V16 items after VRanks removed

What will happen to V16 items when VRanks are removed and you do not have 501 Cpoints? Should everyone say their trophys now even if they are V16 without 501 Cpoints?

I would think that anything over the cap would scale to the new cap. In addition varying amounts of champion points will be needed to use more advanced or newer equipment.

I don't think vr 16 would be equivalent to champion point (cp) 501cause not everyone has 501 cp especially on consoles. It would be a lower cp equivalent if your are vr 16.

Max lvl armor (501 CP) has already been datamined.

So, your armor value I guess would scale to your CP value. The best armor being 501 CP.

(and you're gonna probably be asked now, to link an armor piece, if it goes that way, for certain groups - don't be surprised when it happens. :) )

Can't remember where it was written. But vr16 armor would require 160cp. If you do not have 160 you will be given the difference to reach the armor you currently have.

    From this thread...
A little context here before this gets too out of hand…
    1. We’re still working on the system – nothing is finalized. (which is why we’re not really talking much about it yet)
    2. The intention is that once you hit 50, champion points take over. Veteran Ranks are completely removed.
    3. When Veteran Ranks are removed, we will convert any Veteran Ranks on your highest character into CP.
    4. To get a rough idea of balance - think of 10CP = 1 VR. (so 160 CP will roughly = VR16)

    Additional Details:
    • We’re planning on giving 2.5 CP for every VR level you’ve earned on your highest level character. (40 for a VR16 character)
    • When the conversion happens, any player with CP less than their old veteran rank * 10 will instead be given enough CP such that their total is VR * 10. For example: A player is VR14 with 75 CP, they will be given 65 CP (140-75) instead of 40, so that they can still equip any gear they may have.
    • We will make sure the 16 attribute picks you got from VR1 to VR16 will carry over. (current plan is an achievement that goes up in 10 CP increments until 160)

Keep in mind that none of the stuff above is 100% locked in. We're still implementing the feature - things are subject to change. It's important that everyone understands they are not suddenly going to have to have 501 CP in order to equip the top level gear. We will introduce new gear, with higher CP requirements sometime in the future, but we won't be making huge jumps. (i.e. - we won't go from 160 to 400 suddenly)

Once we finalize the system and lock in more of the details, we will discuss things in more detail and answer questions.

There's no difference in a VR or CP requirement for gear. They are both a flat XP requirement, so I don't even know why they would remove VRs if that is their plan.

Because all toons share CP so they could all use max level gear.

No more painful grinding to 16 on multiple characters

I disagree that there isn't a difference and also that its exp related only.

-Getting gear is one adventure withing itself
-once obtained, the restriction to use the item per character makes sense.

What doesn't make sense is to remove the VR system, which is specific to a character, and then align a specific character gear restriction to an account progression system. The account base system, will cause detriment to the entire game if anything other than passives are tied to it.

Look at the feedback around PvP and around the CP Catch up system...then look at the feedback around the VR system.

Removing a major concern and a exp grind that involves a lot of irrelevant zones that should be optional vs forced is the right decision. What you do next could be just as bad or worse if you attempt to move one problem to another system hoping those problems are resolved due to being tied to another existing system.

As one character progresses beyond level 50, each alternate character should have an opportunity to make their experience easier by choosing to apply champion point passives but the choices don't make the character stronger in all cases so the passives are just passives and shouldn't be required to be used.

Now, ZOS can and I think should offer hard content that requires high gear that becomes easier with certain champion point choices but attempting to tie progression to CP is the wrong way to go.

Keep in mind what ppl have always voiced.
    -Difficult slider
    -Balanced PvP
-ability to skip not have to repeat silver and gold zones
-meaning end game content at 50 (not VR X which should be taken also as CP x)
    -PC (PTS)/Xbox One: NewBlacksmurf
    ~<{[50]}>~ looks better than *501

I agree that it's nice that CP is account-wide, but that still doesn't change the fact that end-game gear progression is based around an XP grind.

