Alliance Skill Accessibility in Update 9

Velazanth
Velazanth
Quick question,

Do we know what the threshold for Vigor + Caltrops will be in Update 9? I know that it's supposed to be X% easier to unlock Alliance skills after the update, but does that include the AP we've already earned? Or only the AP required to level up moving forward.

Example: I'm halfway between Legionary 2 and Veteran on an Alt, when I load up on Tuesday will I find that I've unlocked Vigor, or nah?

Thanks.

If you already made the ap for it you should automatically have it but even if that wasn't the case the fact that they lowered the cost and doubled ap would make it so easy to get.

I'm assuming I do... I don't really PVP that frequently. In fact, I've just been farming AP on my Stam DK for a viable tank build, I'm really close to Vigor so I'm assuming I have enough when the update rolls around... I guess we'll find out Tuesday. P.S. You totally killed me in Scourge (I think) when you were trolling in the lumber yard a couple nights ago. Good fun.

I know you want skills that no one else has because you spent a ton of time "earning them". But like don't you think you had them long enough exclusively? Like how long did you want to have them for? Just goes to show people don't want real competition they want exception.

No we want players to have to work for things instead of it being handed to them. That is what you are asking for things to be handed to you because you don't want to have to work for it.While wouldn't a person who worked for something not get rewarded for it?Its no one else's fault you can't earn AP its yours.L2P and you would get Vigor and Proxy in no time.It took me a month after consoles release to get Proxy det.Just play the game and you will get it simple.

Why do people talk about "real competition"? If I worked for something then see it handed to someone else, why am I not allowed to feel jaded by that?

You cry about "real competition" and I am saying, people worked to get those skills in order to become competitive.

The sad thing here is that people believing a gear piece or a skill is going to make them good or more competitive.

All those people who couldn't get vigor before this patch are not all of a sudden going to become more competitive because the skill was handed to them. All they will do is suck more and find something else to complain about. I am taking a break from ESO for a bit to play some other games, but I will stay on the forum just to hear the cries from those playing in the Azura Star campaign. With no CP to blame and no alliance skill line to complain about I wonder that the carebears will turn to next.

If it didn't would you really care so much about everyone getting the skills without 'working for it'.

People having Vigor means their survivability goes up (slightly). Prox Det means their threat level goes up (slightly). That does make for slightly better competition.

But...we all know why this is happening. It's the same reason PVP players are getting PVE gear vendors. It is likely that the people benefiting from this the most you won't see running around Cyrodil anyway. (Especially if you take a break:)

Yup because they handed it to them and made it so they had to do the less amount of work to earn them. Not trying to be rude but if you sucked before you had vigor and proxy your going to still suck after you have it.

No need to be all salty about it. If people suck either way let them have the skill and prove that they still suck afterwards.
If those skills would have stayed unaccessible like that they should have to be nerfed to near uselessness, why? Because in an mmo you will always have new players coming in.

Now don't try to undermine the threat of proxydet, it's not a "slight" threat, it's half a healthbar.

Experienced players not only have the advantage of, well, their experience but skills and passives that make them nigh unstoppable for new players which gives us 2 options: either make the skills more accessible or nerf them so it doesn't make that much of a difference.

And in all honesty, i wouldn't want those skills nerfed so i'd rather stick with option 1.

I know it's fun and cool to 1vX a big group of noobs but i would be embarassed if i artificially tried to keep my competition weaker than myself so i'd have an advantage over them and then feel superior, no offense.

The thing is they were not unaccessible people mainly PVErs complained about not being able to earn ap and getting those aabilities If you tried its not hard to get play the game and ask for help it will take you no time.Nerfing the AP need by about 90% is ridiculous and making the game easier for casual and people who do not want to work for things.

Am sorry their no reason they would need to Nerf the skills if anyone can get the ability and use it that doesn't make it op if everyone can use it.All it takes is time. The time it took before the patch made you have to PVP you had to work to become a better player or you will just keep dying without putting up a fight where the fun in that. Now their no reason to improve yourself as a player their handing it to you.

Am sorry but unless you are in Blackwater blade your not running into complete noobs who do not have vigor and proxy so your not making your competition weaker even without those abilities its no one fault but their because they refuse to work to become better players.Again no skill in the world will allow you to beat a better player. If he is more skilled than you he will beat you every time.Having these skills make no difference but they do take out the learning curve from having them.

People have jobs they cannot play all day long at best 8 to 10 hours per week. So lowering the cost is beneficial for them.

Ps a job is something you do when you reach a certain age so you can afford to have a roof over your head.

I don't get why people get jealous and claim they only have the right to acquire/use these skills.

    This is such a joke.

As if somehow the cost before versus the cost now equates to, they didn't earn it.

It's a joke, it boils down to I feel like I suffered more then you and you should have to suffer as much as those that came before you did. Which is a giant load of BS.

I earned it under the old system on three toons and thank god they changed it.

Whether player X paid Y for his skill while you paid Z affects your gameplay not at all and if it does affect your gameplay it because you choose to let something that does not touch you at all impact your enjoyment of discretionary game time.

By the way I've now seen intimately how a majority of PVP players "earn it" and it's not all that Impressive,

    I'm happy about the change.

As much as I'm looking forward to magica det for my sorc, Vigor is a must for most (if not all) stam builds.

To those complaining because you went through the hassle once (and perhaps you feel everyone else should too)...
Look at it this way: "You won't have to go through the painful grind anymore with your new characters."

And let's not forget, if you play the game cleanly (you don't cheat your AP somehow), it will still take some time to unlock all of those skill. I doubt most will get them in a week. Some of you are talking like they are giving those skills...
If so, yeah, ok, they are giving vigor just like they are giving meteor (if you are patient enough to collect 205 books...) and they are giving Dawnbreaker (if you are willing to kill zombies for 10 straight hours), etc.

EDIT: Most of all, unlocking a skill shouldn't be proof of how good you are. How you use a skill is.

I know it's fun and cool to 1vX a big group of noobs but i would be embarassed if i artificially tried to keep my competition weaker than myself so i'd have an advantage over them and then feel superior, no offense.
^This is what every PvP complaint about proxy sounds like....to me

    AND

spamming mutagen on zergs for a month straight =/= skill, time =/= skill, repairing doors =/= skill, which is all that was required before to unlock proxy. gg

It stupid they should have kept it as it is, PVP skills are very powerful they should only be accessible to players who put a lot of time into the game now we gunna see huge zergs putting 20 inevitable detonations on 1 person

I thought they didn't stack and you could only have 1 detonation on you? (Same for Curse) ?

Not sure about that one, well let's put it a different way, zerg vs zerg they all put it on eachother everyone dies xD
