    This is a lie

Am I the only one who never got 1 gold from enemies? I got access to the beta but I only played with the character creator to really enjoy the game on release day (early access, actually).

Is he reviewing THE BETA OF THE GAME a full THREE WEEKS after it was released?

You just can't review a >1 month old pre-release build of a game that had four (1, 2, 3, 4) updates between the actual release and YOUR REVIEW.

Angry Joe is dishonest and an insult to gamers (but this is for other videos).

Bonus bull poop argument: I had the 3 original expensive horses on my main character before any of them were maxed. I must be a super hero.

It was not a lie. He showed it happen. I had it happen and ummmm he can do that because the beta was pointless. We warned about all the bugs and they did not get fixed. It was the same game.

    Neeeeeeext

Did it happen to you in the beta or in the released game?

There is a huge difference there. It's the difference between honesty and dishonesty.

It did happen to me in beta and after release. In fact it was a well known issue.

I enjoy his reviews and I do not always agree with him. I did like Alien Colonial Marines (co-op was fun with 3 friends) but I understand his disappointment. But mostly he has it by the right end and he is a gamer by himself. I did watch the review of TESO from his beta experience but I still bought the game because I liked the beta.

But his points where valid. And after release of the game his points where still valid. And when he should do, or any other reviewer, a new review a lot of his points will still be valid and he can probable add more points to it.

but overall a review is nothing more then someone's opinion. You can agree or disagree. I did use to buy games before a review. But I made some pre-orders which where crapgames. So nowadays I wait for a review.. not one, but multiple. I watch youtube "lets plays" etc before I buy it. Except Battlefront which I pre-ordered right away.. He, it's DICE and Starwars.. what can go wrong. And yet again Joe's review was true about the game. IT's CRAP. (but it looks awesome)

I wish these toobers would update their stuff, and of course look at the dates also helps, never cared for angry joe, he is just to angry and I did agree with some things he said, I don't care for his delivery. None of these streamers or reviewers opinions are any more valid than mine or yours.

I you would have watched other reviews from him, like for Skyrim for example, you would know, that he can as well be very positive about a game. I tend to watch his reviews first, because in most of the cases his view on games is similar to mine. It is just unfair to say "he is just too angry", you simply don't know his reviews well enough to make such a statement and it is wrong on top of it.

Shoudln't people be more pissed at the youtubers that leave OLD reviews up after a game has been patched to fix it, or totally change entire gameplay aspect?

There is a way to take down your own videos, right?
(I don't really post to youtube...I did one video once just to try it out...and show a friend how bad ESO Voicechat was as far as "idiots being idiots".)

Why would he possibly want to do that?.- This video makes him money like all the other videos he makes. He would be silly to remove one of those, which makes him really big coin.

No, Oblivion added to Morrowind which also added to Daggerfall. Skyrim took Elder Scrolls in a new direction. In the 3 previous games you had to think really carefully about choices you make as they could ultimately ruin the character. Morrowind was a minefield, kill the wrong people and it's game over. Althoug my biggest gripe about Skyrim was that there was no F+@$&*!# DRAGONS in it.

And comparing an MMO to Skyrim is silly. You're not going to get the same detail in the environment or characters because there are so many objects to render on the screen at the same time. Francis hit the head there when he stated that it was the worst Elder Scrolls game, it just shows that they were using past games as the mile marker.

However his points about the grouping side of this were and still are spot on. This is the most unsocial MMO ever. Grouping is a nightmare, no wonder not many people group going through the levels. By the time they get to Cyrodiil and IC they are so used to being on there own they hardly group. Zone chat is just full of massive recruitment advertisement and wts. And the grouping tool is terrible. Combat is fast pace, so why they never got around to creating a group voice chat without having to resort to 3rd party apps is beyond me. I should be able to post an advertisement to do a trail where random people will see it and request to join me without me having to type in zone that I'm running something and when they join, a group voice chat is automatically set up for that group only.

I just watched this video because of your thread, so glad I will never watch another video of this amoeba. Perhaps after the 1000 years later when Skyrim occurs he will have evolved and gotten some brain cells.

    This game is fantastic!

I think he works for Blizzard. As a WoW player, wow is a joke and I hated it and had to learn to play it ( by learn to play I don't mean the actual game, I mean learn to play it as in teach myself to get use to the horrible cartoon graphics even with WoD "reskin and makeover patch").

When I logged in ESO and created my character I felt at home, I smiled, I felt as if THIS is an Elder Scrolls game!

I was excited and glad that it did actually capture the feel of the ES franchise.

The only setback I had was the dissapointment that bows did not work the same way as before ( with skill and a learning curve to aim / snipe & eventually zoom ) but I realised it was for mmo balancing.

