PvP: do you intentionally kill AFK players?

I kill them with no mercy
    It wasn't always like this.

My mercy used to be exerted upon any AFK player, until I realized that 60% were bait. Walking up to them and bowing or bashing to signal a dual, just led to me getting slaughtered afterward by their buddies. 30% would actually dual me fairly. 10% were truly AFK...

Now I rarely think "Be nice". Only options have become "Avoid" or "Free AP".

Due to the insane lag, people going through inventory and other things impossible to know who is AFK - and I have never seen anyone not kill an enemy player they encounter, can beat and can catch.

    No, I ignore them
If I meet a player that is standing in the middle of nowhere, I'm going to automatically attack because I assume that he/she isn't alone and I'm about to get ganked.

If I meet a player standing AFK in a quest area, I generally tend to leave them alone if they leave me alone.

Any player I've encountered (killed or been killed by) is fair game.

If I'm stealthing around from a good distance, I'll generally just move around them and leave them alone. Isn't worth breaking stealth most of the time.

Yeah cos they might be looking at their screen while afk and see you walking away with your back to them, or something. Tbh there might be a chance that if I found someone stealthed in a rock, not in a combat area, I might leave them, if I wasn't too startled by finding them.

    Never, that's just silly.
There's a spot where you can get stuck by the ladder to temple district near yellow base in IC, been stuck there twice and got killed once by some pve heroes. I was looking for a fight and saw this sorc dude dtuck there, my instincts told me to just attack and just when I was about to kill him I felt that what I was doing was wrong, poor guy unable to do anything, so I stopped and /tell him if he wants me to ignore him or kill him so he can respawn in base, he told me to kill him I did and he had 500 stones on him so I did the right thing and gave them back. Killing an afk player would be as cruel as me killing tjat poor stuck guy without saying a word. After all we are all human beings behind the screen.

None of this honouring low levels, AFK etc. Welcome to the war, it's not made of rose petals.

Than 30 seconds later they're back from afk and shooting at you with a meatbag catapult or oiling like mad. But you didn't kill the guy because fighting with honour

If related to the war, you should always try to thin the herd, even if the enemy is away making coffee.

If not related to the war, like some PvE'er afk'ing in Bruma, than it's different. I usually ignore lowbie PvE'ers.

Sometimes I will ignore them and kill the rest first, depends on my mood. When I do kill them, it's not my fault they went AFK in PvP.
On the contrary, I sometimes pretend being AFK and watch how enemies react, first to attack usually is some sniper who will die within the next 10 seconds.

Well I "used" to be more care bear friendly, would /sitchair next to people afk /wave but after 20-30 times of having them come back on and proceed to WB spam me to death before I can even react has me put off. Now I use them as DPS testers. see how High I can get my crits to go. Tried being nice way to many times.

Now if a person is dueling, messages me or waves at me. sure I'll give them a pass... or they're just sitting around BSing. yeah not going to bother em. but im totally through being the initiator of such contact. the magick there is lost haha

I'm not so untalented that I need to attack AFK players. To be honest the only situation I attack people unprovoked is if it's at a keep or resource. In the open world, in the sewers, or in a questing zone; I won't attack unless attacked first. I'm not a rabid dog.

The only time I'd kill them is when taking a keep or resource and they are in the way.

They'd be killed by the NPCs anyway when the keep flips, and most of the time they just get hit with AoE as the flags are being taken anyway.

In the open world I'll leave them alone, in a quest area, I will try to indicate non-hostility.

The player is still there watching their lifeless body until they come alive again,so they do see you t-bag them.

I consider it a reminder to pick your afk spots wisely.

My personal favorite time to do it is when I see a big raid in IC. There is always going to be some afker and you can kill them and take all their stones right under the raids noses.

On the one hand, I'd think it would be super boring to just stabbity stab some player that isn't even there.

On the other hand, I know how annoying AFK players in PvP can be.

Bottom line: Stabbity stab them if you wish. I don't care. I won't be there. >:)

I try not to if I see they're afk in time. Accidentally discovered an enemy player in stealth next to a resource the other day, attacked him but he didn't respond so I jumped around for a bit but he didn't seem to come back so I went on my way and sent him a whisper that it was a bad afk spot lol. Got a thank you message a few minutes later, apparently the guy was away talking to his little son, sounds like a good enough excuse for afk in PvP land to me lol :) Don't always have to be an a**hole even if someone was one to you.

I will generally attack an enemy player if it's not in a quest zone/obvious PvE-er but I'll probably leave you alone if you don't respond. I feel bad killing PvE-ers and afk-ers. But if I leave you alone and you then try to jump me from the back and WB me to death...geez, man. I have no words for you - none that wouldn't get censored, anyway.
I'm also a hopeless romantic looking for fair fights so I will probably stop attacking if someone jumps in to "help" in a fairly even fight even if it's not an organized duel; I also probably won't add to 5 people hammering on 1 unless there's an actual purpose to it like keep/scroll/resource or it's one of the people that I know can 1v6 just as well as 1v5 :P

Unfortunately there's little honor in this war though. I can somewhat understand why, I mean it's a game and it's fair enough that some people have fun by going all out against "enemies" but I still find it kinda sad. My personal best experiences in Cyro are related to non-hostile(well not 100% hostile at least) interactions with other alliances, be it PvE-ing together, organized dueling, random yet awesome 1v1s(sometimes if you run in a decent opponent in a small group they will just step back and watch the fight which I appreciate beyond words) or whatever else along those lines.
