Can anything be done about this? Ive completed 4 of the Cheydinhal quests and any time ive gone back since there is always a gank group hiding in front of the quest givers, i can usually i spot them using inner light but its ridiculous how often this happens, even if DC own the map

Well as you see some people in this game are little *** and like to gank low level players doing dailies in a big group, they are usually people that are too scared to do real pvp

Try going to a map that isn't a buff campaign for pve players and you will probs find that people aren't campaign the pve spots because they are actually pvping.
PvE spots are easy pickings on buff campaigns.

A buff campaign is a campaign that is owned or mostly owned by one faction. Right now NA Axe campaign is a EP red buff campaign because they own the emperor and 90- 95% of the map. Usually a buff campaign is owned by the one faction for weeks at a time, if not longer.

I can't believe you actual started this thread OP. You are (or were) in a PVP server. The very nature of this server is to kill other players. There are additional things to do on these servers but that is the main purpose.

I choose to level my toons in Cryo. I am constantly in the quest locations and encounter these gankers all the time. It is part of the game. There is an inherit risk to be in Cryodill. There are not safe location except you base. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

And a side note, every time your leveling/questing is disrupted is a win for the opposing faction because you are that much weaker. Take these fights as oppurnities to learn how to fight back.

I had an officer from my trade guild request some help because he had one last dolmen to finish in Cyrodiil and it happened to be the Bruma one. Well there was a DC there that was hellbent on not letting him do that so I went up there to help and killed the ganker twice during the course of the dolmen (since he respawned at DClaw and ran back).

Basically I'm saying bring a friend. Particularly one that is a regular PVPer.

There are what, 16 or 17 zones to enjoy gank-free PvE content?

Anything is fair game in Cyrodiil.

Let me clarify, i have no problem with people ganking in Cyrodil in general, i get that its a warzone, but at the same time why did they put quests in cyrodiil if this is all it amounts to, to those telling me to go to PVE, ive finished pretty much everything PVE has to offer, i do take part in defending attacking keeps too, but this whole business of camping in the towns is a cowards way of playing the game

Yes. You can kill them! Well, in theory.

When I was new to Cyrodiil, the pop cap was much higher and opponents were everywhere on the map. It made completing the PVE quests very challenging. I loved it for that reason.

Ganking is part of ESO PVP. It's something you must adapt to.

Post it in zone chat how many and where exactly. There are those that love to gank the gankers. Meanwhile, it gives a heads up to other players who'd like to avoid being ganked.

You are very right. I must agree. Always bring a friend. But word of warning to all the blues and yellows in Scourge. PS4 EU. You will need atleast a group of 15-18 if you go to bruma. A huge group of reds always camp at bruma to gank unsuspecting people. It a group of large force of reds. Also reds usually always have all keeps to.

I am a regular PvP'er and I do those quests often because I am far behind the champ point curve.

If I see enemy players - I kill you. I am sometimes with 3-4 friends doing the quests as well.

It's a PvP zone - if you don't want to engage in PvP - don't enter Cyrodil.

Sorry - it's not called Cryodil.

If I see energy players. I will ignore and leave you alone. Usually in questing areas. Bruma for example. I usually solo to. If I been attacked by enemy player. I won't fight back. I unable to. If it very high level and my internet issues to.

All well and good people saying to fight back but when your outnumbered and none of the campaigns are DC dominated, it leaves very few options

I get what people are saying that its PVP, but surely these cheap kills have to be mitigated, a way to fix it would be to close gates to the city for alliances that dont own the nearest keep

There is already a closed Access to IC for not owning your factions keeps campaign!
It is called player vs player for killing them, not to cuddle them to death!
Sorry but that is just how it is. If you want to quest in Cyrodiil, bring a friend!

Buff campaigns technically don't exist anymore, but I'll explain what they used to be. In times of old, your entire faction could get reasonably strong buffs if they owned all the keeps and scrolls in Cyrodiil. There also used to be a lot of campaigns and not a great many people playing in them, so once a particular campaign was all owned by one faction, it would tend to stay that way and all the PvE guilds would home on one of the campaigns their faction controlled in order to get these buffs. Likewise, people looking to do the PvE content in Cyro would go to these campaigns, because the odds were low that someone would come out and gank you. It would still happen, just less often. They then shrank the number of campaigns and made it so that the buffs from owning keeps and scrolls don't apply outside of Cyrodiil, so "buff campaigns" essentially stopped existing. People might still call a campaign that one faction dominates a "buff campaign", but it's not really accurate anymore.

If I were on PS4, I'd help you out. I like helping questers and love ruining gank groups...Oh the hilarious whispers.

Also, some people is this thread should be ashamed.

Adzer2 was asking an honest question with honest concerns and even stated that he understood the nature of PVP, showing more understanding than some of you are even capable of expressing. Based on his previous posts, he seems to be a PVE player that is new to pvp and had a genuine interest instead of complaining.

ZoS is half the reason this game gets a bad reputation, the other half are abrasive players that can't seem to step outside of their own egos and paradigms to help a new or inexperienced player.

And you know the worst part? When they're done with this game, they'll just move on and suck the life out of another one.

Shame most people's default response is "l2p" or "PvP or GTFO". Wasn't original or funny.

Glad there's some who offer practical advice and options. OP if you post your platform, region and faction I'm sure there's some good people out there who will offer to support you or will take the opportunity to kill some gankers on your behalf.

Buff campaign is an old term.

Not very long ago the PVP campaign bonuses would apply to players outside PVP area as well. So all those scroll bonuses - emperor-ship bonus helped to make you a stronger PVE player.

Back then each faction used to dominate one campaign and everyone from that faction would set their home campaign to be that dominated one in order to buff themselves up...and here is where the term comes form.

Now the PVP buff does not go outside Cyrodiil anymore so it is no longer proper to call it buff campaign.