So my v16 gear will no longer be max level gear once the armor cap is raised? THAT PISSES ME OFF. I like the peace of mind of knowing I can take two years off from this game and still come back and be wearing max level gear. Im not interested in an eternal grind ZoS

It will be top tier called most likely CP160 geat. But they will most likely intriduce new gear tiers in the future.

Exactly. I dont want to have to deconstruct my legendary 160cp Julianos Set to make a 200cp Julianos set, and so on and so forth, every few months. Can you imagine having to farm the same monster helmet in the weight/trait you want every few months?!

Don't worry. I'm sure they'll find some super convenient way to upgrade your gear via the crown shop instead of grinding in game.

Can low levels use CP-gears after they have unlocked the CP-system? That sounds kind of cool if its so. Also in that case, they should just remove Gear Upgrade System.

The level of ignorance involved in begging for VR removal was hilarious. The CP grind for players will seem vastly more overwhelming then the grind to v16. Some players will be fine as they will be at cap but new players will find a serious grind in place just to be able to get max gear now.

Fair point, but just remember what they take with one hand they give back to us in an other. You'll just have to grind out new gear for all your characters at the same time. It's been noted that the current VR 16 gear is likely to be 160 CP, I dread to think how much crafting material is going to be required for 501 CP....

Use them for now, we'll get fair warning when the VR system is going to be removed so you can easily farm for the trophies again, and we know they have stated VR ranks will not be going up.

They should also get rid of all mats they made up to bluff their way through the ranks, mats that never appeared in any ES game.

Why do anything in this game? Chances are that 3 to 6 months down the track it will all get changed, your achievements so far in gear collecting will be turned to crap, and you have to do it all over again. And then again, and again, etc.

I think that Orsinium is the last bit of cash ZoS will be ever getting out of me (and I won't the only one heading out the door if this is implemented).
Oh so you play on a console? Well this is a console game after-all I suppose.

Exactly, even having to acquire new crafted gear every few months is ridiculous, thought they said they won't do that. ZoS has said they won't require us to completely re-gear every DLC. Reconstructing the same sets and farming for the same masks over and over again absolutely sucks.

If they pump out new sets with creative effects for the set then yes it will be worth it to set that goal, like Diablo 3
. Diablo three has some of the best itemization I have seen in any video game.

I think you need to always have a goal to set towards improving your gear or itemization, it's what makes you want to keep progressing. However, it shouldn't be every 3-4 months.

I still haven't crafted my first full set of legendary gear yet, the mat cost is simply insane. Since IC was released I have a legendary v16 chest, legs, helm, and 2 staves that's it. Everythng else still has to be crafted to v16. Not to mention I have run countless vet dungeons and haven't found engine guardian, kena, or scoria. Not one!

First I'd like to point out that they already said that Undaunted sets will be vendored, one for one or two days each week

Secondly using CP as a basis for gear is the opposite of balancing new and existing players done with the catchup on CP the gulf then between a starting out player and a xxx CP player would be wider than ever as it is present on two fronts as apposed to one.

With the VR system a new char could get top gear currently v16 relatively quickly takes I believe around 2 months with the current structure and exp per lvl to get to V16 playing a reasonable amount. I know someone who did it in 10 days recently (but I imagine he did little else during those days) then being V16 meant that you were simply short on the Champion system buffs but could equip top teir gear.
Now if you tie top teir gear into the champion point system then your behind on two fronts both champion point buffs and gear as I imagine that it takes considerably longer to get to 160 champion points one one char than V16 (Have no idea what the 1st champion point costs under the new system)

I actually don't mind the current setup and before you say it I have 3 v16s and 5 at lower v ranks Have the other 5 max lvl overnight would be great.

As for gear fist it was V10 Then V12 then V14 now V16 any of us that have played from the start have come to accept that any tempers and materials and time spent farming sets and materials will be for nought sooner or later.
