Making them locked would be a good start to adress the problem! Random respawn locations and/or random respawn timers would be another good thing!
I'd also adore it if there were "random encounters" associated with opening those roves... say, 75% nothing happens, 20% a NPC fellow thief pops up, yells "That's MINE!" and attacks, 5% a guard who had been staking out the trove steps into view with thir trademark "Stop right there, criminal scum!" and a set of shackles ("flee or pay" screen, and hope you have clemency or all your ill gotten goods may be gone...)
And then... shift the chances for each trove you open within a short period of time? Say, first one is 75/20/5, open another within 15 minutes and the chances get 50/35/15, open a third and you have 30/45/25, fourth 10/55/35, fifth 0/60/40, sixth 0/40/60... et cetera... (take that, claw-cutters!)
Or best - all of the above, and just raise the loot quality?
That's my take on the matter. Less farmable, more difficult to go for... but better rewards as well.
- Leave the drop rates as they were. The current rate is too low and pointless.
- Make clicking them add a box to your inventory which must be opened there, preventing leaving items in Troves.
- Make gear gained from Troves BoP preventing incentive to farm.
These three simple things and they could have kept a cool new feature that makes exploration fun and rewarding to the character doing it, without granting an OP gold return that would lead to botting/farming and without having to nerf that cool new feature into pointlessness days after release.
ZOS, please consider it!
.Of course. I am just thinking in terms of the economy and what is good for everyone though.
Something like a trial would be extremely hard if not impossible to bot. Therefor, getting a fairly valuable BOE reward would be more acceptable, because it would be almost certain you had to at least work for it.
However, because Troves can be easily botted (they still randomly spawn in a set or per-ordained locations), getting extremely valuable gear you could actually sell to others would be a very strong incentive to set up that robot gold factory.
Trying to control the economy of the game will just frustrate you honestly.Let it be.Troves should have stayed as they were because they provided a lot of people gear that they didnt have access to at lower levels. It just looked good, and scaled down to their levels.I took my level 27 there, got some gear, and it didnt have high e nd statss at all.People are already angry a bout BoP,so when they come here soon, some may not agree with you.
That''s true, the gear is scaled to level and not worth a lot at lower levels - and niche oriented to stealth game play. I like it nevertheless - the night mother's embrace set for example - 5 pieces reduce detection range by 2m - that is not bad given that racial passives give at most 3m - so this gear is in this context nearly as good as a racial sneak bonus. But other than that, it is not better than self-crafted gear at that level.
I like that set as well and even got all the weapons.I also got the Darkside and Shadow Dancer sets too from the troves. The stats dont amount to much so there shouldnt be a problem for anyone, but they help my low level character have a nice look.
It is just a bit sad, that we will outgrow it pretty fast and will have to get it again from the troves to adjust to the new level. So basically if we want to keep these sets updated, these troves will not get useless anytime soon for us low level players.
There just arent any around anymore though.I have only gotten two in the last two days. Also, since the trove nerf,I have seen a lot less people in Hew's Bane.Could be just a coincidence though.
Well, I was getting 5 troves this morning wihin about 20 minutes in bleakrock island (newbie zone, EP - on EU server) - but that was early morning in europe (like 4:30 GMT), when pretty much all are in bed on a workday. Respawn rate seems to be good to me, at least when not many are around - at prime time all troves near crowded areas will be looted and not to be seen.
Edit: just try newbie zones, best those starter islands - mostly newbies there, who have no idea about those troves and they do not have the DLC and cannot loot them - so better chances there.
I love Bleakrock Island! I should go over to Khenarthi's Roost,ADs newbie place. Thanks for the tip! It isnt gear I am after,it's those Lenience scripts!!! I'm addicted.
I wish they would sell those in the crown store. It would hurt the game or anything, cos you only get them from the troves.
What are those, I have not found any of those yet? - scripts I mean.

Well, they are Counterfeit Leniency things. When you get a bounty, use one and your cleared,Depending on how much you owe. There are some for 2,000,some are 500,and some are only 250 gold.
They are only in the troves.
