Spend some money on server upgrades!

Lately I have noticed a huge issue with latency spikes in ESO. I will see latency go from 89 to 999 for about 10-20 secs, the game interaction sometimes freezes up and then it goes back to normal.

I have run speed tests, trace routes and the likes on my end and with my ISP with positive results, so I know my end is good. I also have edited my firewall(s) and AV settings to allow for the game to be unhindered.

I can play any other MMO with no issues and little latency spikes (spikes happen i understand that).

SO...

ZOS please take some time during 2016 to invest in server and ISP upgrade and support.

Let's be honest. No matter how much better the servers get the lag won't go away when you have 30+ derpaderps stacking on crown spamming steel tornado, healing springs, rapid regen, caltrops.

As long as that mentality of gameplay is still happening the servers will ALWAYS be ***

Ohhh. So, skills are to blame for lag now. Not deer anymore. Ban all skills in Cyrodiil, no more lag.

I bet if another group of skills were being spammed, someone would come onto the forum and blame those particular skills.

Large group fights and AoE skills going off should have no issue with ping and latency.... unless ZOS is trying to stream too much server side or did not properly account for the strain on the servers.

Also working with ISPs for proper response and bandwidth for the game goes a long way.

They blame it on the CP system.

They should get rid of the CP system and just go back to balancing around items. Easier to balance items then it is 500 points into a second leveling system.

Then if CP is truly the cause of most the lag it will be gone and a better character/itemization system can be in place.

Last thing they did brought lots of improvements but Azura is still lagfest during Evenings. We need Cyrodil overhaul. Get rid off of all PVE content, reduce the player per campaign, design whole Cyrodil again.

Its a game built around big pvp battles (duh its in the game description). They should've known that there will be alot aoe abilities being used in a small area.

This is what happens when the devs decides to give a million away instead of upgrading equipment.

Actually, this game wasnt built around big PvP battles at all. And,no it isnt in the name description. The game title is:

The lag is stupid. I played Defiance on xbox 360 and we had hundreds of players on screen at the same time launching elemental AOE missiles, ground pounders, drving cars around like maniacs all fighting two hundred foot tall monsters and Trion was a horrible company, but their lag was less. Even looking up at the sky and seeing it look like a 1960 lsd trip with multicolored clouds (Serious glitch) there was less lag.

These spikes have been with the game since patch 1.6 but you can't tell ZOS that. Its funny how we players will notice bugs with the game after a patch and yet ZOS think we just dreaming up things. It's my opinion that ZOS don't consider it their issue. Before 1.6 my ping to NA was in the 60ms, and my EU ping was around 120ms. After the 1.6 patch my NA ping is 120-140ms avg, and my EU ping is 240-260ms. EXACTLY double on avg increase ever since 1.6 patch was release. Also I get plenty of the spikes to 300, 500, 999ms. Why? Oh I know ZOS, you will just blame it on the ISP that I'm with. Perhaps it's some sort of anti-cheat software that snoops on the packets cuasing it all to be delay? Of course this the only mmorpgs I play that has these issues but you can't prove that to ZOS.

    I feel your pain man....

If ZOS doesn't get things under control they will be losing many players soon. I know there are at least 4-5 major ESO streamers that are taking a break from the game going into 2016.

Lose players to what game? There isn't anything to lose them to. Even though it's buggy as hell the pvp is still decent, when red aren't getting their entire map in 1 location (NA AZ).
    Haha block, ha rip.

ZoS can't afford a server upgrade, now if the game was back to P2P that would be a different story but they're not just laying off employees for nothing.

The end game was meant to be pvp and they heavily marketed it around large scale battles.

They already reduced the number of players per campaign, so that's not really a problem. Though it could be if it's lowered again, except this time it could go the other way. It's already painful at times finding fights and the siege battles are just a shadow of what they used to be.

Here's hoping the upcoming upgrade to their system fixes at least a few elements of what's causing the lag and/or FPS issues.

Is it a complete overhaul or new system that will be running Cyrodiil? I'm sorry I can't remember what they said about it.

Edit: @MaxwellCrystal they already have stated that they are upgrading the system on Cyrodiil.
