After defeating molag bal he says something about the conflict for supremacy, which iam guessing tht daedric princes are struggling for power. He also says that his grand scheme has only began and that he says to the vestige, "your power will become useful in the coming conflict" Could there be a war between daedric princes? and oblivion factions in the future? this has made me wonder even though something like this isnt in the timeline of the lore.
He hinted at the upcoming DLC, simple as that.
Varen also mentions this as he appears in the end of orsinium's story (if you finished the main story at that point)
The "lore timeline" is derived only from the lore we had in other TES games. Anything that may plausibly have not been written down (or the books it had been written down not survived) for players to read in other TES games can still have happened without damaging canon lore... which is why I presume they choose this time period, records -always- get lost during times of troubles, and thus they can do a lot of things in the interregnum and then say "oh, the lore just got lost in the centuries before the other TES games" and thus add to the lore without creating canonicity dissonance. After defeating molag bal he says something about the conflict for supremacy, which iam guessing tht daedric princes are struggling for power. ...and that's what this was about. Yes, there will be some major conflict between daedric princes in future DLCs. We have old Stonefires comments, and the prophets insights at the end of orsinium... we know beothiah, mephala and nocturne are busy plotting... we know the daedric forces are stirred up... we know there will be... something, something BIG, coming, and it will start with clockwork city.He hinted at the upcoming DLC, simple as that.

I gather you haven't finished the Orsinium questline yet?
Seems to fit in pretty well with that.

Some things in this game are meant to sound "epic sounding" but are quite meaningless on closer inspection.

Well at the end of the Wrothgar DLC main story arc the Prophet talks to you about the 3 DLC of 2016 the Clockwork City and how the 3 bad Daedric princes of the Dunmer houses are planning something. So that could be spoilers to Clockwork city or something all I do know is come Clockwork City we'll be fighting 3 Daedric princes not 1 like Oblivion or ESO main story arc but 3.
Prepare thy buttox.

I hope we are not fighting Sheogorath =( Maybe Boethia, Dagon and Mephala I rather fight them. Lets hope those are the daedra we are fighting against.
