Ive been levelling up my S&B DK and I've been reading posts saying that LA -> Skill -> Bash combo doesn't work so well on consoles compared to PC? Is this build worth putting time into or will the stam management be too difficult to get any real success from? Thoughts?

Skill->bash works fine... its one all 3 are used that I have found not very fluid on the console.. but it supposed to work.

What you are reading about is the stunted Stamina Recovery while blocking. PC players can rebind Interrupt to its own key, circumventing the block state and resultant stopped regen. Using the default Block+Attack binding works all the same for damage/combos but it burns through Stamina faster by briefly stopping regen each time you block to bash.

Do you think the build will be less effective on console because of this?

Less sustainable. If you kill quickly, sustain has little import.

The build is still viable but it really does burn through recovery, i run around with 2.5k regen because of this and still run out fairly quickly, yet when i was a wb build i had around 1.6k and never ran out.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

Ya see this is what i was afraid of! Ill try to get high enough regen for sustain but i have fears of being forced to run wb

I had no problem running LA-Surprise attack-bash on a s/b stamblade for a while, you can't macro it to a mouse key like a lot of pc players do (don't deny it, idc) so you HAVE to master animation canceling, it DEFINITELY works, its just much harder to master. When scrolling damage numbers come out you'll be able to confirm its hitting much easier, currently it is more of a "feel" thing

Edit: In the interest of fairness, I was using an xbox elite controller with shorter trigger pulls, maybe that's why it worked though

2nd Edit: as far as sustainability, I was running 2k stam regen but also had Siphoning attacks so its hard to say if it'll work from a conceptual stand-point on stam DK

It works, but your timing has to be really good on the controller. Its not easy, I'd suggest practicing animation cancelling in PvE first
