why are you so obsessed with realism? it's a game with goblins, dragons, giants, undead, magic, and vampires. we can't have any heavy armors for female figures in the name of realism, when we can still cast a spell for armor protection? last i checked there aren't any armor spells in real life. video games are supposed to have a degree of unrealistic things in them in order to make them fun and more customizable to all players.
hey, if you wanna be extremely realistic, have it so ZOS makes it so females can't equip heavy armor or 2 handed weapons. most women don't have the body type or strength or body type to do that either, so in the name of realism, women can only wear medium/light armor and cast magic now! yay, hooray for realism!!

Most men don't have the body type or strength for that either, but I guess your pursuit of pigeonholed gender expectations blinded you to that. Don't be a nerd. Also, all the old "boob plate" models still exist, they're just making new armor models that are more than reskins and which have their own geometry. This includes things like more protective-looking breastplates.

that works more to my point. if most men are not able to wield 2 handed weapons and wear heavy armor, and women are much weaker than men, and you all care about realism and armor protection so much so that there can't be heavy armor breast plates, then surely you would have it so women can't equip 2 handed weapons or heavy armor, right?

btw, these changes were not done to make armor look more protective. they were done out of laziness. they are deliberately only using male models and simply morphing them a little bit to put them on female characters. update yourself with this thread here; http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/257543/zos-please-reconsider-your-decision-to-no-longer-make-female-light-armor/p1

Oh my goodness it's like talking to marshmallow fluff. I was trying to imply that there is a lot of variability between individuals of a given gender and thus you can't just make a rule across them like "women can't wear heavy armor", but you went and doubled down on the flagrant sexism so here we are.
Here is the wikipedia article on female bodybuilding, for your education. Careful, the images inside might be highly emasculating.
Here is a picture of a super skinny nerd man.
Women are not "much weaker than men", there is an enormous amount of variability among our species in terms of strength and it is not split along a strict gender line. Trying to appeal to realism while having a fundamental misunderstanding of human biology is not going to win you any points.
There's a huge difference between asking for some skimpier outfits so you can manage your... " fun and customization" better, is one thing. Being incredibly sexist is another. Also, ZOS already went ahead and offered skimpier costuming options through the Crown Store. Find one there that tickles your fancy.

0.00000001% of women are body builders. i fail to see your point. yes certain individuals can break the mold, but you saying women are equally as strong as men because there is a tiny amount of female body builders is like me saying humanity is super intelligent when only 0.07% of people have an IQ above 140. so clearly you're wrong. try this on for size -

but this is getting off topic. my beef here is the fact that because of you feminists threaten to give ESO a bad/sexist reputation, we no longer get unique female armors and instead get male armors that are distorted a little bit for females. this game is a fantasy game. realism should not be such a big deal in video games, especially ones with magic and dragons. i'm a male that plays only female characters, and i don't want my females looking awkward because of pressure put on by feminists to "never have anything have the slightest resemblance of femininity or sexuality if it's unrealistic." i want this game to be fun and have all out characters able to look cool and dynamic, without all this pressure for everything to be 100% realistic with the real world. plus, ESO takes place in a different universe. the laws of physics on nirn may be different to that on earth, making it feasible for women to be protected while wearing breastplates. i'm simply here to stop people like you from taking the fun out of everything and making all our characters look bland and boring.

women and men are both too weak to wield a sword these days. yes, what i'm saying is if ESO is so obsessed with realism that they can't give females decent looking feminine heavy armor, then they should also not allow women to wield swords either in the name of realism. it's called.. being consistent. why only be realistic in women's armor, but not be realistic in women wielding swords? if you're going to be unrealistic in one aspect, then be unrealistic in all aspects and have fun with the characters armor and designs. make it look good instead of making it look realistic. i'm not asking for skimpier armor, i'm asking for cooler looking female armor. there's a huge difference.

