How do you put points into everything?

I was reading and they were saying unlock all the skills but how does one do that even if you want to unlock profession passives too. I think there isn't enough points to unlock everything.

TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

I want to add that I am lvling my first toon so I am not familiar with eso. I just want to know how do people lvl up. Like what do you put your skill points in? I unlocked everything in 2h skill line and then I unlocked some passives for crafting. I am lvl 47 I also got a lot of shards too so got points from them

I find that I am out of points for other skill lines. I do have some skills in Templar melee tree and some heals unlocked as well.

most people level up by grinding groups of mobs or through questing. don't forget dungeons all give you a skill point upon completing the quest in them and there are veteran versions of them all. the main story missions give you points as well. and after 50 there is 16 vet ranks that you can get for 16 more points.

its a choice of either professions or skills ;) or being a god gives you a buff of about 30 skill points so there's that. that being said its a rare quest only found in cold harbor when you are level 50 only on the 5th day of every month do you have a chance to obtain the quest that grants you the title of God and gives you 30 skill points.

You're probably the same person complaining that ESO is dying and theres a lack of new players

At the beginning you'll be running out of skill points, but as you progress you'll see there are plenty. Make sure you do the following:

    - Main quests for each zone. Unlike normal quests, the main quests often award you skill points.
    - All skyshards in each zone. There are usually 9 above ground and 7 in delves/public dungeon, for 16 total per zone IIRC. Don't leave a delve until you're sure you got the skyshard, as there's always one in each delve.
    - Public dungeon group challenge. Each zone has one public dungeon, and each of these has a particularly hard boss that awards a skill point when killed.
    - Group dungeon quests. Each zone has one group dungeon, and at the start of each you are given a quest that awards a skill point when completed. I don't remember if you get a skill point for veteran dungeon quests, but I'm sure you do for the normal version.

Other than that, each PvP rank also awards a skill point, but that's a rather long grind.

There are enough Awful skills that you can have all of the valuable ones, especially if you are a Templar.

You also eventually have access to the other two alliances' zones.

You will one day end up with a LOT of skill points. At V10 I have a dozen skillpoints not used - and I'm still missing all those from PVP, and Caldwell Gold

    That's the irony see.
You never really know what you should put points into until you have put points into them and regret it.
You will get enough shards eventually for about 85-90%.
So its more a case of ignoring stuff you don't think will interest you.
Give yourself some space to swing a kahjit...so to speak.

Thankfully ...every factions capital has shrines where you can respec at a cost.

no I don't care personally if eso dies. I consider it skyrim online with some really odd npc that follow me around or act in unpredictable ways :)

After you beat the main storyline, you can go visit the other factions areas and get all the Skyshards and complete all of the their quests/delves. This gives you access to about twice as many skill points as you already had. Orsinium and other DLC also come with Skyshards and quests which add even more skill points.

Go skyshard hunting. If you collect every one you will be able to activate nearly every skill for your class as well as crafting skills

figure out what you want to specialize in and look up a build that is geared for that role. Look at what skills the build uses and go from there. There are a lot of good streamers out there and hundreds of different builds for every class and sub-class. Do you want to be a stam sorc or magica nightblade? Stram Dragin Knight or magica Templar? 4 classes+2 different attack bases= 8 sub-class choices. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses. Pick one based on your style of play or what role you want to fill in endgame content.
That being said, you can redo your attack base, skill points, attribute points and morphs down the road if you decide you want to change later. Right now your most important choices are your race and class.

The first 20- 30 levels I'm scrambling for skill points. Now most of my Vet level chars have like 20 unused points.

Lots of advice on getting more points from the productive posts above. I will say find all the skyshards.

As for spending them, concentrate on your 1 or two main weapons, your main type of armor, and the most useful skills from your Class & race. You are either Stam or Magika, focus on that. Yes, later you will want to add other weapons, armor types, crafts, etc. But spend your points wisely & with focus so you can level fast and gather more skillpoints.

Always keep 1 unspent if possible. That lets you see what is available now, and will also be there if you need something like persuade or intimidate or you level a skill while out and about and want to grab the new ability.

You can unlock everything. You just can't have skill points in everything all at once.

[*] Just use a weapon with the Training Trait until L50 in the weapon line and you have unlocked the morph for the last skill. Then slot another one and repeat. Do the same for your Class Skills.

[*] Wear a mix of all armors until you level each to 50

[*] Crafting just grind decons or creations until you get them to 50

[*] Level your character to 50 to get all the Racial Passives

[*] Level Mages, Fighters and Undaunted to 10 to get all those skills unlocked

[*] Steal and Fence until you level Legerdemain to 20 and you get all those unlocked

[*] Do the Main Quest to have your meeting with Molag Bal and you unlock all the Soul skills.

If I left anything out, I think you can figure out what to do.

Then, all you have to do is decide what you want for your build and put points into those skills.

The point in leveling everything is that you should not waste XP by having a full bar of fully leveled skills. Due to the annoying re-balancing of skills, you also don't know what will help you down the line.

Eventually, you will have a ton of skill points you don't need for combat skills and will have plenty to use on professions.

Also, join a guild that does shard runs in Cyrodiil. Do the 3 group dungeons per zone level for 1 skill point per.

It's pretty common when you're low level, it'll get better as you level up:) Try to collect all skyshards and don't forget that group challenges in public dungeons and completing group dungeons' quests gives you skillpoints too.
My main is currently maxed in all professions with most passives unlocked(no hirelings atm and no Keen Eye for half the crafts), all class passives and skills morphed, some Mages guild skills/passives, some Fighter's guild/passives, some Alliance War skills/passives, 3 weapons, 3 armor types trained(though I don't have all heavy and medium armor passives, don't need them) and I think I still have something about 20 skillpoints left. She's almost maxed out on skillpoints though, can't remember how many she has but it's A LOT

Oh and leveling up your alliance rank(PvP) also gives you a skillpoint, it's pretty easy to gain at least a few that way with first several ranks, they go by past.

Far as what you should put points in, that's up to you. Not all the skills are (equally) useful. For instance if you're running 2h you're(or you should for maximum damage at least) probably wearing medium armor and don't essentially need other armor types. Assuming you're running 2h you're relying on stamina, making most magicka based skills kinda useless, so you'd want those class skills that have stamina morphs(like Biting Jabs) and appropriate passives(might as well unlock them all later, but focus on those you actually do need for now). Also, BoL(Breath of life, first healing skill morph) is always good to have unlocked just because it's the only burst heal in the game.

Crafting can be a bit overwhelming but you can always just level it for now(deconstruct and research everything you find) without putting points in it and have a guildie/friend/random inzchat for $$$ craft stuff for you.

@Nestor Speaking of the Training traits, do you know if those stack per piece of armor or weapons, or is it counterproductive to have that on more than one piece of the same type of armor or weapon?

Its not skill points but 5 Achievement Points for finding that one. It is the only single Skyshard in the game that gives an Achievement. The other skyshard achievements require you to find all the ones in a zone.
