How can a game with unplayable laggy/buggy PvP element and broken class passives/ CP passives and troll bugs since beta can be MMO of the year ?

This is my question so ZoS staff do not close it until you answered my question.

Because despite all that, it's still a great mmo and in my opinion the best atm. All mmo's have growing pains and issues through out their whole life. One patch creates another glitch. I played wow from the beginning and it seemed every patch created a new problem.

The other games are probably paying ppl to play them. That's how bad they must be if they lose to ESO.

Not everyone believes ESO is in shambles you know. The better question is, how can someone so pessimistic towards ESO stick around for this long yet not recognize it's good qualities? Or do you really care so much about what you hate that you refuse to even acknowledge its pros?

what they said, I mean sure all MMO's have there issues, as a gamer or a player of the game we should inform them of the issues but by ragging on them or complaining & blaming them wont help no one. If someone really didn't like the game they wouldn't complain they would just stop playing. I find ppl complaining and yet they still play the game because inside they know its got more pro's then Con's.

Because done most improvement to there game over this year compare to all other mmo out there and how about you read what the people that vote them to it say and think about ESO

As we stated at the start of this award season, 2015 was all about the existing games getting better, delivering content, and expanding both in terms of content and player-base. In our eyes, no other game has done more to improve its lot and deliver on the wants of its players than Elder Scrolls Online. Not only did Zenimax manage to launch ESO on XB1 and PS4 this year, but they also converted their game to the more viable Buy to Play model. Since then, two massive DLC packs have been released, bringing the Imperial City to life in ESO and just recently the lost Orc city of Orsinium. Since its launch, ESO has done nothing but improve, and we wish all MMORPGs would follow such an aggressive and confident march towards delivering the best possible experience to their players. I've played my share of MMORPGs: Ultima Online, Lineage, WoW, Runes of Magic and Tera. And I can honestly say that for all its shortcomings, ESO still beats those hands down.

I do wish some decisions hadn't been made, and hope ZOS gets on track in the times to come. I whine on the forums from time to time about stuff that bugs me, but that's simply because I care.

Congrats to ZOS and the ESO community for this award.

I wonder how much people playing this game overall in all 3 platforms, 200-300k max imo, thats not MMO.

mmo 2k15 voted and presented by whom. Take a look, its a joke and its definately not the official best mmo 2k15.
Player numbers are shrinking and all the other mmos run better and have way more players. Eso is at the bottom.

As a long time MMO player, since the late 90's, this is easily the best MMO at launch. My best memories are still from the original Everquest, but ESO is so much more well done. WoW, was incredibly bugged and they screwed the classes up nearly every content release. This game has better graphics, better lore, better quests, and more interesting combat than any of them.

ESO simply lacks in raid content and PvP could be done better than it is. This game is fantastic yet has some of it's own issues. The pace that they have fixed the issues is much better than other MMO's.

So far ZoS has listened to the community and look like they are continuing down that path.

It was so hard getting gear in Everquest, that it was a real accomplishment getting the top gear. I had gear that no one else had, I was the top bard on the server in Everquest and it was awesome.

But its 2015 its not 1999 why you people always look into past and mention WoW release ? If ESO would be released when WoW was released believe me it would be disaster. And no ESO could be way better i mean it was in production for 7 years and yes ESO is listening to community /nice joke.

Story-5.5/10
Combat-9/10.

So, its Only the combat that this mmo gets a reward but the rest is very poor.
So may it got the mmo of yr because the devs must have paid the critics to praise their game( the game as so much potential, only the devs are just restarted )

Because the aspects that generally get pointed out don't actually happen to EVERYONE that plays. Lag in Cyrodiil is a thing yes, but..... that's when everyone is at the same place, and that has happened in every single MMO that does high intensity high player content. That being said there are a ton of people who don't even play PvP, there's still a role playing community, as well as PvE content.

In the end, that best MMO is placed based on over all statistics, and I'll be quite honest, this is the best MMO(bugs and all) I've seen for a long while.

ESO provides very nice graphic interface, very nice abilities for classes, and flexibility to switch between roles, while having them clearly defined. And the scenery in ESO is sometimes breathtaking! All of that in an MMO.

What made ESO the best MMO in my opinion is the lack of competition! There is no other MMOs that reaches its level. But if you don’t care about the single fact that making ESO special as a game, which is being MMO, then ESO loses big time, and that’s why the community loosing members.

