I would like have both ways via toggle switch. One way, one can see account wide achievements and when on ones the toggle option, it will show only the char that one is currenting playing achievements.
I would like to see the achievement, but account wide does NOT affect the current char in terms of skill lines, titles, etc

The "reasons" I wouldn't want this; it makes no sense for character A to get credit for what character B did and vice versa, and diminishes individuality and replayability. This also goes for learning motifs and the like; if everything became account-wide, our characters would just be little more than separate skins rather than having their own progress and achievements that set them apart. I can definitely see the other side of the argument, but personally I value those distinctions.
Personally I see achievements as "achievements of the player, not of the character", which is why I'd like to see it be account wide instead of character based.
I prefer my characters have their own achievements. I would like to be able to see a cross-character view to see if ANY of my toons has done an achievement.
Who gets the title from the achievement? You, the player, or your character? Whose head is it floating above?c.p.garrett1993_ESO wrote: »I'm going to have to agree of them being account-wide. Achievements have always been to show off your accomplishments, emphasis on you... The player.
Yes, I think they should revisit their Achievement system, it could add alot of fun to do, but now most just skip it. Even they manage to get people to do it once, that should be success already, like 300 hour of content. What Im saying current Achievement system is for Elitist, Leadeboards should be the Elitist thing in the game. Achievement system what most players would love to do and something fun would make more sense to me and of course add extra content to the game.
Or then give better rewards for Achievements, something what Elitist players deserve, Dyes are just an insult. Needless to say something just aint right, actually Ive figured out a perfect reward for Elite players, for those who play Leaderboards and do Achievements, and its Elite Gear Upgrade after Legendary. Players can get them via Achievements or Leaderboards.
How about higher your Achievement Score is, better your chance is to get Elite Upgrades, from purchasable lottery bags. That should be a good kicker to do Achievements. Higher your Achievement Score, less money you have to spend.

that last part is elitist LOL.
and no achievements should be earned for each character. The points you earn aren't worth anything it's just for fun and to see progress you made with your character. i have a goodie-2shoes healer who doesn't commit crimes why should he be getting same killing thieving achievements my evil NB does all day. they are not the same

What about those skyshards discovered? Who gets the skill points from those, you or your character?
What about those crafting styles learned? Who can now craft nord armor, you or your character?
What about those landmarks visited? Who gets them marked on their map, you or your character?
What about those alchemy effects found out? Whi can now mix a healing draught, you or your character?
What about those quests finished? Who gets the acclaim from the NPCs, you or your character?
All achievements...
You are perhaps confusing ESO achievements with an XBox gamerscore...
The only thing that is and should be account wide from the achievements is the dye unlocks.
Everything else is and always should be character-based, to keep track of a -characters- achievements, so the -player- can know what he has done on that character, and which of the things he wants to do he still has to finish...
You don't have to do them all, you know... and you certainly don't have to do them all on one character.

Separating them on each character makes things over-complicated and frustrating, forcing you to complete some of the same tasks that you may not be interested in otherwise. In addition, it doesn't really offer "replayability" at all... Having some mundane task to complete for the fourth time doesn't really excite anyone, but I feel some people feel it's necessary simply because they lack anything else to do.
I don't see why there aren't radiant quests or daily challenges like a lot of other MMOs. I feel like that would add a lot in terms of things to do, and keep those voting no for these reasons happy.
I wouldn't want all achievements to be act wide, just things like fishing and especially the monster trophies.
But I would at least like a toggle option to see the achievements as account wide, so I can scroll through sections and see what I haven't finished yet on any character.

Yes. Please do something with this badly implemented system.
It's kinda silly considering how long it takes to get them all...should be account wide..makes you not want to play other characters a lot in this game..
I'm definitely on the yes side of this one, but also don't thing it's a big deal either way.
The only substantial thing attached to achievements are dyes and those are already account wide. So when you're playing new characters the whole achievement business is just a bunch of pointless and horribly time-consuming checkboxes you tick, tick, tick. I think that's utterly inane and won't do it.
Since there is no actual impact on gameplay the smart thing to do would be let players choose for themselves between character specific or account wide achievements. Those who want to jump all through all those hoops for every single character could still do so.

So much yes,
I currently have a Sorc going through the thieves guild, I would like to create a NB and do it but the idea of doing everything again makes this very unlikely. So instead I play a magic char who would never steal anything because doing everything again doesn't sound like fun.
