The bold one is the one I'm most likely to do wrong. I'll craft an entire set of brand new gear for, say, a level 20 character, and then only when I'm done with everything I'll notice that the sash or something is level 22 and can't be used by that character.

It's odd that anyone, ever, would make a non-set item. Even if your build doesn't have room to fit in another bonus, at least you'd have that one in case it ever becomes necessary.

I made a VR 16 legendary Alchemy Master staff the other day when I just needed an off-set item.

I've gone to make a set of 5 hundings and 4 night mother..made 9 night mother in purple in V16 mats. Bad times.

Just happened to me a few days ago lol, I made a new VR 16 light helm from in the wrong set I was making at the time. 140 Ancestor silk .... whoops, best you can do is make it purple and try to sell it for bit of profit or break even is ok too.

And for some reason it seems like any time I'm heavily medicated due to my neck issues or due to a migraine, it always seems like it's a good idea for me to go and craft new sets of gear.

Spoiler: it's not a good idea!

This is the underlying cause of most of the times I've screwed up when crafting...

Let's see, the notable mistakes I have made at Crafting Stations

Set out to make some VR14 gear and find out it's VR9 after I improve it
Set out to make X Level of Gear and find out one or more pieces are some different level, again, after improving it
Buy a Nirnhorned item from a Crafter to research, only ask for it to be a Set Item so I can use it, only to get a regular nirn'd item. Crafter was doing me a favor so I did not complain, the item was sold cheap.
Make an entire set of gear in the wrong Racial Style


And, yes, I have made items thinking they were set pieces and they are not. Now I have learned to look for the set bonuses before I hit Craft

Accidentally upgrading an entire Night's Silence set I had sitting in my bank up to legendary... instead of the Night Mother I'd just made.

Crafting requires more focus than surgery, I'm sure.

Shortly after IC I was deconstructing glyphs on my enchanter. I noticed that I had an essence rune I had not learned. "That's strange," I thought "I've been at enchanting 50 for quite awhile, I thought I knew all the runes!" So I promptly created a level 10 white prismatic weapon glyph

I don't remember ever doing that. I do remember accidentally crafting an item at the wrong level (especially when you get that bug where moving between parts of a set change the item's level instead of the number of materials used), and then upgrading it to blue or purple. That's happened a couple times.

Also when switching from the 5pc set to the 3/4pc set, accidentally crafting the same armor piece twice.

You're definitely not alone, OP...

I typically don't notice that I made a non-Set item only after I improve it to Legendary (Purple), but also when I try to Enchant it and/or equip it. It's not until that point that I'm saying to myself: "Huh... wonder where that Set item I just made went to? Oh, dammit..."

Or with armor; I'll make the Set item, but in the crafting of it, I won't have noticed that the level of the item dropped because I wasn't paying attention. Chest pieces require more materials than say... Gloves, but I won't have adjusted the material amount/level before crafting the Chest. So then I try to enchant/equip the Chest piece, only to find out that I can do neither...

I've wasted so many Grain Solvents and Elegant Linings like this...

Made one each Hundings and Night Mother daggers for a V16. Bumped them up to gold. Check, recheck, check, recheck...and finally pulled the trigger...

Oh wait, those are the V14 test daggers I made that I just turned Legendary.

Nothing drives me crazy like realizing I moved to the next armor piece and craft it, only to realize the game switched the item level. Damnit game why do you toy with us like that! Seriously, who coded it to change level?

I feel your pain - made two gold v-16 non set items and even enchanted with Kutas before realizing. Still don't know what to do with them?!

I've never made the mistake, but I feel the need to self medicate to relieve the stress post crafting.

Heck, even crafting gear for writs stresses me out.

One day I was crafting some trash equipment to see how they looked liked. I crafted something like 7-8 armor pieces before I realize I was using Ancestor Silk.

100 ish trashed in the absolute nothing.

I spent the rest of the day with that particular bitter guilty-idiot feeling in my heart.

I've crafted gear (even when careful) and am like "Finally it's done so excited!" Then I upgrade everything to purple quality and put it in the bank.... switch characters... then realize my character is a V6, not a V7....
First I'm like "Lolz wow that's funny" then I'm like "s*** now I gotta craft all of this stuff again nooooo"

Never messed up V16 gear. It takes me over an hour to make a V16 set. #CarefulAF

When v16 gear first came out I asked a guildie to make me heavy legs and chest of kagrenacs hope. Gave them all the mats plus 10k tip and they made me v16 rubedite chest and legs xD Luckily they were rich and able to afford the replacement mats. #awkward
