Which Magica class is the best for PVE and PVP

Currently im a Stamplar, and with 2X xp coming up i wanna start a second character that is magica based.
i main PVE but also do PVP occasionally. What would you recommend as the best magica class and race.

Magicka Nightblade is the best all-around build.

Mag DK can pull off the highest DPS in game
Mag Sorcs are great for both PvE and PvP all around
MagBlades have great sustain
Mag Templars are the best healers... and they have their own house

I'd say mag templar or mag blade for the easiest

Mag Sorc nd mag dk are a little more complicated pvp wise but all in all its what your preference is

Mag Sorcs are pretty beast in both PvE (they can do it all: tank, heal and DPS) and PvP

Your best bets for Sorc Race would be Altmer (extra Elemental Damage + Regen) or Breton (Reduced Spell Cost and Resist)

Dunmer could work if you use Fire Destro Staves, but imo both Altmer and Bretons are superior Magicka races for Sorcerers, since Sorcs do Lightning Damage, not Fire

Well now, that's a question you're asking the wrong guy Cuz I'm kinda biased since I like going through each zone and explore Tamriel. And I hate grinding

But with the Anniversary Event coming up, it might be best to grind for the week until it's over

If you like to just pile on shields and dash away when the going gets tough then sorcerer

every single sorcerer in pvp is the exact same with the exact same skills and exact same fighting style its so so so boring to look at let alone play.

nightblades can atleast switch it up from magicka to stamina and can play different styles. Sneak, in your face, from distance etc

Sorcs are the only class with a shield that scales off max magicka, so when they build for max dps, it makes their shield bigger at the same time. (All the other shields scale off max health.)

If leveling a new alt. I like to grind my toon to max level of the zone I'm gonna be in to collect all shards and do public dungeon for skill point and lore books so I can still gain xp for killing enemies in the public dungeon. Once all shards/lore books collected in zone grind again til max level for next zone and rinse and repeat. I like this way so I can break up some of the mindless grinding of mobs a bit.

Idk, pet build sorcs can be pretty interesting. I run one in PvP, I can 1vX all day, and I didn't even min max my race. Sorcs can have a variety of different builds. Night blades, well, they can too, but everyone has their flavor of the month "lets kill them before they can react and actually require a skill check for me to beat" builds. Nightblades just tend to attract that, what with their going invis and running away when the going gets tough.

There's no best one imo. All of them have their advantages and disadvantages.

Templars: Make great healers and DPS, can do stamsupport for the group. All skills have a casttime so they are a bit clunky in pvp.
Sorcs: Good DPS through Overload, without overload their dps is a bit behind.Great Survivability in PvP and deadly burstcombos.

Nightblades: High sustained DPS with nearly no ressource-issues. great tools for pvp.

DKs:High ST-DPS and high AoE-DPS. Good ressourcemanagement through ultimates. With the last changes they are good for pvp again. Good defensive tools available.

If attempting to do both PVE and PVP, then I highly advise you go with a Sorcerer for a magicka-based class. Specifically, a high elf Sorcerer. As a sorcerer you have: Burst DPS, class shield (Hardened Ward is superb), defensive pivots (deadric mines), high mobility (bolt escape and morphs), instant execution that also can "pop" while returning magicka via morph (Endless Fury), etc. The reasons could go on and on.

PS: Oh yeah. And rumor has it the queen of The Dominion has a "thing" for high elf sorcerers.

IMO I found nb too be much more versatile in vma,sorc is fine just no frills.

Not true, Sorc becomes stronger than all other classes at Vet16 with Gold gear set.

They are the best characters to complete vet maelstorm arena, the hardest thing to do right now with out dying and mostly sorcs all have that title of flawless conqueror. Gee i wonder why. Did i mention that they can tank and dps? oh is this the third time, yeah go sorc and slap that hoe with some magick det and vicious death.
