To those this change is "taking away the feeling of accomplishment": don't buy them, continue farming them. Don't you dare bringing up the argument "but we have to if we want to stay competitive". You made people like me do exactly that for nigh on three years.
Um, ESO hasn't even been out for 2 full years yet, and pledges and monster helms/shoulders didn't exist until several updates after launch, so I don't know where you're getting this "nigh on three years" thing from.

Yeah "nigh on three years" was a bit exaggerated, even though I did take part in the open PC beta already.

Nonetheless, even before monster sets, you'd have sets in dungeons and trials that were best in slot. So yeah, a pure pvp player was forced from almost start to do what he didn't want.

Cheap Alliance Skills, cheap Monster Sets. PVE players got what they wanted, and PVP players got what they wanted. Can't we all just be happy that everybody can get what they want now?

I just wish they would tie what you can buy to achievements like you can't purchase valkyn without beating cCOA if they do that the prices would be fine because you can't skip the dungeon.
Now here's a great idea. If you got the vet completion, you unlock the gear. Gives players the incentive to experience the lore and immerse themselves in the dungeon experience.

As much as I would love to see the vendor tied to an achievement in order to at least demonstrate ou have the skill to earn the helm (thus the vendor is mere convenience to bypass RNG, vice a mechanism to bypass skill), sad truth is that players will merely downsclae dungeons to get the vet achievement (if they do not posses the skill to beat it on their current level) or simply have friends beat it for them...as is currently the case with vMSA.

Better to just leave it as it is

It both takes away the feeling of achievement when you do get that helm in the trait/weight you were looking for, and makes it so it's much easier and quicker to just grind AP/gold and buy the perfect piece outright then to do the content and get the drop.

When my desired helm finally dropped, it sure didn't feel like achievement. Finishing the vet dungeon the first time was an achievement. The 20th (or so) when RNG finally favored me had nothing to do with my ability to do the content, that part was just luck.

The reason they are so cheap is because what's available (head or shoulders) and trait are all RNG random.

It's every bit as RNG as getting them in a dungeon and you could literally want MONTHS before the set and trait you want is available, if you miss it one day it could be months before it's available again.

Seeing how RNG based it is, it's fine...you will most Likely wait months to get your ideal traits anyway

Monster set pieces for 500K AP - 1M AP seems justified, NOT 200K!

Another good system might go like this: A completely random piece (you chose helm or shoulder) for 250K, a selected armor type for 500K, and a perfect piece for 1M AP.
