There are so many poor people in Abah's Landing, calling out for gold or a few pennies.I wish we could give them money, but we cant. Why would they make the NPCs cry for help,if we cant help them? Sad,really.

You'd get minor buffs in Skyrim when you gave gold to beggars, I'm surprised giving gold in general isn't a feature.

Perhaps they should get off their lazy butt's and get out of town and grind those flowers. Much profit to be had if you grind flowers lol. I would buy flowers from a NPC if the prices were reasonable.

This is one of the things that has always kind of bugged me about this version of TES. I usually helped out the beggars in other games but we can't here except those select Give to the Poor ones.

I'd be happy to toss one a coin on occasion.

There are beggars all over the game, you even get a quest from one if your in the Daggerfall Covenent.
    '
I always wondered why we could not give to the poor, other than the Achievement based beggars for each zone out in the Overworld.

Perhaps a feature could be added to the game, where if a player ignores a npc asking for gold, they throw a barrage of abuse as you're walking/riding away.

This happened to me last week in real life. Walking to work, got asked for money by an individual sitting on the street. Ignored them. Got abused lol.

In Oblivion, the Beggars were the way to gain favor with the Thieves Guild and allow you access. They also helped with the Quests if asked.

I had thought that there would be some similar method in this game surrounding at least the Achievement Beggars to gain introduction.

Well you can in Daggerfall, and all the beggar does, when you give him gold, is laugh at you being such a fool. In skyrim you got the gift of charity, which gave you better haggling in shops.

Hm, I am just wondering if you ever have given money to a beggar in a poor country - that is the worst you can possibly do, you will be swarmed by children and other beggars and they will take all what they can get from you, while you are just overwhelmed with their action around you - I will never give anything to a beggar but have my gun readied.

Doesn't believe in PvP but keeps a gun readied for a homeless person. The irony.

homeless person - hah - in those countries they are doing this as a business - that is professional thievery. Often done by children even. It was such a pressing issue in south africa and harming tourism, that there is now a special law to prevent that kind of thievery with very high penalties. I see this from a very different perspective - crime is very high in SA and you are better armed if you have any valuables.

Edit and you don't seem to get, that my role play perspective has nothing to do with how I am in real life. Eso is a game, not reality - in reality I have to protect my life and my possessions. With an 8-times higher chance to get r*ped in this country compared to the world-average (which is bad already), I have to carry a gun for my safety.

    Lysette,..stop,sweety.
This isnt a poor country. It's just a game and there's no real need for moral lessons.
    And dont be mad at me.I am not trying to be rude. :}
And,yes,I did that in Athens and was swarmed.I still gave out what I had till I didnt have any anymore.I dont carry much when I travel.Only maybe 5 and change.

I'm not saying don't carry a gun, because all law abiding citizens should... And it is true that South Africa is pretty corrupt and crime ridden so I give my best wishes to you and your safety.

Since this is only a game, why talk about whether I gave money to the poor in poor countries?
Where do you live that you have to carry a gun for safety? Just curious. And why do you look down on the poor so heavily?
I live in one of the most violent and gun happy cities in the US and I only carry at night.Phoenix,AZ is where nearly 3/4ths or more of the populace has a gun.
    (Actually,I have two).

PHX, AZ is a pretty crime burden city/state. I carry everywhere here :)

Lysette lives in South Africa which is worse off than Phoenix.

I still don't give to the homeless directly though. I donate to United Way every paycheck.
