Why Are They Releasing So Many Harem Outfits

They should be releasing a male outfit of the same type. I'd like my male characters to have something skimpy to wear. They seem to have lot of skimpy outfits for women. ZOS, we need to see more hairy chests!

I personally love these outfits - I don't love the bugged part of them that excessively bloats the chest area though - please, please look at fixing that. When I was cooking at the weekend the area under my arms kept bulging like I had something unnatural living under my fur.

They are detailed and the jewellery looks great and this is exactly the sort of costume I have wanted for ages - I will make more use of some of them though when I can dye them - do not like purple! Also the wrist bangles look great with my long, polished claws.

I saw some data mined stuff that showed that probably there are some male Redguard outfits coming in the future so you might just get your wish :)

These outfits do really go with the atmosphere of Abah's Landing so I'd encourage everyone to shed their inhibitions and put on something like this when in town. What's the old saying? When in Hew's Bane wear skimpy clothes and steal things.

Not saying that the female outfits aren't nice. I'm just saying that I have a male Redguard and I'd love to have him show his chest all the time in native clothes and not in Argonian armor.

It is actually possible for a bloke to go round shirtless anyway - just use some of the NPC clothing you can 'borrow' from unguarded containers and put on a nice pair of shabby NPC trousers and not much else.

See this film I made some time ago where at about 1 minute in 'Timmy Trowel' (played by my alt Hodorf) has trouser trouble.

I would love to see this type of armor in game for my guys. I only have two, I'd love for them to be skimped out even if it isn't "Elder Scrollish". We almost have it with Argonian armor but it isn't quite there.

Guild Wars 2 has some really great stuff. I have my guys there decked in gladiator and barbarian armor.

^ This this THIS, oh yes, THIS! ^

I'm starting to fear that ZoS are going down the same route Tera went, with all the female bias. I have male and female characters and I want them treated equally - skin on show for both, not just the girls.

Equally, ZoS, EQUALLY if you please.

No. Just no. That's not only awful but is not culturally appropriate for any of the races. New armor and clothing, whether skimpy or modest, needs to fit the game world and the ES cultures it represents. Please do NOT encourage this sort of thing.

Hm, you find this sexy?- To me that is not really attractive, all what comes to mind with it is, that this guy has put in more time into crafting his body shape than in acquiring knowledge. And I prefer men with a brain over those with a perfect body.

I buy these outfits but I only put them on my male toons and /danceredguard all the time ROFL

In all seriousness, though, I agree. I don't think it's necessarily that ZOS is being intentionally sexist, but I would like to see some more variety in terms of costumes. I really liked the noble's suit and male wedding outfits, for example.

I imagine their choice is made based upon what they think will sell much better? Which is why they've been releasing "skimpy" costumes.

I am all for skimpy outfits, male or female, the more the better.

I am not opposed to anyone running around as skimpy or naked as they want..AS LONG (as another poster said above)

It fits the game world...I dont want a bunch of crap that has nothing to do with ES .

    Question...

Cant males wear the female outfits? Is that not skimpy enough?

Or do you mean you want specially crafted male skimpy outfits?

If that is the case, the reason is very, very, very simple:

    $$$ Money $$

They will spend time on making outfits that make the most MONEY, thats it. That falls into 2 MAIN things:

    1- Badass male outfits

    2- Sexy female outfits....

It sucks, but it is true.

Well, a sophisticated man will most likely not wear something like this. I like those upcoming noble suits for men and the middle-class outfits a lot better. All i am saying is that if I would have to choose, I would go for the sophisticated guy, who does not have to show off his body to be attractive. Maybe that is female, but I rather prefer to guess what he is like under his clothes than to actually see it right away.

I think they care, it is just a more complicated issue, because they will have to change gameplay to avoid zerg building, because this is the main issue here. It is not really technical, but a game design issue.

Who says those "female" clothes are for female characters? I have
honestly never seen any female character wearing any of those outfits,
only male characters. Actually, I started to consider it perfectly normal for
a male character to wear female clothes and very weird when my little sis
tries them out on her female characters or when I see them on crown store
    worn by female characters.

The short answer is that there was quite a bit of demand on the forums for skimpier clothing for females. This has been a huge request since the game launched. I agree, the males need sexy clothes too.

I wear the desert outfits sometimes in an appropriate environment where they make sense. But then again, I have a dark skinned Redguard and the sun will not burn her skin, so I can wear that in direct sunlight. My fair skinned characters do not wear it, because it would be silly, their skin would burn in minutes in a hot desert sun. But that is just me, role playing it.

not sure what being sophisticated has to do with what you said earlier but whatever
i personally prefer the more fantasy-ish clothing rather than the 'noble' middle age royal dresses/suits - skimpy or not. i want it to look fantastical or even bizzare rather than like something out of a historical documentary. i fell in love with morrowind for this reason; everything looked alien and the concept art for the different clothing/armour looked like a fusion between fantasy and sci-fi. i doubt it'll come back but i'd love to see the same kinds of design again. it was unique and intriguing.

it could as well look nice on a female.

As far as the brocade robe goes, I agree - it is perfect for my dark skinned Reguard, even her hairband matches the color of the robe.

Edit. What is under his clothes is not any interesting to me, if he is not pleasing my intellectual needs. I prefer intelligence and knowledge, social competence and i want him to be a gentleman. If that all is fulfilled, then I might be interested what is under his clothes. But I do not want his body straight into my face by no reason.
