Can someone help me do a pledge? :(

Ok, so I have a VR16 toon who is my crafter, provisioner and my RP gal. She is maxed out on everything...but she sucks.

I so want to do the daily pledges as I've not done one before, but I'm afraid of grouping with strangers who may yell at me and kick me. Not that I wouldn't deserve it. I just want someone to show me my first dungeon pledge so I can absorb it and understand how I need to prepare or reset my skills accordingly. I'd do my best in there (and may even be better than I think), but I'd like to be with people who actually understand my lack of dungeon-fighting xD

I'm on the PS4 so I can't send an SoS. I guess I just find all you dungeon geared up peeps intimidating

I'm on the PC, so I can't run through with you. If you would like to just ask your questions though I would be glad to answer any I could.

I suggest getting a few pointers here from posters, setting up, asking questions along the way and then trying. Then, after you have tried you will have a few more questions, and you can ask those also.

What role and spec are you trying to fill?

There are many Youtube channels like GeraintAmbrosia that have all the dungeon guides and more.

Educate yourself a bit about the specific dungeon you are about to go to, after a couple of runs you will know all the dugeons like the back of your hand.

Also, getting into a guild might help you finding someone willing to help.

Don't fret over that.
They'll yell at you even if you do NOT deserve.
As a DPS that pulled constant 15'ish k while the other light attacked, i got yelled for not killing stuff fast enough..
As a Healer, I'd get yelled at when the tank forgot to block (*** i can't heal one shots)
And as a tank for a lv 10 run in banished cells, dps yelled at me because he died in red and i wasn't taunting.

Practice makes it perfect. Lots of people never ran this or that dungeon, try to get some peeps with a couple of hours free and do plenty of training runs, learn the dynamics of it, watch youtube vids of people running trough it. (not speed runs, tho', as those focus on high dps and skip most of teh fight)

Your signature says PS4 EU and NA Cazzy but if the character you want to do the dungeon on is NA I'd be happy to do a Vet dungeon with you. I'm in DC but could probably do a group finder group if you are in another faction.

I have run Vet dungeons with people that haven't done them before on lots of occasions and I've never kicked a person or quit a group. I'm all for helping others to try a Vet dungeon they haven't done before so I don't yell but I'm happy to give suggestions for people that are learning in dungeons.

but as mentioned by others.. dont be scared or feel bad.. just join groups and go... theres always someone being carried through so dont feel bad if its you... most random groups i join have atleast 1 unexperienced player.. thats part of running with random players

oh and except IC and WGT the pledges are pretty easy

I read Deltias guides on vet dungeons, they proved invaluable. At that time I was pretty much a solo player and had never done a pledge before. I have done so many now on diff chars I know everyone like the back of my hand.

Aww... you're nice, but yeah also PC, so can't help you directly. I must also admit that I am not particularly patient, so although I don't shout at people, I do sometimes quit really bad groups to save time, especially if they don't listen to my advice as an experienced player, or don't communicate at all. In defense of the elitists... time is finite and valuable. I don't want to spend 90mins doing something that could have taken 25mins with a competent team. However I will offer you some advice on how to prepare for undaunted pledges:

1) Specialize: If you haven't already, choose your role and focus on building your character around that role. Get rid of your solo mentality.

2) Tamriel Foundry is a great source for builds and general information. Don't just copy any random build you see, try to understand the principles behind the choices people made and learn the underlying mechanics.

3) Start off Easy: Normal Group Dungeons are easy... it'd be hard to fail it unless all 4 players are completely inexperienced. A good tank or healer can solo it and a single good dps player can nuke everything to bypass mechanics. Thus Normal Dungeons are a great way to build experience and confidence and practise playing in 4 man teams. Once you got a basic grounding, try veteran dungeons, but be aware that the difficulty of the dungeons varies significantly. In order of easy to difficult:

1. Wayrest Sewers
2. Spindleclutch
3. Banished Cells
4. Elden Hollow
5. Fungal Grotto
6. Darkshade Cavern
7. Crypt of Hearts
8. City of Ash
9. White Gold Tower
10. Imperial City Prison

COA is todays Vet Gold and i would advise to skip that. I have been in many failed groups for that dung which i have the blame for sometimes which can put u off. Try the easy ones first which the OP has made a nice list of for you

I like your list, I agree 100% concerning your difficulty ratings. Maybe I would swap Banished Cells with Elden Hollow. I did BC with a random group yesterday and you can't imagine how many people still had issues to count Daedroths (yes, it needs 3 !) in that game and do not know what a target switch is. As a healer I was astonished how long (the whole fight ?) some people are able to ignore the DoT from the blue or the red bubble running on them... Elden Hollow just needs enough damage for Bogdan. If a DD delivers at least 10k dps it should be possible without any issues.

I recommend for the OP that he might start with silver pledges. They are great for testing and building up experience for the role he might wanne play (tank, healer, DD).
