Extra Long Load Screens

I understand that, but these screens were supposed to be fixed. Why am I doing fixes for things that were suppose to be fixed.

PC/NA/Asuras Star. Endless load screens when using wayshrines or respawning at keeps or warcamps. I didn't time them but one of them was long enough to give myself a manicure. That one could have gone on even longer if I hadn't decided to ALT-F4 and reload.

We put in a fix that addressed one of the main issues that was causing long loading screens, but it wasn't meant to fix every issue. We understand there are still some instances of long loading screens (such as what you guys are experiencing here) that aren't tied to the fix we already put in, and are investigating the root causes.

First, what do your system specs look like? Specifically RAM, processor, and graphics card. Second, when did you start noticing that the loading screens were getting long again (or were they always like this)?

I'm on a Core i7 5930K, 32GB of RAM, GTX 980 Ti and with a Samsung SM951 SSD (gets about 2000MB/s).

The load screens happened for me around 2AM EST on Azura's, and there was some pretty heavy fighting between Glade and Aleswell (with server pops between 2 and 3 bars). Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, and server pops were definitely about mid-level... but when I died, just respawning at the next keep over, I'd get long loadscreens that were upwards of 5 minutes.

EDIT: I just also wanted to note that while I play in Cyrodiil a lot, the loading screens ONLY happened that particular night for me in the AMs of Dec 21. I've never gotten any long loading screens in Cyrodiil, but that night I got several around the same time.

I get this sometimes on busy campaigns, not really endless but 2-4 minutes, and it's always more likely if I'm grouped, the bigger the group the higher the chance.

These long loading screens were not applicable in the past. This occured since x ESO updates back.
When? From the moment the first complaints showed up in the forums I guess.
According to the ESO requirements this is highly above the Recommended. So I still guess this is not a client-side issue.

While your fix never really solved the Issue, the issue resurfaced about 1 week after you announced the fix for long load screens due to having a large amount of quests completed.

We're going to look into one little nugget that @tinythinker mentioned, which is having these long loading screens potentially tied to group size (previous threads seem to point to this as well). Are you guys finding that you're hitting long loading screens while in a group, or are they the same if you're solo as well?

Ps4, Na server, hard wired to router. Random times for loading screens. Average wait for me has been close to 10 min. Noticed they returned about a week ago. I mainly run solo and if in a group, it's usually 4 people at the most. Also it happening in other places other then cyrodiil. I rarely pvp because of the lag atm. Thanks for the reply.

I can answer this... in Cyrodiil, the larger the group, (our guild sometimes has 24-man raids), the longer the load screen between wayshrines. Sometimes, places not under attack at all, will have attackers on the inner and an entire outer wall breech before you land. (PC-NA btw)

For the past two weeks on NA PC/MAC I am getting 90 second long load screens when using wayshrines in Wrothgar.

They usually happen when I am grouped for world bosses but not always.

I noticed over the weekend when I was in and out of a number of groups that my longest loading screens were experienced while in a group (timed a few.) I noticed about a week before that the load screen times while grouped were increasing again on PC, though they aren't as long as they were before the "fix".

Might want to get a network sniffer, have a look at inbound / outbound packets to see if any are bigger than usual... and not just outside traffic. This could be on the inside interfaces. Watching the Ping rate meter in game it almost seems like your under a DDOS attack. Also maybe a flapping router "interface going up and down". Just having one NIC on the network with a duplexing / speed setting set wrong can cause major havoc on the network. Logging into your switches and verifying port status reports may give you some insight looking for transmit and receive errors. If you see a really big number you probably have a NIC misconfigured or failing somewhere. This really feels like a hardware issue to me.
Anyway this is going to be like finding a needle in a haystack. I wish you all the best of luck solving this issue. If you need any testing done from an outside source just let me know and ill do what I can from my end.

I'm on NA PC and started seeing longer load times as well, not sure if its related but I found by alt tabbing to desktop then reopening game seems to pop me back into the game faster. If I'm zoning or changing characters my load seems to sit there but as I said if I alt tab to desktop and reopen game I load fine.

It's never happened when I was playing solo. So, you may be right.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Well; when you guys released that patch for the Consoles where you said "Fixed the long loading screens", I've never noticed any difference in my loading screens.

They're still 30sec-1minute long depending on where I'm trying to go.

I have Google Fiber, so I'm sending and receiving info at the maximum rate that my Xbox One allows, but I've still had the loading screens. The patch changed nothing.

Completely unpredictable. Up to 15 minutes -- only in the last few days. I suspect a patch that messed with the prior fix (which was working great)

Random long loading screens in Cyrodiil have been there for some time on pc. Playing on azura I have noted that they seems to be more common when the instance is full. All get there screens randomly regardles of pc set up. Our experience is that you get them more commonly in connection with big fights by release after death and a number of guildmates can get them on the same time. Not sure if group size matters.

I hope I am not speaking too soon, but the problem seems to have gone away. It didn't happen last night or today. Maybe it is related to the server maintenance.

My load screen problems were when using wayshrines and respawning. The random load screens others have mentioned (that happen during combat and while repairing) is a somewhat unrelated problem. It can continue to be discussed here, but the original problem this thread was created for is gone, at least for now.

i found 2 places causing it for me in cyro as DC. When trying to return to southern hihghrock it can cause a 6-10 min loading screen to get there and permanently everywhere else i try to zone in cyro. Even after crashing it can still be with me for the rest of the night randomely. The 2nd is repairing the posterns at kingscrest keep, my guilds taken the keep, repaired the inner wall and as it went up permanent loading screen. Those that did not crash themselves literally sat there and died to attackers that broke the both walls and killed us stuck loading to retake the keep

Long loading screens with large groups never went away. They just don't happen as often, but they can still happen.

For example, was doing an IC sewer run last week. We had 14 members in our group. Every single door we went through, the exact same person would get stuck on a loading screen for 2-3 minutes. Every single door. A relog fixed the issue for him.

So there is still some bug in the code that can cause long loading screens for large groups of players.
