Thieves Troves are a little too "intense"

Yeah I think its ruining it a bit. At the v ery least, allow the glow like crafting nodes. So we can unlock the glow, and then more range as we level our thief guild.

And the glow has served its purpose. Everyone who does not have the DLC is now wondering what they are missing

The glow ruins immersion. What thief would hide stolen goods in a glowing, humming, easy to find box?

I don't play with guides or map add-ons. I enjoy discovering things and finding lorebooks. Now I mistake the glow for these books or a potency rune very often. It is annoying and disappointing to find a trove instead.

As suggested before, it would be great to just make them look unique without the glow and sound, and have an option to unlock these features with a passive skill. They are easy to find anyway, if you know where to look.

I actually like the sound clue - if you see it as some form of magical awareness of the whereabout of such a trove, it is not that immersion breaking. Otherwise I do it like you - discover stuff, not using any add-on, which would reveal things, which I did not find yet - but I like the harvest add-on, which marks locations, where I found something. With 8 characters played in parallel, it helps me to keep track of which character was in a certain area already and which ones weren't yet. I might miss some skyshards and have less skill points by it, but if they would just be marked on my map, I would not even want to go there, that would be just like running an errand instead of adventuring to me.

You gained that skill line due to opening a stolen treasure trove. It said "steal" when you did it.

Wonder what would have happened if he had not ever picket a lock or stolen any Legerdemain items?

Mainly my comment was to the guy who said you have to go the Hew's Bane to get the skill line. You don't, just open a Thieves Trove.

He got the skill line - it is in the skill list under "guilds".

I know, I was just saying I never looked at the skill line on him. I mean, he is maxed out on hirelings, and has no points in anything else so there is no reason to even hit the K key on him.

I might have to bump him to L6 so he can do writs, he is getting bored in the tavern. Imagine that, A Nord is Bored with a Tavern.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

They seem to be even more bored about their spouses - lately one Nord said to me in a tavern "some more of these and she will look pretty" - oh boy, what a race.

Just to be clear, my comment was in reply to this:

Also, I'm curious. If I buy the DLC do I automatically get the Thieves Guild Skill line on all my characters? I would earnestly hate that. I have ONE character that is a thief, a few that are "neutral" and one that is "Lawful Good"... I really don't even want the Thieves Guild skill line on this character.
The concern was automatically getting the skill line on all characters by purchasing the DLC, which doesn't happen - each character must individually perform actions to start the skill line. And yes, when I posted I didn't know that an alternate method was stealing a trove - but again, that is per-character. Presumably the "lawful good" character that doesn't want the thieves guild skill line wouldn't choose the "steal" option on a trove. If he does, I guess he gets what he deserves! ;)
