How much fun can BDO be for players to spend their time here making pointless posts?
It's called they still care about this game and would prefer to be playing ESO if it wasn't so riddled with performance issues, however at some point, a game just physically functioning as advertised has become enough to make it a viable alternative to ESO.How much fun can BDO be for players to spend their time here making pointless posts?
I don't believe ESO's pop cap per faction is even above 200 anymore, most estimates put it around 120-150 per faction atm.In the scenario, its 200 people vs 1 boss.
In ESO I am assuming you are talking about PVP lag, in which case its 200 to the power of 2. A lot more maths involved.
You forget to mention that smart MMOs use gameguard type programs and in game GMs to combat that very thing. The reason those asian MMO's can handle so many people on screen is because they put a lot of the load onto the client. Sounds good right? Nope, that is also the reason why asian MMO's are littered with bots and are vulnerable to cheats.

GW2 also suffers when large amounts of players are on screen (world bosses & world vs world). So this is not the only game that suffers from skill lag, rubber banding, lag in general where large amounts of players in one spot is concerned.

Haha, like Archeage did - it never worked - forget about that.

Too put it in a tech sense some of the load comes from both the backend and the frontend. In ESO case most of the load comes from the back so theres more security. BDO however most of the load comes from the front so less security.
I might have it backwards but same difference.

Funny you say that, as alot pf people are comparing BDO to Archeage.
That was supposed to a game that catered to PvPers, too

Yes, and pvp would have been fun in archeage, if the game would not be full of hacks and bots. Archeage is a super cash grab tough, you can do nothing really without to throw money at the game and even then what you can do is very limited. And even worse, it is pay2win.

I have tried to explain that a couple of times here on the forum what is causing the lag and why there is a difference to ESO at launch and now - it is kind of hopeless - either those, who are complaining about lag do not understand it or refuse to understand it. My guess is, they do not want to understand it, to be able to keep complaining. Or they have never experrienced how bad a hacked game can be - how about pvp, where they do not have lag, but the enemy is freezing them in place so that they can do nothing at all and get killed - just because it is so easy to hack a korean game.

Agreed. Had an irl friend praise Archeage as an "MMO game changer" and "proof that Asian MMOs are better than any US/UK MMO".
Now, he just glares at me when I ask why he stopped playing.
Prior to 1.5 ESO could have 200+ battles on screen in PVP without lag. Sound FX would cut out usually but that's about it. Skills would activate right away, no red +999 latency and absolutely no lag what so ever in the PVE areas.
