Critical ratings are capped, i don't remember the exact number but you'll never get your 90%.HighT3chR3dn3ck wrote: »I have two Kajiit stamina nightblades with critical ratings of 90% (which it definitely doesn't hit that often and I suspect the criticals are broken in this game, but not the point of THIS thread.)
I have 4 main characters and one of them (my dedicated PvP char) is a Stamblade.HighT3chR3dn3ck wrote: »So my question is this, should I continue on as a stamina nightblade or convert to something else?

You'd be better off spending some of that in other categories, like weapon damage.
Oi, looks like i was wrong about the cap.Gilliamtherogue wrote: »No they are not. There is no cap to critical rating other than 100%, as you cannot crit more than 100% of the time.

However, there still is the case of diminishing returns because to get a crit % that high, you have to give up damage.
A quick math exercise in my head would put the optimal crit % right around 50%, after that you start losing DPS ...
I don't think that is correct ...Gilliamtherogue wrote: »Again incorrect. You only begin losing noticeable efficiency of crit chance above 85%, as you are already critting most of the time and wouldn't notice much of a difference until you went to 100%, but would be sacrificing too much to go above that. In terms of operational DPS (what you give up by making a choice) 83.9% is the highest you can get without giving up too much, and is obtained by the build write up I made. For a stamina nightblade, that is the epitome of min/maxed values in the current patch. However it will change greatly with Thieves Guild due to duration of fights and resource management changes (nerf to siphoning)

I know i have seen the numbers before somewhere, found this thread:

Back to addressing the ops actual question; I think stamblades will be fine. I have a stamblade myself and I'd just have to make a few changes and give up some damage for sustainability now and have u looked at some of the new stam sets? My nb is having wet dreams about the one that leaves behind a magical trap every time he dodge rolls. I'm gona rolly prolly around and cause some serious slposionsssssss

I have played this class since I started, and I really have enjoyed it... for the most part. Furthermore, I'm not sure what the general consensus of the ESO community is, but people I play with, and others I have talked to about it, when they have tried stamina nightblades they find them considerably harder to use than whatever class is their default, and I even got one magicka nightblade to agree with me. (I'm 100% against magicka nightblades, stamplars, stamsorcs as they logically don't seem to make much sense to me, but still not the point of this thread).
Everything I have read about the updates indicates (for one reason or another) that the stamina nightblade is going to be outclassed in every way by all other builds.
So my question is this, should I continue on as a stamina nightblade or convert to something else? Also, please explain your answer, and if you believe that stamina nightblades are still going to be viable please explain as well.
