To nerf the Vicious Set - I don't mind the mechanics of this set, but it's not right to work really hard as a group to get to the entrance of the inner keep and then get blown away by 2-3 magicka nightblades with proxy-det. This set, the way it is, has just become too overpowered. It's literally a joke. It's making me lose interest in large battles.

    We asked for that countless times but it is now evident that they don't want to do that. What a shame. The PVP here could be the best any MMO has ever seen :''(

    This Set should've never been introduced and it is just a further example, that some (higher Level) responsible guys have a wrong understanding about pvp, especially about area effects: it all started in Fall 2014 with Steel Tornado, Magicka Detonation and the Vicious Set is just a further example of their shortcomings.
    If you really want to solve this problem, one guy behind all that AoE-related decisions should leave Zos, as nothing is going to change, if the structure behind that AoE-decisions stays untouched!

    For the time being, VD needs to remain in place, but you are correct that overall it shouldn't be a thing. It is sad that it was needed to begin with, but until AOE caps are removed (wouldn't hold your breath) this is the "solution" we're getting from the dev teams. Ball groups filled with trash players who teabag after a 20v1 are still roaming too freely, but VD is at least helping in the meantime.

    Ditto. I'm running it with proxy det now because it's the magicka counter to steel tornado/batswarm bomb -- the "counter" being my group might wipe yours before you wipe us -- but I still think it's processed cheese in a can.

    Feel like PVP has turned into prox/inev det with meteor with vicious death. That combo is insane and so many people are running this, also Sorc will throw curse on top of that. The timing of all those is way too OP. I really miss the old days where you could actually battle somebody for 30 secs in a fight.

    If you want to nerf, just nerf everything you can't avoid in PvP.
    Prox Detonation in group fe.

    Persons only using this 1 skill is veeerry boring.

    And things as Meteor, which you can't avoid IRL, it's possible in ESO...

    The damage is way to high, remove it or nerf it into the ground and remove AoE caps, that's all you need to do. If you remove AoE caps and people still can't wipe out raids then those particular people are not good enough for zerg bombs, plain and simple.

    No not really imho. I don't consider FF 1-2 people down to basically wipe an entire zerg much of a strategy.

    And the answer is none of the suggested. All they need to do is add a 3 sec delay between death and explosion. Simple, problem solved. (this will do what it I believe was intended, to break up zergs and cause chaos. My way however doesn't wipe entire zergs unless they aren't paying attention)

    you dont need VD to blow up groups and a nb, removing it will not stop it from happening, it just allowed other classes (like sorcerer etc) to wipe groups with ease. this build existed with nb before the set, its just harder to use without VD, but still extremely effective, people saw the armor which takes it to a whole new level, threw it on youtube, and now its a thing. use inner light/detect pots, dont all sit in super close proximity (pun intended) to each other when your around a keep or resource.

    I think we should leave it alone! I've had one death recap out of 100, without it and prox in a week of PvP. Obviously there is still 1 person not using it, therefore, it's a non issue. :D

    I don't mind if they leave it as it is.

    But there is a bug that makes the vicious death proc before there is an actual death(immediate 13k-20k damage), so even in 1v1, the player with the vicious death set has a significant advantage over the one who doesn't have it.
    I hope it will be fixed in the next incremental patch.

    I'd say a little less base damage but increase it based on the number of enemies within range. Also proxy det a little less base damage for 1v1, 1v2 etc, but more damage when you are hitting 10 people balled up together.

    It doesn't, that's a UI bug that makes it appear on your death recap even when it doesn't do any damage to the person who proc'ced it.

    It just feels so good to be able to wreck groups as a solo player. Especially now with the AP increase. That moment when you wipe a group of 6+ players on a resource, get 10k ap and another 10k tick :^)

    Fix prox det to be a zerg breaker, not a single target ability. You can hit someone for 10k just by a set it and forget it. Vicious death is fine
