People saying surge heals on crit against shields aren't wrong BUT, it only heals you for like 200hp or some other inconsequential number. Just thought I'd clear that up.

It might need some tuning, I don't play a Sorcerer so I cannot comment on its strength. The argument wasn't whether it was a good heal though, just that it was there. So form a mechanics point of view, other skills should be able to provide their self-healing aswell, whether through ON HIT or DAMAGE effects.
Drain - didn't restore mana through shield, now can restore mana through shields. Siphon - didn't heal and return mana through shield upon hit, now can do both of it. Surge - didn't heal before, now heal through shields and numbers are right (i got 748 heal from 1247 attack = 60% as tooltip saying) Swallow Soul - still can't heal through shield, heal and hot can crit. Jabs - still can't heal thorugh shields, heal can't crit, and now as dot can't proc Siphon. Glory - still can't heal through shields.
From this you can see that they fixing things that not proccing on shields but for now we, templars, screwed most, and even got bug/nerf.
I lost any hope for future templar fixes/buffs.. I will try magicka DK in TG, but if this *** zerging stays like it is now.. I will simply move to diffrent game..
Is this on the developers' radars? This is a problem for PvE as well; since several fights (Transmuted Hive Lord, Valkyn Scoria, Nerien Eth, several types of sweeper in Sewers) use damage shields when it comes time to add a 'DPS race" component to the fight. In most of these situations, damage is going out to all group members until the shield is popped. Most classes can self heal while still maintaining damage on the shield, while others have to stop DPS to heal themselves. Yes, of course a healer can keep you up, but the healer is usually expected to keep up DPS during these moments as well.
