[Dyes] Top dye overwriting pants dye

As you can see, the only thing I have dyed turquoise in this picture is the first slot of the top. However the pants clearly change colour too, to a slightly darker version of the top colour. This happens with all colours as I've tested, and also happens if I remove dyes completely from the pants or try different ones on the pants. Does this happen to other pieces or is it just mercenary? Would be kinda nice if I could dye them black and the top something else but at the moment it's not possible.

And yes I'm aware that's a disgusting colour, but it demonstrates what I'm talking about best. I'd personally go for a hot pink.

if you remove the pants, you'll find that your character still appears to be wearing pants. those turquoise pants are a part of the top, strangely enough, and dye accordingly.

lol this reminds me of an old bug, where people could run around looking pantless while wearing pants, if they put on the Worm Cult set xD

This is the case with the mercenary robes, yes. It is the same with Worm's Raiment chest piece, the pants are part of it.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Thanks for the info! I guess I can't complain too much since robes cover the pants usually anyway.

Not all armors styles dye the pants though ..but it is annoying to craft new chestpiece, to be able to dye it properly. I hope they fix this soon >.<

OP did you write an ingame ticket about this issue?

The merc style is a knee length robe open at the front. This is how it is supposed to look. Personally, I love it.

[edit] have to admit I've never noticed so much colour blending from it before.

I'm talking about the pants behind the robe, not the robe itself. I love it too.

Yeah, sorry. They looked brown on on my phone until I zoomed all the way in. I would bug that. I'll need to play around with it on my character. I try not to look at his legs though because he's still wearing the awful looking ancient elf shoes from the healers set.

My only male character is wearing this armor, and I was wondering about the pants as well. First I thought there are no dye slots allocated for the pants, then I noticed that the robe covers it. It still looks like you'd see the pants, but that's not the ones you're wearing, just part of the robe somehow. Really odd, if you ask me.

Edit: what I was also wondering about was these bright parts, why can't we dye them darker? The bright part of the flap and above the chest, I mean. Even when dyed black, it's still kinda white with a silver touch.

Sorry, a teeny bit off topic but whilst we are on dyes, exactly how much darker is the legate black compared to the cold harbour black?? Not much of a pvp'er and don't want to waste time in pvp if the black is exactly the same on most armour pieces..
