I'm still LOL at anyone who forgot what stone they were using.

Thankfully a guildmate reminded me that I use The Goat Stone. :) Wonderful folks they are!

Just to clarify, did characters that only had one Mundus Stone buff have it removed?

Yes. I've never had the double mundus buff from the TBS set, or the mundus exploit and the mundus buff was removed from the first character I logged in this morning. Not sure about the others yet.

Mine was removed off my characters as well. I play on the NA PC server, by the name of Tevalaur. My main alt Naryssa Tavakkar also had her only buff removed. No time to check the others until after my doctor's appointment, will list their names later if gone as well.

And yes, all my characters only had one mundus buff. Tevalaur's only other buff was from a drink and still active.

    Hello,
After logging in I had no more mundus stone buff. I go and re apply the Shadow mundus and it does not seem to be working. Anyone else having an issue?
(Only used 1 buff on each character and no TBS gear---all buffs are gone!)

Don't know about that one. Atro and Serpent seem to be working, those are the only ones I've replaced so far.

Hey @ZOS_GinaBruno do you know if having Mundus Stones reset was intended to affect all characters with more than one Mundus Stone, legitimate or not (ie. including those using the Twice-Born Star set to have 2), or was it only intended to affect characters with more than one Mundus Stone via the exploit?

Because if it's the latter, and almost everyone has had their Mundus Stones reset even if they only had one buff, then I'm concerned that the root cause of the exploit hasn't actually been discovered, and the fix may not fix the actual issue.

I am wondering why you might think this. There are two parts of the fix, one is to prevent it from happening and the other is to clean up the mess. As the developer notes stated, they rewrote the way mundus stones are applied and how that is tracked. That covers the "prevent it from happening" part and that is in the code. The cleaning up part could be a one-time program they ran during maintenance against the database, or it could be special code that runs whenever the character logs in, but in both cases, it is likely completely different from the fix.

I have a feeling that there was no notice of this because it was an unintended consequence of the patch. If it did indeed take care of the problem, I can put up with a little inconvenience and go get the desired stone again.

Unfortunately a guildmate from one of my guilds said they had seen someone with 3 mundus stone buffs after the patch - so it doesn't look as though this has fixed every exploit anyway.

Hey guys, apologies for the delay while we figured everything out.

As most of you are probably aware, in today's patch we fixed the issue where you could obtain multiple Mundus Stone buffs. Along with this fix, we can confirm that all Mundus Stone buffs were removed from all player characters. The patch note stating that only additional Mundus Stone buffs will be removed is incorrect, and will be edited for accuracy. After today's patch, you will need to reacquire your preferred Mundus Stone buff. Moving forward, you will only be allowed one Mundus Stone buff at a time, or two buffs if using the Twice-Born Star item set.

Sorry for the confusion this caused!

In my experience until you can identify the common factor between all instances of a bug and reliably reproduce it, the odds are slim that you'll be able to correctly identify the underlying issue to do a fix that will actually solve the problem (rather than being a band-aid solution). Rewriting the way Mundus Stones are applied will only help if they correctly identified the underlying issue with the way they were applied before that allowed this exploit.

Of course, from the sounds of it they intended to remove all Mundus Stones anyway - it just didn't get communicated.

There are addons that show you what buffs/debuffs are active on a character when you hover over them. That's how I could tell this morning that the majority of the other players I encountered didn't have any Mundus Stone buffs.

Do you mean the patch notes that have recently been edited by Gina to say that? The ones that used to specifically say that only characters with multiple Mundus Stones would have theirs reset?

I had to laugh when Gina posted the correction. If the patch doesn't work as intended, then make it a feature and not a bug? :)
