ZOS Faction Transfer?

I heard you are NOT going to be adding this in the near future, is this true?
It would be nice to get some confirmation on this as I was planning on moving a few characters. If not, I need to start working on a new one. So let me know please.

Don't hold your breath for a direct reply from ZOS. It was spoken about in one of the ESO Live's, cannot remember which one. And they said no.

I am responding anyways here is the reason why I am opposed to this, EVERY quest is hardcoded with info on your starting faction and there are 3 variants of every factions quests gold, silver, and normal. in order to do a faction change they have to A write a bunch of code to each quest to accommodate this switch. B like before but find a way to transfer or reset quest progress without breaking gold, silver or the game in general. C put resets in PvP especially if you home/guest in the same campaign since you can't have 2 characters in 2 different factions(this one may not be a problem). D fix leaderboards. the list goes on

The point is with this much of an overhaul to accommodate such a feature the risk of them severely breaking the game is MASSIVE and the return is not worth the risk.

As another said, it was mentioned during an ESO Live episode that this would not be happening (though nothing to say it would never happen). I'd recommend going back and reviewing those episodes.

Thanks, but I am familiar with this episode. Though a lot of people keep saying ZOS said "no" and that's a stark contradiction from what was said in this video hence my post.

Oh well. I guess as usual people are ignorant on the matter and running around parroting other ignorant people.

How do you find these things. Would take me forever to track that down xD

I can see why the OP sounds a little frustrated. Getting "maybes" and other vague answers then nothing for ages isn't very nice, especially considering a few people have asked about faction changes.
Personally I don't want them or care, but there are people who do. A simple yes or no would suffice, and a very rough ETA.

Ignorance is bliss. Though ZOS didn't specifically say no, "maybe" isn't exactly confirming anything except that it's been talked about it, but that's it.

People just reroll Daggerfall anyway. Theres going to come a time when 100% of eso players are with Daggerfall. The fairweather is strong with that alliance.