All the pros I mentioned at the beginning start to fade away when you encounter the bugs, the lag and the imbalance. And if you don’t care about an MMO game, then you have a lots of games that can provide more in multiplayer fashion, while being entertaining.

What makes lots of us stick around and ask this question is the friends we created along the path in the game, which makes it hard to leave. This leads me to the ultimate question, will ZOS fix the game first or, the will the community die before! Does Bethesda and ZOS care enough to keep the game running as a strong TES game, or will it just whether and vanish...

Wow was a wreck when it first released, so I'm not sure what you are talking about. The playability got better over time, like the lifecycle you are seeing with ESO. Wow looks terrible IMO, like a cartoon, it's not for me. It's combat was boring and nothing unique when it released. Everquest has more interesting combat mechanics than Wow. Wow got so popular because it was a very easy game with quick progression, but overall it was very weak.

You have no clue what it would be if it was released during the time period either. Yes, ESO can probably always be better and I have seen ZoS make a lot of improvements over time.

Where are all of these stats? So it was a joke that it got an award, but you have all of the real inside knowledge and it's really at the bottom.

most of the sites of wich those rewards comme from actaully get payed to say those things.

i still like the game but do take those award giving sites with a huge pinch of salt

Best MMO of 2015 presented by an actual legitimate site. Which also happens to be the biggest MMO site today.

As for the numbers. If Google Trends is any indication, then ESO is more popular than most MMOs, actually WoW seems to be the only one which is actually still more popular than ESO. However ESO is still growing, while WoW is doing worse every year.

We live in an age of hate. Nowadays the thing to do is to keep watching or playing something while raging all the while about how bad and horrible something is. A rational, logical person would walk away and stop playong/watching. But now everyone feels the need to hate on everything and hate on anyone who happens to actually LIKE what they hate.

ESO is far from perfect, and I'll admit I've gotten to the point where the game frustrated me to the point of quitting for a while. I complained, sure, but so does everyone else. But there's a difference between loving the game but hating the way the company that makes it handles it. This game has a lot going for it, but it can be a very frustrating to play. It's like having a family member who's an addict: you love them and want to help them succeed, but every time you have some hope and faith, they fall off the wagon again. That's about how I feel about ESO.

Best FANTASY MMO, yes - when it comes to best MMO overall, I would vote for EVE online.

To me even with the issues it is still better than most of the mmo's on the market today imho, it is not a wow cookie cutter mmo, it has three faction warfare, as a fan and sometimes critical of things, I still enjoy the game and my friends still play, now that all the platforms are out and there should be no more waiting, like we did before, I am looking forward to what 2016 will bring us,

I am looking forward to the 64 bit client and the balance passes coming up and the new siege weapon damage, along with the Dark Brother Hood and the Thieves guild and the associated land masses that will be coming with them, should be a fun year, crossing fingers they get the lag reduced in pvp, and hope to hear more about housing that could be a an element if done right will cause many player players to spend many hours creating a house.

Compared to most mmo's this game is still new and growing, compteting against games that are loaded with content from being live for 5 to 10 years it's a tough cookie.

No online game is perfect and I hope they can keep a good pace on releasing content and fixing bugs as long as they have enough people supporting the game ESO should be in for some good times.

Yeah, i agree with the arguments of the "best MMO reward" totally - Zenimax online studios have done a lot to turn this game around and create an enjoyable game. Now, where they know how to please their fan base (they didn't at start), they will do even better next year. I am confident now, that ESO is worth playing and there is a lot more content to come. As a role player I hope for experiencing all of Tamriel some day, explore and see all the landscapes, which were so far just in my imagination.

I am not certain about if ESO will be able to keep the sole PvP community happy though. Most comments I read from this side on the forum is not giving me much hope - instead to do, what they are supposed to do (namely create their own content in Cyrrodil and write history there) I think a lot play ESO with a consumer mentality instead. They wait for content for them to be created, instead to fill the open world pvp in Cyrrodil with life and create some meaning and history there.

That is what alliance war is for, but it requires PvPer, who create their own content and fill these areas with life - I have my doubts that this will happen, when I listen to these consumer mentality driven PvPers on the forum. I do not see that they are able to create any meaningful content in Cyrrodil on their own, nor write history there - new pvp areas will not help, it requires a different kind of PvP mentality, which is not burning through and consuming content, but is actually creating history and filling an open world PvP area like Cyrrodil with active content and bring it to life. This is a huge area to use, but it requires conquerors, who are able to fill it with action and bring the vision ZOS had with this zone to life. It is up to players to do that.
