awsome, is it best to rush through the story mission to level up or grind mobs?

This depends on what kind of player you are and whether you're apt to get bored if you're over-leveled for content. The quickest way to level IMO is grinding... but realize that during the anniversary week, many grinding spots will be flooded with players- so if you can, group with them.

However, keep in mind that grinding will quickly make you over-leveled for quest locations... which means that going back and doing quests after grind-leveling means gaining NO XP for enemy kills, you'll only be gaining XP when you turn in quests. For me, I don't have a problem with being over-leveled for content, so I typically grind mobs to level then go back and finish the quests. With my new main, I was VR3 before I started quests in the first zone... granted, I did complete the 'starter' AD zone- Khenarthi's Roost... but then immediately went grinding after that. Needless to say I'm now almost VR8 and just started Cadwell's Silver yesterday. ;) I fully expect to reach VR16 before the end of the week thanks to the anniversary week XP boost... and taking a day's vacation just to play more.

Say what now? Last I checked Nightblades need to spam cloak and soul tether to do anything in fights now. Oh and Proximity Detonation. I've not yet encountered a Nightblade who doesn't go stealth, approach you, start spamming Sap Essence or Soul Terher while using Proximity Detonation. Oh. And I forgot to mention the rouges who still love the Ambush and Concealed Weapon spam. Lol.

And believe it or not, there was a time when people insulted players horribly for using pets. Talked about how pets were stupid and wanted them gone. My oh my how things have changed. Lol.

thanks, you pretty much answered my next question. i don't get bored from grinding, and since I've completed Cadwell's gold on my main character i don't feel like i'm missing out on the game. ill just have to run through later and pick up the skyshards and story skill points.

will XP potion and XP scrolls stack? should i start using them during VR ranks or right away?

Sorcerers kinda suck for PvE honestly.

Nightblade is the most rounded and versatile class, you can switch between pve and pvp easily, do good damage in both.

Say what now? Sorcerers kinda suck for PVE, eh? So Nightblades are superior to sorcerers via your opinion, eh? Lol. Let me know when Nightblades catch up to sorcerers in VMA completion. Or! Better yet! Let me know when Nightblades can withstand as much damage as a sorcerer. M'kay?
Probably the only thing they are good at would be Maelstrom but that's because of the shields and overload. And stop basing this because of how much damage you can withstand, VMA really has nothing to do with it. The top players are probably people who are never going to give strategies out and Overload is a pretty nice ultimate and works very well for VMA but hes asking for PvE and PvP.
Unless this guy is going to be playing with hardcore players he wont see nice DPS on a sorcerer without overloading and judging from his post, I doubt he knows how to use and work overload properly

Not true, Sorc becomes stronger than all other classes at Vet16 with Gold gear set.
Where are you people getting this information from? Sorcerers have very weak AoE due to class passives, there are no skills you can really use for single target if you want to get good DPS

The rotations are very bland requiring you to use Crushing Shock / Force Pulse, the class has no DoTs and rely heavily on overload being at 1000 Ultimate which means your other fights are lacking in DPS as you save ultimate.

This is for PvE dont get me wrong the class has amazing burst for PvP but to say it's the strongest class in PvE I have to disagree with you because of the weak damage it puts out if you're not relying on your Overload.

Nightblades are well rounded and can switch between PvE and PvP quite easily, you have strong AoE, a lot of set ups to do and in PvP you can destroy zergs with cheese builds.

Nightblades are clearly the flavor of the patch class.

He was referring to group pve like trials. Not many really care/compete in VMA and just run it for the weapon, and sorcerer is pretty much built for solo play. In group pve (trials) sorc is good in a short fight. In longer fights they aren't "bad" per se, but don't appear to be on the level of other classes in MoL.

Nightblade on the other hand can put up high numbers in burst and sustained situations while bringing a crit buff. With a handful of skill-swaps they're also really good in pvp.

Dragonknight is high dps in group pve and solid but not great in solo instances like VMA. In pvp their damage isn't great but they're still decent for group pvp or duels, open world they're pretty rough atm.

I don't know enough about templar to really comment.

Altmer is clearly superior to Breton on a magicka sorcerer since you get the extra damage done, and in pvp you're supposed to use shields - which have 0 armor and spell resistance. Dunmer is a pretty good option for a sorc as well if you use fire. But Altmer is better in general.

No offence, but I am not saying sorc is the No1 class in all DPS/tank/heal but they are good in all fields.

Like NB are good for burst DMG but low in defence, DK are good in tanking, Templar for healing and Sorc are good in all three roles.

So, OP make a magicka Sorc and you won't regret it.

well, with the new summon changes, id say sorcerer is the best way to go, since the morphs for the summons allow healing skills ((something that was drastically needed)) id say the sorcerer is very good PVE, i cant speak for pvp but i think it would hold up well

Saying that sorcerers are the stronger just because for a small share of skilled players VMA is easier than with other classes is totally wrong.

But I agree that DKs are one of the hardest. When you think about magicka you hardly think about close-combat. A DK pyromancer is very powerful, but it's very hard to handle as they constantly need to recast their DoTs.

Sorc is a whole lot of fun in pvp, but pretty bland in pve. They can pve for sure but the rotation is limited and relies on rng to burst. To do sustained dps is a 1 button click with overload, no strategy or skill.

Pvp is fast and furious though, sorc is probably the twitchiest playstyle. They have great tools for pvp (for both solo and group play) and excel at mobility, cc and single target burst damage. They're not so hot at aoe. People go on about how survivable they are too, but honestly if they don't run away they're less survivable than some, it's not a stand your ground class. You have to work at staying alive, just like any class in pvp. Don't believe people that tell you sorcs faceroll, they only faceroll against bad opponents; they die quickly to good opponents that understand game mechanics and/or run a setup that counters sorcs. Any class can 1vX tyros if played by a good player.

I have been playing only sorc for over a year now I think. I have 2 v16 sorcs. 1 is dps and 1 is tank. I suck at tanking though since I have only done it a few times. I couldn't pass vicp as tank with 30k physical spell resist and 30k sheild. I would like to blame my group but It was probably just me.

Dps sorc is a lot of fun and some decent tanking abilities. It does take a while to get the hang of. I am now rolling a magblade. The new fotm class. I have seen so many new mageblades grinding along side me. Tbh I think mageblades can be pretty damn tanky. The ultimate generation is really good for nightblades and soul tether pretty much gives you 10 seconds where you just can't die no matter what the damage is you are taking. Infinite cloak is pretty cool, it's pretty much the hardened Ward of nightblades.

Magicka DK = highest PvE dps with last update (taking a flame damage build into consideration).

Magicka Sorc = high PvE dps and indestructible in PvP with stupid strong barrier spam (mix the barriers with proxy det/vicious death and you will look down upon lesser mortals in PvP)

Templars = Decent damage, and very very high sustainability. Good for PvP and PvE. Not to mention the JESUS BEAM!

Nightblades = ................they're good I guess. Definitely no bias here. Move along.
