For those of you that think me and my guild has some magical lag switch that makes 8-12 people someone how break the server, I would like you to take a look around yourself and at your map before you rez or begin your customary tbag, or perhaps just at your group UI. I'm tired of the accusations, not because I actually care what some of you think of me or my guild, but because this unfounded assumption fundamentally impacts the quality of pvp in this game and that causes issues for everyone. Using my magical lag switch as the source of all of your problems is an easy answer that keeps you from answering difficult questions with rather simple answers that could improve almost everyone's pvp experience.
I'm not saying my guild doesn't contribute to lag, everyone contributes to lag and my guild probably does more on a person to person basis because we have way more buffs\debuffs\AoE going out in a coordinated fashion than most other PS4 guilds, but that being about as generous as I can truthfully be when I finish a kill quest of any given class almost every wipe. How someone can believe my guild is solely to blame for lag when they are in guild chat with 60 of their closet friends is beyond me. The more people the more lag. It doesn't matter if you're afking or rping. when you have an absurd amount of people in the same place--or a decent amount in multiple places aka Azura--lag ALWAYS occurs.
Yes sometimes having more numbers and stacking with others is necessary and inevitable (crowning\dethrone keeps), but do you really need group 2's support along with a bunch of pugs to take bleaks\sej\nikel from a bunch of other pugs? Do you really need that 3rd healer in group three for the scroll farm to actually work? Do you think the pugs really need any help when they're already +50 deep pushing a given lane or, more importantly, are you aware of the effect on the server when you add another 24-48 to the equation?
Sometimes having an absurd amount of people at a location happens by accident. You believe +2 full groups are sitting on a location so you take your full group alongside 15-24 others to take it, only to discover they completely abandoned it to port to the other side of the map and save another emp keep. I think most would agree this is understandable to an extent, though I find outnumbered fights much more rewarding\engaging. However this is very different from running a guild that fields two or more groups and knowingly stacks with other guilds\groups on objectives where a 24 man that isn't terribad should would win 99% of the time.
Doing so unnecessarily strains the server and forces the effected alliance to respond in a similar fashion if they want to successfully defend\push objectives, only to send performance further into a tailspin. You may not be talking with them, but its not hard to see them riding towards ash\chal gate or Alessia bridge and figure out where they're going.
Because of these trends combined with the lag the follows, my guild can't justify remaining on Azura's any longer. Fighting at 1:3 or 1:4 odds just isn't viable when you loose half of your group every engagement to crashes or long load screens only to have any advantage you have in coordination or movement completely negated by lag. The AP was nice fighting certain zergbad guilds and nothing was more fun than completely ruining a +50 man scroll farm with 7 people, but other servers simply offer something better, outnumbered and LAG FREE pvp. So now there is no excuse why your guild that loves to set you up with 40-60 of your closest friends lags the next time you storm an inner breach with that other guild running +20 you think is bad trailing in behind you, and I hope you will begin to wonder if maybe YOU might be part of the problem as well and possibly take actions to lessen your impact on the server and (hopefully) positively effect everyone's pvp experience. If not, my guild might just go to the main pvp camp--whatever it is--to reap dividends next patch if the lag is even partially addressed. Though we may still show up at sejanus from time to time this patch...