Golly gosh it's like trying to ford across the Mississippi except it's made of molasses. I wasn't saying that men and women are equally strong, I was saying that individual specimens vary too widely to pigeonhole an entire gender into not being able to "realistically" wear heavy armor or wield two-handed weapons. You're trying to reinforce your argument with realism but you're arguing comparative averages on a matter of classification, it's ludicrous. Data scientists everywhere are crying and it's your fault. If you aren't seeing where you went wrong in your train of thought then you need to take a discrete math or statistics course or something, because you are misapprehending how to support an argument on a fundamental level.
Also, you're making up arguments I never said. I don't have an issue with "sexy" things, I don't have an issue with "unrealistic" armor, I only take issue with specific things about some of the earlier armor in the game. Specifically, I took issue with how many of the torso pieces didn't seem to have their own geometry, and were instead skin-tight on the character model. This was an issue for both male and female character types. Beyond that, there were already plenty of unrealistic armor pieces, like the ones with giant shoulders or spiky bits. You can feel free to voice your opinion about wanting form-fitting boob cups, but it looks pretty childish to complain when someone brings up an opposing opinion. And, as I stated before, you can go buy one of the Crown Store outfits if you really want to check out your character's rack all day.Pepsi2853_ESO wrote: »also, on a side note, what is up with you and calling people nerds? what are you, a stereotypical high school bully from the 1980s, lmfao. grow up. that's pathetic.
It's a joke. :-p We're all playing an MMORPG, we're all clearly nerds. From one nerd to another, I beseech you to turn from your wicked ways. Stop trying to limit other peoples' options. Not every armor piece needs to have the same torso model. Metal boob cups were never a good idea. Let it gooooo.

why are you so obsessed with realism? it's a game with goblins, dragons, giants, undead, magic, and vampires. we can't have any heavy armors for female figures in the name of realism, when we can still cast a spell for armor protection? last i checked there aren't any armor spells in real life. video games are supposed to have a degree of unrealistic things in them in order to make them fun and more customizable to all players.
hey, if you wanna be extremely realistic, have it so ZOS makes it so females can't equip heavy armor or 2 handed weapons. most women don't have the body type or strength or body type to do that either, so in the name of realism, women can only wear medium/light armor and cast magic now! yay, hooray for realism!!
0.00000001% of women are body builders. i fail to see your point. yes certain individuals can break the mold, but you saying women are equally as strong as men because there is a tiny amount of female body builders is like me saying humanity is super intelligent when only 0.07% of people have an IQ above 140. so clearly you're wrong. try this on for size -
" - When fat-free mass is considered, men are 40% heavier (Lassek & Gaulin, 2009; Mayhew & Salm, 1990) and have 60% more total lean muscle mass than women. Men have 80% greater arm muscle mass and 50% more lower body muscle mass (Abe, Kearns, & Fukunaga, 2003). Lassek and Gaulin (2009)note that the sex difference in upper-body muscle mass in humans is similar to the sex difference in fat-free mass in gorillas (Zihlman & MacFarland, 2000), the most sexually dimorphic of all living primates. "
but this is getting off topic. my beef here is the fact that because of you feminists threaten to give ESO a bad/sexist reputation, we no longer get unique female armors and instead get male armors that are distorted a little bit for females. this game is a fantasy game. realism should not be such a big deal in video games, especially ones with magic and dragons. i'm a male that plays only female characters, and i don't want my females looking awkward because of pressure put on by feminists to "never have anything have the slightest resemblance of femininity or sexuality if it's unrealistic." i want this game to be fun and have all out characters able to look cool and dynamic, without all this pressure for everything to be 100% realistic with the real world. plus, ESO takes place in a different universe. the laws of physics on nirn may be different to that on earth, making it feasible for women to be protected while wearing breastplates. i'm simply here to stop people like you from taking the fun out of everything and making all our characters look bland and boring.
If you aren't seeing where you went wrong in your train of thought then you need to take a discrete math or statistics course or something, because you are misapprehending how to support an argument on a fundamental level.

we agree more than we disagree then. my whole thread was about making it so that ESO continues to make armor models specifically for females instead of having female armors just be distorted male armors. that includes the heavy armor, light armor, and medium armor. at the rate at which ESO is going now with their decision to no longer make female models, every model for female armors will be the same male looking armors here on out. i'm simply begging for ESO to go back to making female armor so that there is that extra diversity and option of looks between male and females.
