About Igneous Weapons :)

First i want to admit that i love all the changes in Dragonknights! (because i main them). In my opinion, you are focusing the game to the right way. Totally you gives us a real asnwer against zergs groups! Im really happy with all these changes :)

From the beginning Molten armaments was our natural finisher, thing that i liked because it gaves us the opportunity of having a finisher with dual wield and bows.

Now Igneous weapons gives us Major brutality for almost 40 seconds (I love it), but without the fully heavy attacks buff :( . By the other hand, Molten Armaments buff our Fully heavy attacks but it gives us Major Sorcery.

So if im a MagickaDK my main option should be Molten armaments(MagickaVersion) and everythings is good. But, if im a StaminaDK i should choose Igneous Weapons (StaminaVersion) because it gives me MajorBrut, but i will loose my natural DK Finisher.

Thats all. Maybe im asking too much but it sounds reasonable in my mind.

Good luck!!
Play for fun!

It's the better choice because they want to nerf ganking, and camouflaged hunter igneous weapon stealth dual wield heavy attack is far too powerful.
And because staff heavy attack are weaker than dual wield/two handed heavy attack. But they forgot bow HA.

Or because all skill (except surge, as far as I know) is magicka-focused, and then their morph can be stamina based.
Or just because ZOS logic, who know.

They should at least put 20% heavy attack damage on igneous weapons, so there is something for the stam DK. It being only a group buff makes it the less appealing of the two morphs, because 2H is still the preferred melee weapon. Other builds will already have access to major brutality and sorcery, because of this I doubt anyone will be looking for this buff from the DK further making this change not very good. I do think the possibility of DW and bow for the stam DK will be nice but with that build lacking execute or the extra heavy attack damage makes it a lot less appealing.

It was OP before, simple as that. The intended effect was to buff magicka DKs without buffing Stam DKs (and further to mitigate this gank stack method). Stam DKs are still in a good spot; magicka DKs are made better.

Unless you're going Bow and Shield on your stam DK, you already have two great options for Major Brutality, especially Momentum and its morphs from 2-hand. These offer a consummately superior option, making the Major Sorcery and Major Brutality buffs from Igneous Weapons moot. Thus, probably the only good choice for this morph, regardless of if you're a stam or magicka DK, is Molten Armaments for the 40% bonus damage on heavy attacks. I'd like to note that it is no longer a finisher, however, as it lacks its old execute property. It is simply a flat 40% damage boost regardless of the opponent's health.

I don't think 20% is that much and wouldn't be any more OP than what other classes have access too. It would however help with more build options for stam DK, because as was already said by other they will just take the molten armaments morph and use that for the 40% damage boost and use a 2H.

wait, i thought i got the buff from it when i cast it even if im solo.
your saying thats not true and i only get the buff if im in a group?
i dont see it saying that in the tool tip. ill re-read it and see cause i swore i still got it if i was solo and cast it.

no, you get it when you are not in a group. I am just saying it being just a group buff alone makes it not as good as it could be for the caster. I think it should just have a little extra or the caster and not the only thing special about it that it gives the rest of the group the buff as well. I say this because virtually all builds have access to the major brutality and sorcery already. I think to keep it consistent with similar major brutality or sorc buffs for it to give something extra to the caster to make it more appealing than molten armaments.

Losing the only finisher I had with a sword and shield. In doing this they are forcing stamina dks into using two handers which will lead to more wrecking blows.

Nope the changes to molten armaments are way too horrible, after players who played both magicka and stamina versions of the DK class asked for a execute like every other class had (something instant that was made to actually "Execute" a low HP player/enemy instead of winding up a HA to do the job) we just get it down right stolen from us at-least for now.

As a stamina DK I'm tired of relying on WB for my DPS, heck I'd love to use flame lash for an execute but ofc that'll never see the light of day no matter how many DK tears are shed. Flames of oblivion is also a horrible change that needs to go back to what it was around 1.5-1.6.

Lol, I'm one shotting people with a heavy attack on PTS. They didn't fix anything.

They should make it where molten weapons provides 40% bonus to heavy attacks. Igneus weapons would have that in addition to major sorcery. Molten armaments would have major brutality instead along with the heavy attack bonus. This would be fair to both mag and stam dk builds; currently igneus weapons would be near useless for stam dk's because there is the far superior rally, which will continue to keep dks too reliant on two handed. As for buffing your group with both major brutality and sorcery, any competant player would have access to their own and its a bad idea to rely on someone elses major brutality/sorcery buff because they could get killed in an encounter and you would be unable to recieve thoses buffs. And major brutality specifically for molten armaments; as having a fiery weapon makes more sense for someone using it to strike someone with than say a mag dk using sword and shield where they only do light attacks to keep ult regen going, and use mostly magic for damage.

I like Molten Armaments where it is because I can hybridize my Dragonknight. I focus in heavy attacks so Molten Armaments increases my greatsword and sword damage while the Major Sorcery from the same buff allows me to use Burning Embers as a DoT and heal that's not crappy. I may experiment with other Magicka skills but for now I am excited to see a more versatile Dragonknight.

Honestly with Camouflage Hunter being magic damage it helps you out more then the HA bonus if anything gank is better for Dragon Knight's then Nightblades.

So stamina dks should be tied to two handed to get a reliable major brutality buff? You could use entropy to get major sorcery which can be slotted regardless of the weapon you are using. Besides, hybrid builds are simply not optimal and theres a reason why at late game the vast majority of players go either stamina or magicka, especially as you accumulate more champion points due to how the stat stacking works and the different physical/magical damage types. The separate major sorcery and brutality buffs would be more fair to more players, in particular stam dks which far outnumber hybrid dks for good reason.

Edit: I should also add that since you use a greatsword, you are most likely using rally for the major brutality buff. You could then also use igneus weapons for major sorcery. Molten weapons and morphs would all have 40% bonus to heavy attacks.

2 hander major brutality lasts for 30 seconds, but the ignious buff only lasts 8.5 seconds, i think thats just wrongthey should both last 2 minutes each.
having to cast the stupid molten armaments every 8 seconds during a fight is making me angry.

In the PTS it lasts 30 seconds plus 9.6 with earthen heart passives.

You misunderstand. I am at endgame and am using a greatsword and shield combination and on Live I use Igneous Weapons to buff my heavy attacks, which in combination with CP are at +92% damage. They already hit for 8k. Molten Armaments on PTS offers the same buff and Major Sorcery in addition, allowing me the usage of Magicka skills in addition to my Stamina skills. I also use Forward Momentum over Rally, much more usage out of it given I rely on recovery and passive healing to stay up. Successfully, I might add. Using Entropy offers me nothing outside of Major Sorcery, a buff that alone brings nothing to my build. But since Molten Armaments has been buffed to include heavy attack damage and Major Sorcery, I have capitalized on that to create a hybrid build.

My duels on PTS have all ended in either a win or a tie. No losses yet.
