With the new patch, which class do you recommend?

So undoubtingly, NB is definitely the class for me. Problem is, I've only ever built Stamina and never really dipped into building a Magicka one. I'm not really sure how different it is, but I have seen the use of staves, which confuses me a bit. Is DW not ideal for that certain build? I already have bows crossed off. Plus, if I roll as a Breton, should I look for that Light Armor focus? Or stay classic with an all med set. A lot of thinking over to do. I'll be picking Breton none the less, so if all else fails, I could always pick Sorc.

Pretty much this. The other classes can do about anything; from tanking, to healing, to the staple DPSing.

Templar is as good as a NPC right now. Heck, they feel like hirelings, if this game had such a feature.

Tried several fights on PTS with a Mag Sorc......win rate 40%
Tried several fights with a stam NB .... win rate 0%

I watched some Mag Sorcs pros testing it on PTS ..... win rate 99%

So looks like Mag Sorc is the class to go for new players and for pro players too.

Plus it is the only truly mobile class now in PVP.....it is a huge advantage in PVP !

I'll re-spec my Stam Sorc Orc for magica build....despite the racial disadvantages he will be a much better wizard than warrior.

Everything else is meh or at the bottom with crappy templar "apparently".

The safe bet is Sorcs because they never get nerfed too hard.

main reasons for my opinion w.r.t. each ">" to above:

1) dots are nice but even with them no real means to chase through cloak, vbane/dark flare gets dodged, healing debuff through soul harvest, nb could even runs a s+b build to reflect dot projectiles
2) purifying ritual removing dots and (not even sure if this still works vs meele spells such as whip) eclipse reflecting single target spells
3) wings are still a pain, with the new self heal, sorcs will have an incredibly hard time to bring mag dk's down. dots can actually wear down the sorcs shield fairly quickly, fossilze can DESTROY the sorcs stam pool
4) i don't see combos piercing sorc's sheild now. I expect far more hardy than the shield-pierce CPs to be allocated. aleady not the worst matchup for sorcs (imhpo quite a good one) - magelight on one bar to finish the job.

ofc there are many builds and many ways a fight could go: a stamblade can reflect to annoy sorcs, templars can outspam stambaldes sweeps vs surprise attack, so this is merely my personla opinion what's gonna be the dominat factors.

in the end someone will should a coldharbor stone treb, deal 18k damage to everyone which kills 1-2 and then everybody blows up because the sieger is wearing the new pvp set

no templar doesn't fit that row and the buff to meteor not able to be reflected will make a magicka sorc beat a DK

meteor without any setup is almost wasted. block the impact, dodge once, pay very little stamina and get hit by about 2k damage. it's a super easy ultimate to block and sorcs slotting rune cage is problematic if they still want something spammable + something that goes through reflect and all the typical sorc spells like shields, teleport, etc. I don't say it won't be a thing, I just think magicka DKs can make more use of fossilize and NBs of fear than sorcs of rune cage.

in the end, i'll have to try things. I played quite a few 1v1's against good players on my templar and, during the last week, also on my sorc. I#ve based what I wrote on that experience + pathc notes rather than a PTS where I have more ping that c-points

CP changes and a ton of magicka morph buffs in the patch notes. Magicka DK got the best update imo. Magicka Templar is just "ok" now, Stamplar still sucks. Pretty much all stam classes got dumped on really. Stam DK still the best of those. Chose a DK imo, or a Sorc. Sorcs almost never get hit with nerfs.

Play the class you like now. Don't change classes due to a patch...change how you play the class.

It's like Diablo 2 when new ladders release back in the day

You mean the actual morphs of the skills themselves were tweaked? Part of the overall skill balance ZOS has eluded to in the past?

I've been playing a Magicka NB in PVP the past couple months and I absolutely love it. It is currently tied with Magicka Templar for my favorite class to play. I run DW/Resto, with DW being my main offensive bar and Resto being my defensive bar. Using DW for one of your bars is good for the extra spell damage, but you're probably going to want to use either a Resto or Destro staff on your back bar, if for nothing else but the ability to recover Magicka on heavy attacks (though I recommend Resto so you can use Healing Ward). And if you're running a Magicka build, you definitely want to go with light armor. I personally run 5 light/2 heavy for PVP, but you could probably just go with 7 light as well.

My mag dk...is a nord...so should I pass? I mean...nord is maybe the worst race in eso. Problem is that is full torug and julianos v16 gold. Should I just tank?I would like to dps but being a nord...

Magicka Nightblade or Magicka Sorc, abandon ship the rest of the other classes (except for Magicka DK, you may struggle a bit more).

My Vamp Imp mag DK in heavy armour is pretty good at tanking with moderate damage if you know your rotations

Yeah, I pretty-much only farm mats/chests with my Templar now.

Unless you have fun when youre effective. Which, shockingly many people do.

Personally, I must both like the playstyle and be effective to enjoy a game. Which kinda sucks now as I like the stamina over magicka gameplay.
