned on kill innocents and went on a rampage. I started slaughtering the helpless around Mournhold and pilfering their dead bodies. Guards around this town are few and multiple water features to escape to in case they do chase me, made it the perfect place to try this out. After getting a high enough bounty I would log out and check every hour, the amount of decay is about 1000g per hour.

This may be useful information for those who want to go on a killing spree before logging out, estimate the time you'll be back on by 1000g for each hour you'll be gone. I probably would put it at 1000 less so if you'll be back in 8 hours, try to stop around 7000g; by the time you return you're a upstanding citizen again and nobody to harass you for being a homicidal psychopath. Also a great way to get that achievement for killing friendly NPC's.

Were you the level 20-something naked nord who was punching NPCs in EU/EP? If so, you provided some of us a good deal of entertainment.

I tested this out once pre-Thieves Guild, and the rate at which your bounty drops was 23 gold every three minutes. Of course, with the TG passives it can go much higher, and now I can just run around causing a ruckus without worrying too much about my bounty.

Lol, I got my bounty up to 200000 killing the npc around dragon star arena. It took days to get rid of it,lol

With rank 4 in Swiftly Forgotten you lose 106 Bounty every 3 minutes (59 Heat every 3 seconds). That translates to 2120g/hr. It's worth the skill points if you're really into stealing stuff (and a total scrub at not getting caught).

Or if you want to kill people in the face for whatever reason, whether it's for the Achievement or because you're simply a blood thirsty serial killer. No judgement.