The second thing was that sorcerers could not wield fire, water, ice along with lightning or even conjure up any summoned creature I want ( Rufio I miss you ).

In conclusion that is a joke of a Youtuber and the level of his negativity makes me feel annoyed. I pity that a person is filled with so much hatred, resentment and is so lonely to bash a game when all you have done is played Auridon in Aldmeri Dominion with your "girlfriend" and all you two did was joke about how bad it was compared to Skyrim. I bet they play Call of Duty, the Sims, GTA, FIFA on their free time or they just played WoW before this and now everything HAS to be a wow clone or it's not good. Hence they are not actual MMO players.

    0/10 for that video.

I agree OP, this guy is proof that Youtube should review subscribers as clearly most of his subscribers are fake accounts he probably made.

Or you know he is like the tons of other reviewers who played the game at launch saw it wasn't broken in many ways and decided it wasn't for him. Idk where this revisionist history is coming from like the game we are playing today is the same game that came out two years ago. Pretty much every veteran player I have talked to before buying this game (dudes who have played since beta) said the game was crap when it first released.

I generally respect Angry Joes reviews, but I was sad to see he didn't go back and review it again down the track. I don't think it's fair to base your opinion on a new MMO. They are usually all half-baked in the beginning, and rely on player testing/feedback before they really start to get better.
For gods sake, he was playing a stam sorc with mages wrath and crystal frags. He obviously didn't even play enough to learn the mechanics. Just rode around on a horse yelling at people.

Isnt that the sort of sandbox stuff that makes elder scroll games fun? so what if his build was borked, thats another step away from elder scrolls, you have to really optimize your build to have fun...

I am enjoying the game again but I have disowned it as an elder scrolls game.

It's still an Elder Scrolls game no matter what you single player people say. The lore and story is still here. What works in the SP games has to be redone in an MMO variant.

The problem is the devs aren't very good at MMO developing. It would really help if they played their own game live. Then play some TESIII

Angry Joe, pretty much the Jersey Shore of game reviewers. He plays a characature of the angry inch that seems to appeal to a demographic in the gaming space. It's funny because most of his review of pve became absolete like one month later. The other comments were just opinions that many did not nor currently share. Hiwever, he had a great review for pvp which many would agree with, but that 8s all absolete to, but not because it got better like pve, but because it 8s way worse.

Usually if I'm interested in an MMO's I'll try to find some recent reviews and watch some current gameplay.

The standard IGN reviews or youtuber reviews of a launch MMO 2 weeks after it came out are worthless 6 months down the line.

The age where it was acceptable... No, that's the nature of Role Play Games, every action you take has an effect on what happens to you in the future. In Oblivion is started disappearing, there was a couple of occasions that a skill master would get killed if you didn't get to them in time yet quest critical NPCs were safe, but come Skyrim, that was gone. You couldn't perform an action that had serious consequences. To some that was a step back.

So in what way did Skyrim advance the series? Story line, it was on par with all the others, hell it even started the same way (you're a prisoner). UI, well, like all the others, it didn't matter what was released, it got modded and changed within a few weeks. Size, all the games were massive. Graphics, all the games were on par for the technology at the time. Let's face it, Bethesda know how to make RPGs.

I'd argue that Skyrim, while a great game, isn't necessarily a great RPG. Bethesda is in an interesting position right now of trying to appeal to the core audience of RPG fans, and making the games accessible and streamlined, which I'd say puts them in a kinda "one step forward two steps back" scenario.

But we can banter about what makes a great RPG all day.

I'd still say the Morrowind had by far the superior single player RPG story. Oblivion (aside from Shivering Isles) kinda made you the sidekick in the epic story, which can be somewhat unappealing, and Skyrim, while good, suffers from pacing issues among other things.
Morrowind thrusts you in the the hero position, but also is a much more gradual, unwinding, story that remains open to interpretation.

I like this game, and yeah Angry Joe's review hurts a bit. And it hurts because most of the points he mentioned were true.

The sad part is that some of his points are still valid today:
    - The quests are still un-rewarding. It is even worse than he had said - the whole Lvl1 - VR15 rewards become obsolete as soon as you reach VR16
    - The grinding is still a thing - and there are in-store shortcuts to it.
    - The game went free to play in order to keep up the players. Yes with the discounts that are out there it is a free to play game technically.
    - He talked good things about pvp - please don't ask him for a re-review he will ruin that too now.
    - And he is right about the combat system - it is the most powerful feature that this game has (to me at least).

And he said he is sorry.
He just did his job the way he does it.

Joe tends to run all hot or all cold, because that's what sells his image. Either he's screaming a 30 minute rant on how unredeemably awful you are or he's delivering a 30-minute sermon on how wonderful thou art, oh flawless holy-of-holies!
